Preparing for Tomorrow

Blew the eating plan for today. Not horribly, but I didn't start out with a plan so was all over the place. Did manage to get all my freggies in and then some though.

Exercise was in small segments. In my world not doing exercise early usually results in just barely getting it in. One of the chores today was hauling wood into the house, and that certainly counts as exercise. I was huffing and puffing when the UPS man came to the door. I told him why but he looked skeptical.

Tomorrow: Pre-breakfast (low glycemic meal in a mug); exercise; small breakfast; stain the legs of the breakfast bar I am making; run into town; walking while hubby is doing his errands; sack lunch; home to scrub kitchen floor and other chores; afternoon planned snack, work outside if not windy/cold; dinner; evening chores; bed. Routine is good for me!

most of them did 2 things...
worked hard everyday
& walked a lot!

Hubby informed me this morning he needs to lose 5 lbs over the next 2 weeks for his army weigh-in. I lose slowly, but being male he'll have no problem. What an opportunity for me to share more of the recipes I've created and accumulated, mostly from SP. What an opportunity to get into the evening spring walk routine and weekend hike. emoticon

I'm excited about this. I'm always babbling about my challenges, progress and obstacles and he's a good listener. I know sometimes he's being more polite than interested. It turns out that babble was seeds. I'm sure many little tidbits will be remembered.

Timing is perfect. It's the last week of the 5% winter challenge. Summer family gatherings are around the corner as well, and this will be a great jump off point for both of us together to be a team and reach our goals. Not to mention be more prepared for the March for Babies on the 27th.

    emoticon emoticon A couple of months ago I went to eating a low carb diet. It's not a diet though, it's how I prefer to eat. It took a while but now Randy is doing it with me. I know I feel better since adopting this low carb way of eating.

It's soo much easier for men to lose weight because they naturally have more lean muscles than women and of course all of that testosterone that they have running through their bodies helps as well. emoticon

  While it may be a general rule that men lose faster it is not always been true. I have been stuck right around the 200# mark for over 4 months now. I finally saw a slight drop last week.

Winter 5% Challenge, Week 7

emoticon Yippee! The scale quite giving me high numbers. Finally down! From the onset a total of 5 lbs. This week is a cinch - freggies and exercise. I've already had 3 freggies in my shake and raisins on my pb toast. I'm motivated!

now, to stay out of those addictive jellybeans....

Prayer first. I tend to just delve into things and have regrets later. Prayer first thing in the morning to bang me in the head if necessary to get my attention because my God knows better than I do. It helps to do this again before entering a store. Then I just get tapped on the shoulder!

Daily Affirmation. Motivate by doing. emoticon Give myself a pat on the bac for a job well done. emoticon

Share. I am blessed with so many things. I've found joy and peace in them. Let others have the same opportunity. Share. There isn't a lack of nice things in this world. This goes hand in hand with appreciation.

Kindness goes a long way. So does a simple smile or gesture.

    Absolutely! You're so correct! I thank God everyday for allowing me another day and ask for help to make the right decisions and allow me to get healthier.

Winter is on it's way back

I thought my weather app was crazy when it said 18 degrees for Tuesday. I couldn't quite make out the icon, but looked like snow to me. Hubby said that couldn't be right, and I agreed.

Well, it's 67F today. Beautiful day. There's a "but". Tonight we'll be getting snow and rain mix. By tomorrow we are slated to have blizzard-like conditions with a high of 18. Yes, I mean 18.

Hubby had an errand to do after work which left me with the car today. I crunced all the things I was meant to do tomorrow into today, except women's study, of course. I also exercised more than I realized. I'm pooped!

I already have tomorrows dinner in the crock pot. Red beans & rice, collards. Tomorrow I figure that I am going to relax, do devotionals, write personal letters and crochet. Sparking, too, if the satellite isn't goofed up. I also have the 2nd season of Downton Abbey to watch. I'll be a happy camper!

I'm not sure how long the storm will stick around. I'm just praying everyone will be safe commuting.

    Stay warm and safe. Hope you do get to relax and watch Downton Abbey. It' s real good. Our PBS station here doesn't carry the new year. I watched all the previous years and was hooked.
Wish I could send you some of our warm weather. It's been an unseasonably warm winter here and we've already seen a bumper crop of mosquitoes.

    It was 13 below zero this morning, and it has been snowing for two days now. I thought Spring was here too. I asked my husband if it was September. It felt like a good day to sit in front of the fire with a good book, cup of cocoa, and watch the snow fall. Unfortunately, I need to get ready for Girl Scouts. Maybe tomorrow.
