Setback - Over!

Despite my goal of staying on track over Christmas, I blew it again and again. Today I'm back on track! I wasn't motivated at all this morning so decided to put the timer on and just walk in place. The minutes started adding up. I stuck with my healthy foods.

Then I watched DrOz. Most of the things he shared were things I'm already doing! That was like getting a booster shot of motivation.

Walking in place is the best.. I do side steps, and it definitely helps keep me motivated. sooo easy to get discouraged, esp w/ fibro..Keep up the great work!!

    Maybe you did stumble and fall a couple of times but the important thing is that you have picked yourself up and started over. None of us are perfect and we are bound to make mistakes. You've gotten back on track now which is the best thing you can do. The past is the past and tomorrow is another day you can stay on track. emoticon emoticon

Just Two More Sleeps!

To my friends down under it's just one more sleep, to us (we?) in the states it's two more sleeps! What an exciting time! I am both wishing it wasn't so close because hubby's gifts need some help, and anticipating the holiday.

NORAD is here in the springs, and Santa can be tracked as he does his magic around the world. I follow as I think of my real and cyber friends around the world ring in the day. I find it fun and interesting to learn a little about how they celebrate. emoticon

My heart is saddened after reading blogs of those who are very depressed and can't wait for it all to be over. I don't have words for them. If someone won't except love and encouragement it can't be forced on them. I'm praying they get through this season and are able to experience some joy.

Whoo Hoo! turnaround week Two!

I am motivated to walk my walk, but my legs are rebelling. they are just, plain tired! My exercise today consisted of cleaning the wood stove, haulin in new logs, and burying hot coals in the snow. All necessary because snow is falling just north of me and headed this way!

so I ask - can this day be counted as day 8? i don't want to fail my streak. especially at this time of year!

    Great job! I know I'd count it. I've done that too but without snow. I live in California which hasn't had much sun recently. emoticon

    I am not an expert, but if I did all that I would be huffing and puffing. It probably used more muscle than walking unless you are a speed walker. So good for you. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Sounds like some great exercise to me. I say you can count it. Hauling in new logs can't be easy nor is cleaning out the wood stove and taking out and burying the hot coals. Keep up the great work.

One Minute Health Breaks

Today I've: mashed apples with an antique (it even has a wooden handle, that was once painted) hand masher; marched in place while washing dishes by hand; made healthy snacks (what else?) for my animals; packed a healthy lunch for hubby; put healthy snacks in the icebox, ready to grab.

Simple gets us places!

3 Baby Steps

Day 5 of my turnaround. I did it and added little tiny weights - 6 oz cans of tomato paste. I also did 5 mins of the next phase, not knowing exactly when it is supposed to start.

Still sore from all the minutes I chalked up yesterday so I got a late start. I'll be working on routine over the next few weeks. Holidays are hard to start a routine, but it feels good knowing I'll be going into January with a head start.

My best news is hubby is on the plan! Not so structured - baby steps for him, too. He's doing breakfast now. - the meal shake and 1/2 of a southbeach muffin. He also didn't start his day with pop! It is so nice to have a live-in buddy! We can compare notes!

    I love the idea of getting a head start on all the people who are starting on Jan !st. Many people indulge so much at Christmas time that they are behind when they want to start getting fit. I am so proud of you for your hard work! Keep up the good work!
