Re-set my weekly goal list

Sunday, July 22, 2012

Love that I can have daily/weekly goals that I can track and see at a glance. SP is great!

Because I have slipped just a bit I re-added some of the basics. For instance:

emoticon Eat a good breakfast EVERY DAY!
Meet my team members! emoticon
Post my weekly progress on my spark page and on Team Firecrackers! emoticon
emoticon Take ALL my supplements everyday, not just some.

Whew! It's easy to slip up on established habits. With accountability to myself and you all I will re-establish them and make my ultimate goal!

I've slipped too, as you know. Let's just keep getting back to the basics as you've done and that should help us.

pecan puffs

Thursday, July 19, 2012

from a wonderful lady in lafayette, LA. Today is her birthday so I am making her recipe in her honor.

1 egg white
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup light brown sugar
3 cups pecans

Method (her words): In a mixing bowl beat egg white until stiff. Add salt, soda and sugar. Mix very well. Coat pecans with this mixture. Spoon 2 to 3 pecans at a time on a slightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300F for about 30 minutes or until light brown. Let stand and cool for awhile before removing from cookie sheet. When cooled, store in an airtight cookie jar or pan. These may be frozen, but you'll eat them before you will be able to freeze them. YLield About 3 dozen cookies

Sounds very good and healthy too.
I wish nuts weren't so high in price these days, but I may have to buy some anyways so I can make these.
thanks for posting this,

July 1 = 2nd half of 2012

Sunday, July 01, 2012

Yeah! At this point I can see and talk about progress.

I went on a 3 week vacation. To make up for eating things I could only cut down portion size on. I tried to make up for the excess with bouts of exercise.

Now that's progress!

emoticon

Getting through some tough emotional times without turning to foood....

Now that's progress! emoticon

Gaining strength and being able to move my arms above my head (not all the way going through airport security... a story I'd rather forget)

again, PROGRESS!

So fibromyalgia, go ******************************! Over 50, same to you! Depression, you can just emoticon out the window because you don't get to defeat me.

Thank you spark friends and "relations" for your support. Thank you for recognizing we all have our own needs. Thank you for helping me to see that mine do count and I can overcome the bad and get better every day!

One of the things I can finally do? cheer for me cuz that's ok! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sorry to hear that you have fibromyalgia. I know you really suffer with that disease also.
You are showing that weight loss can still be done even though we have our medical issues!

Summer 5% Challenge, Day 8 of 56

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Week 2 begins today. Weight loss goal of the week is from .75 to1.5 lbs. That might seem a little odd, but in this heat we do what we can do when we can do it. I'm not focusing on exercise videos or particular workouts as it will be accomplishing something just getting chores done.

I'm doing too good with water intake. The recommended 1/2 oz per pound is far exceeded. I can never get enough. Not because I'm thirsty, I just like it. What I thought was my 22 oz water bottle turned out to be 32 oz. And I go through several a day.

Great post! Good for you on drinking more than you should! Chores count as exercise!
Lugging hoses is definity exercise and in this heat.

Everyday is a fresh start so no more beating yourself up. just make it real and it will become second nature. emoticon

I hear ya. I wanted to add ST dvd cuz it was too hot to work outside, but just isn't happening. I have had to water every morning for a couple hours and I am just drained after that. I figure lugging hoses is a fairly decent workout :) Stay cool (as you can!)

Week one of the summer 5% challenge brought me a pound closer to my goal. Not bad considering the wacky week.
