Veering offtrack

Friday, July 06, 2007

This week has been trying diet wise all week. Haven't done too bad calorie wise but my carbs have been too high. Too many emotional things going on and just haven't cared. Guess I'll ride it out thru the weekend and get back on track Monday. I don't do too well on weekends so there's no point even trying. I know I can do this, I've done it before.

The good thing is I made it to the gym for 30 min utes today so all is not lost.

You go, girl!! I am looking forward to being able to say, " I know I can do this..." too. I have yet to lose and keep off anything over 13 lbs. I will be doing a lot more praying and believing for victory!! I can't wait to get off the unhealthy pounds I have put on over the last ...WOW it's been 18 years in the making. So I know we all didn't put on the extra pounds overnight, and it will take a while to lose. I suppose when we look at it from this perspective, we have hope. I am going to start off small and just try for a one pound loss this week. I will go to the journal section of spark notes where they give us a weeks' worth of menus and the shopping list. It's AWESOME of you to make it to the gym!!! Mary Ellen

So very tired

Saturday, June 16, 2007

My exercise is slacking off this week after working 12 hours overtime, I just don't have the energy to do it. I'll try to get back to the gym this week but with my schedule changes it is really hard to get up and get there at 8am to workout then go to work. I did manage to get 5 workouts in last week but they weren't the best ones I've ever done. My knee is killing me and my feet and ankles are throbbing from the arthritis and I want to say to heck with it but I've got too much time invested in this lifestyle change to admit defeat now.

Wow!! I haven't posted here for awhile. I'm down 29 pounds. Though I do keep moving back and forth btwenn 226-229. Might be water though I am still taking my diuretic for blood pressure. At last check I'm down 10.25 total inches since I started trying to keep up with Billy Blanks. I have to improvise sometimes so as not hurt my knee.

another set back

Saturday, April 14, 2007

Just getting up to speed on the workouts and now I pulled a muscle in my hip and can't hardly walk. Oh well no one said it was going to be easy. Maybe if I do upper body strength training for the next few days I can get back to the gym soon. Only thing about that is it doesn't burn as many calories. So until I get back to the gym, I've reset my diet goals again to account for the lack of cardio.

cholesterol screening

I still don't know what the results were for my last blood work. They refuse to give me the results over the phone and want me to schedule another appointment. I don't have any insurace and really can't afford another $100. office visit with all the other medical bills I'm paying on already. So unless someone calls me back, I won't find out until the next time I need my OA medication prescription again

Go to their office receptionist, tell them you need a copy of your recent lab reports. They have a medical release form that you can sign, but being you are you, and there in their face with ID, they by law have to give you a copy of that paper (thou they can charge you a copy fee). You have the right to see your files!

Ask your doctor to mail a copy of your actual lab results to you. Ask him for a printout that includes the normal ranges. I would hope there would be no charge for this customer service. Good luck.

Many docs are saying the recent privacy laws (HIPPA) are preventing them from releasing that info over the phone means they have no way to verify they are giving the info to who they believe they're giving the info to. This is a cr**k as all they have to do is ask quetions that only you would know.

Now, that said, give the doc's office a call and ask if they can 1. give you the results over the phone, or 2. mail them to you.

I've been to 2 different docs that both had signs up saying they wouldn't give out results over the phone. One guy had a notice up essentially saying if you weren't going to return for your results, tell the doc so they won't order any unneccary tests! I got my results by mail from both these docs....and one also gave me the info over the phone.
