Hi everyone.....Game two down this week...One tomorrow and a double header on Sat. Haley's team....9 wins 2 losses. Thought you might like a to see her pitching form and I'm adding a link to the small town newspaper that carried pictures from that game. They are usually a few days behind as they don't usually carry much from Jr. high games.
Here is the link:

Coming from a small Southern Illinois town has had its' drawbacks, but, also, its' joys. Tonight Art and I have been invited to the class reunions of the classes of 1970 - 74. (Art and I graduated in '62 and '66). These were the first students had as a high school teacher. After 38 years of teaching, we know most of the "kids" here and their kids and their kids! YIKES! Tonight is the mixer and tomorrow night...dinner and dancing. Will they be surprised when Art hits the floor! LOL......A very few have watched us dance, but most haven't. It's always fun to watch the look on their faces as we swing and bop all over the floor. And, yessssss.....we DO have fun!
The young people who Art has taught and coached are now the leaders in this tiny community....helping others when they need it. They have huge hearts and have made it a better place because they are still here. Most have gone to the city, but those who stayed are good, loving, and civic minded. I am constantly impressed by their small-town spirit and love for others. Here is a link to the founder of Zeigler. It's interesting....
There is an old business building that has stood on the circle of this little town for many years. It used to be a train depot when it as a booming mining town. That's where this "mixer" will be tonight. We are both looking forward to it. Some of the younsters will look older than we do......That's unfortunate, but true. We have been amazed at how so many people don't really know the benefits of staying fit. Some have actually told us that we have inspired them to do better. That means a lot and we are actually still trying to lead by example. It humbles me to know that we are still thought of in that way. So.....when you think no one is looking....please remember that there always is! Keep trying to do and look our best is important to both of us. My parents have been coming to Haley's ballgames and everyone is always amazed at that, since, if you know my story....is incredible since my parents are 86 and 87. My moral, if there is one??? Never give up....never stop trying! I love you, my sparkies, and wish all of you a blessed weekend full of smiles and endless joy! XXXOOO

Sofia just got married, and being a traditional Italian she was still a virgin.
On her wedding night at her mother's house she was nervous, but her mother reassured her, "Don't worry, Sofia Luca is a good man, go upstairs and he'll take care of you."
So she went.
When she got upstairs, Luca took off his shirt and exposed his hairy chest. Sofia ran downstairs to her mother and said, "Mama, Mama, Luca's got a big hairy chest!"
"Don't worry, Sofia", says the mother, "All good men have hairy chests, go upstairs and he'll take good care of you."
So up she went again.
When she was in the bedroom Luca took off his pants exposing his hairy legs, again Sofia ran downstairs to her mother, "Mama, Mama, Luca took off his pants, and he's got hairy legs!"
"Don't worry Sofia, all good men have hairy legs, Luca's a good man, go upstairs and he'll take good care of you."
So, up she went again.
When she got up there, Luca was taking his socks off and on his left foot he was missing three toes. When Sofia saw this, she ran downstairs.
"Mama, Mama, Luca's got a foot and a half!"
"Stay here and stir the pasta", says the mother "this is a job for Mama!"
IT'S A JOKE! LOL......Being Italian myself, I love these weddings. Family, friends, all eating, dancing, kissing, hugging, laughing and crying at the same time! See you when I return home, my sparkies....XO MaryAnn
