Curves

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Many sparkers belong to Curves and love it. I've considered it and finally did it - joined, that is.

The main reason for me not joining sooner was that I didn't think I could get to town enough to make it worth it. I may still only make it a few times per week, but the advantages are great.

1. Discipline. Sometimes it's just easier to exercise when others are around, though not having to be part of a formal group.

2. Socializing. Being out in the boonies can cause eating out of boredom or loneliness.

3. New routines, exercises. I was looking for an autumn change of pace. Now I have that opportunity.

4. They offer stretching routines on their equipment after the workout. Just the bit I did yesterday was tremendous for my back.

It will be/is worth it!

I am not currently a member of Curves, but my mom has found it to be a great place. She made a lot of positive changes in her body and outlook by going to work out there consistently.

Enjoy!

(Again...thanks for checking in with me in the past. I do not think I did a good job of returning the favor this summer, but your comments meant a lot to me. )

Yes, I agree for me I enjoy having others around all doing their ouw exercise--nice to have the activity going on while exrcising. Even in the pool, I liked when others were also there at the same time. Change is good, I hope you continue enjoying going to curves as much as time allows. I have never belonged to Curves, but knoe some women who have.

visiting with the others is a great way to socialize and work out at the same time -- especially since all look toward the center ... I enjoyed my experience with them but they didn't last long in our little town. I checked out the YMCA silver sneakers program in the nearby town where we are4 moving .... HUGE room for workouts but no swimming ( emoticon ) Roc

The Umtenth New Beginning

Sunday, September 22, 2013

The Spark Fitness Tracker arrived Friday. How exciting - I had only ordered it Tuesday. Today it is setting up. I hope I don't have to set up a new account. I guess if that's the case, I'll just have 2. One for tracking and one to chat and learn with my spark family.

I also promised to keep you posted on weather around here. It's been bright and sunny. Perfect autumn days. A bit of a chill in the morning, gorgeous the rest of the day.

I'll also keep you posted how my new tracker works out. I never did find my fitbit. I think it's somewhere in Albequerque.

I hope you like your new tracker. We've gotten snow twice so far, but it hasn't stuck yet. I'm interested to see what kind of winter we get here after the abnormal spring and summer.

30 Day Challenge: Appreciation

Thursday, September 19, 2013

My women's Bible study class is titled "True Woman 101. Divine Design". We'll study from a book of the same title. There is also a website that I explored.

One of the (free) offerings is a 30 day appreciation challenge. I signed up for the daily email.
How life-changing this combination will be for me. It's going to be intense, I can already tell.

I said I needed to work on balance. Here's a chance to enhance the spiritual. I am excited to be on this path.

I was wondering how you're doing with all the flooding... My sister's kids live in the Colorado Springs and have kept us apprised of the news... such terrible destruction! So, so glad that you're okay!

Think it Out

Thursday, September 05, 2013

New for my daily check-off list: Think it Out. I'd casually thought about this in the past, but time to make this a habit. Today I read a SP secret of success to do just this and it inspired me.

Do I need this food?
Will it sabotage my plan?
Is it a trigger food?

Should I decide to eat it:
Am I tracking it and tracking it accurately?
Am I using portion control?
Am I savoring the flavor and feeling the texture?

Down with Mindless Eating!

Great reminder, thanks for sharing - I really haven't thought about what my trigger foods are. I finally discovered that I am a BIG Time emotional eater. I will have to give trigger foods more thought.
