Ready for May

Saturday, April 30, 2011

Mentally back on track. Did Week 1 Day 1 of Rookie Running program for 5K your way today. Daughter's college graduation in 2 weeks. Hoping to get a couple more 5K races done next month. Looks like I won't make the China trip this year. With better attention to my nutrition, look forward to losing some pounds that have crept back recently and keeping them off for good. I want to reach my goal weight this year. emoticon

I have cute toes

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

emoticon Stopped by the grocery store for dinner after tai chi (Okay, I admit, I did pick up something I could have done without...) but as I was going down an aisle, this guy says to me "You have cute toes. I noticed them before, but I decided to say something..."
Granted, I live in the South, were people will speak to you for no reason, but as a breathing female, that does feel good to hear...LOL Thank goodness for spring and sandals... Now to get the rest of me to match my cute toes! emoticon
Make someone's day and give them a compliment!

You have a point...it only takes a few seconds to give a person a compliment, that can keep their head lifted high for several days...or even longer!

Isn't it amazing how a simple compliment can make our day! I tend to talk to total strangers too, and that's not as socially acceptable in Quebec. But, people warm up quickly and start talking back. I grew up in the US, so I have more of an American mindset than Canadian. emoticon

Love that he noticed, and that he said something, as long as he's not a creepy stalker! emoticon But seriously, what a nice compliment! Makes me want to paint my toenails. You're well on your way to making the rest of you cute too! Keep doing those races and you'll be there in no time! emoticon

Cute - and such an unusual thing for him to notice! Sounds like an effort to strike up a conversation to me. Is he a regular?

I remember in my clubbing days, I was the only person allowed to put my feet up on a chair because the bouncer had a foot fetish and liked my feet!

5K walk run training completed

Friday, April 22, 2011

emoticon 5 weeks of 3 times a week interval training, and I feel good!

It's rainy here, so I'm deciding whether to go to the Jeff Galloway marathon training program in the morning - it's being held at the Art Museum. Turns out Jeff is a local boy, grew up in Raleigh. Could be fun... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Awesome job! I've been piddling around with the C25K thing since December, but not really following the program or pushing myself like I could. When I started, I could barely jog 30 seconds without dying! Yesterday, I did several intervals of 5 minutes, 5-and-a-half minutes, and one that was about 6-and-a-half! I think I'm capable of more - I need someone like Jillian in my face yelling at me, I think!
