My weight goals are the 1st and the 15th. Normally I am great that first week and I will get really close to my goal weight. Then beginning of the second week I go on a 3day binge that puts me back to my beginning weight and then the rest of the week I am pretty good again, and I lose some weight but not enough to hit my goal weight on my due date. So frustratig but it is a vicious circle. I really thought I was going to be in the 130s for September but I don't foresee that happening. GRRRRR to myself. I mean I am still losing weight, but I know I can do better.

  It's great you're losing weight. Don't be discouraged. Just do a little more exercise, like 5 minutes more to take care of those binges. You can still do it, there are 4 weeks plus 2 days in September. Please don't give up.

Watching the SCALE

I hear time and time again how using the scale is evil and obsessing over it can be counterproductive. For me though it works. I weigh my myself a few times a day. Now when I have a "splurge" day I may avoid the scale for a day or two depending, but overall I like what I see on the scale even if it is up. I think the first thing is that you have to expect flucuation and a lot of it. My weight flucuates in a five pound range throughout the day. I find it fascinating to get on the scale and see the different numbers. It is crazy to see that your weight has altered a few pounds (lost or gained) in like two or three hours. The other thing is that if I feel the scale is high, I try on my clothes and it is still amazing that I fit clothes I haven't been able to wear for years :)

    Yes I do this sometimes also. It works somehow I tried to hide my scales once and it about drove me nuts!

I can fit most of my clothes right now. That is saying a lot because most of the time I can barely fit half of them. I still own clothes I wore in junior high. I don't think I will ever fit those again, but if I did...I am bringing the 80s back with a vengeance...LOL

You know what I noticed since my weight yo-yos is that when I get down to a same weight I was before my body is different. The last time I weighed this amount I was much skinnier in the thighs, whereas this time I have lost more weight in the waist area. I sometimes get worried about what I am doing to my body flucuating my weight so much so often.

    Just keep in mind that as you "age" your body is going to "spread" in different areas. It's sad to say, but perfectly normal and healthy! I have a friend who has always been tall and thin and beautifully built. She works hard to keep her figure, but at the age of 60 she told me that she used to be a C cup and is now a D cup, but only because of the "sag of age". Also, she had to buy different styles in pants because her backside got bigger, but she has to alter them because her waist is the same size. She is still a size 4, but our bodies settle into age differently.
Congrats on fitting into your clothes! That has to be a GREAT feeling!

I understand what you mean, I also have a wardrobe where I fit maybe into about 30% of it. Yesterday I started throwing out I know I wont fit into again. I decided I dont need a negative reminder. My goal is to eliminate 1-2 pieces a day.

I to question what effect my up and down weight has on my body healthwise,

I have started back on SP again. I have actually been tracking my fitness and food for a couple of weeks, but put off blogging until now....

The other day I noticed how much easier it is to sit down and get up. I can sit in a variety of positions without feeling uncomfortable and I can get up without having to use momentum. I gain a lot of weight in my waist so bending in the stomach region puts a lot of pressure on organs and it becomes hard to breath or move.

Today is the first day since the 21st I have done any exercise. It felt good and I didn't feel like I was at square one. My knee still feels a little wobbly but I did strength training on chest and back. I should have started back up sooner but I sort of floundered on what to do. Finally today I told myself I was going back to doing P90X. I need the structure. Then I thought the whole reason I stopped P90X because I was bored with it. SO I came up with the idea to take out the P90X DVDs I can do without involving too much knee movement and my other workout DVDs pick one without looking and do that for the day. I don't know why I didn't think of doing it sooner, takes the guessing out of what to do :) I still have 8 Zumba classes, but I'm not jumping on that again until my knee is A LOT better.
