Yucky Water!

Friday, December 12, 2008

***ROAD BLOCK*** One of the things I am finding difficult to do, is drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day ~ I would rather it be anything else. To give it some flavor, I have started adding the Special K Protien Mix to it, but I know that I need to start adding less mix and more plain water ~ yuck! emoticon I just wish water had something to it, I just seem to gag when I start to drink it. I got a real good suggestion though from one of the members on my spark team: I am going to start introducing water slowly during the day, starting with in the morning. I am going to set a water bottle next to my bed, and when I get up I am going to make myself drink some. Eventually, I will gain up to drinking 8 glasses a day. If any of you have any suggestions, or personal experiences, I would love to hear them.

God Bless,
Pamela emoticon

I wish I had some suggestions for you. Maybe a little bit of lemon juice or lime juice? I love my water. It's just about the only thing I drink other than the occasional iced tea. I feel bad for the gals out there who don't like it, because I'd hate if I had to drink a lot of something that I can't stand! I hope it gets easier for you!!

I usedto feel the same way! What I did was put a small 3 oz. bathroom papercups in the kitchen, everytime I would go in the kitchen I would drink at least one 3 oz. glass of water, You know if you drink three of those down it starts to add up.

Do you like tea? That might help. emoticon

Progress and Questions

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

It has been a couple of days now, since I started following a more Vegetarian lifestyle, and I have to say that I have seen some changes in me. I seem to have more energy, even with the medication I need, and I am working on getting the exercise into motion. I have found it difficult to get the daily protien I need a day, which makes me go over my calorie limit, but I have found that I love Veggie burgers, and now I have an excuse to eat Vegetables all day long if I want emoticon. I am working on giving up my beloved chicken and fish, but I hit a snag when I ended up getting these home style sugar cookies, which are my favorite!! I am doing okay with having them in moderation, but I do have those moments. I do have some questions though, and I would love some advice...

1) What kind of cardio can be done indoors during the winter?

2) What are some good protien and fiber rich foods so I can not be so hungry all the time?

Thanks for the support and comments I have recieved lately, we can do it!!

God Bless,

I like Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds (WATP) videos. Once I got the moves down, I can do it anywhere to any music anytime. Some of my friends love The Firm videos but they are too fast paced for me. There is an older sparker who loves doing Tae Bo. She said she doesn't worry about doing it perfectly: Just get up and move. Whatever you do, have fun doing it.

The best combination of protein and fiber all in one neat little package would be your beans. Legumes, black beans, pinto beans, red beans, chili beans, you name it! My favorite use of a bean is hummus. Yum. I dip veggies in it at lunch and it's just wonderful. lol. Other fiber rich foods would be whole grains, veggies (broccoli springs to mind instantly). Protein rich foods would include some dairy (yogurt and cheese), soy products, eggs (if you haven't cut them out with your vegetarian eating).

Indoor cardio for the winter time ... have you looked into DVDs? I think that would be the most popular choice. I've also got my bike hooked up to an indoor trainer, so it's as good as a stationary bike to me during these dark, cold winter months. I'm already looking forward to spring so I can get back outside! Winter and I don't get along at all!

Starting on the Right Track!!

Monday, December 08, 2008

Ok so I am doing better. I decided that I really wanted to work on reducing my meat intake and since I love vegetables...I started doing some research into Vegetarianism. I am really excited and yesterday when I went to the store, I began to choose healthier food choices than what I have been choosing. I noticed that the foods were so much more bright and colorful, which made me laugh, and I am so happy to try something new. I am also doing some work on my spark page so stay tuned!!

God Bless!

Hi, I just want to say your beautiful. I can see it from the inside through your eyes and your smile, I believe you will do very well. Set some goals, ask questions, paricipate with SP friends and the articles, and the posts. One day at a time. Have fun :))

Hooray for doing your vegetarian research and choosing more veggies to include in your diet! I absolutely LOVE the different colors and textures a vegetarian diet can offer. I'm not completely vegetarian. There's some poultry dishes that I crave from time to time. But I've learned a lot from hanging out on some vegetarian teams and reading up on the diet. Enjoy those colors!! LOL!

For the longest time, I have aquired a love for unhealthy foods, like doritos, fast food, and take out, and even though I know that is how I got here in the first place, I can not help myself. The cravings are so strong, to where I can not get a good night sleep sometimes. For the past 3 days I have gone over my fat and calorie limit, by eating the wrong foods. I do travel also, and am on medication that makes me drowsy all the time, so I struggle in doing any exercise. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me.

God Bless!

See what you think about my new plan, and if it will be helpful for you to try with me:

I invented a new diet, that i will eat 1 bite of nutrition bar every hour, to help me stay focused and overcome any more triggers, but also eat my healthy calculated meals 3 per/day, drink water, take my vitamins, exercise and follow my healthy food journal.

This is my plan to overcome any more triggers.(i had lost control for the past 9 days, and am desperate once again!) Again! I ran-a-muck... gosh darn it! Starting 9:00am tomorrow, i'm starting this hourly diet. Join me!!!
