Day 30 of 30 :)

Sunday, September 30, 2012

What are you most proud of about your journey towards healthy living during the month of September?"

I suppose that I made it a point to complete this challenge. And I did. Even though it was a little difficult at times. For over a week I was gone to the Smokeys. That meant that I would have to do some planning and make out a weeks worth of blogs ahead of time. Also some days were particularly busy and i found myself at bedtime realizing I hadn't done the blog yet so I would postpone bedtime for 15 min or so and write a blog. Once I think I even forgot but the next day I wrote two.....to catch up.

If I could be that diligent in my quest for weight loss I would be more successful then I am. Doing this challenge has made me realize a few things about myself and I have loved reading the blogs of others. We can learn so much from each other. Its been fun my friends. Good luck to all!

Hello ol' pal - glad to see you back on SP!
I myself have suffered the dreaded "rebound" (regain) & trying to find my mojo again, for my poor lil' pony's sake if nothing else...
Through it all I have kept blogging, more as a mental health exercise than anything else. I do not like the awkward SP archival system :-(

Best wishes,

I'm glad that you did this, else I would not have found out about it (and made a few new friends in the process).

Got any goals / plans for October?

Totally agree with both your conclusions... self insights and good to see what I can learn from others! Thanks for being a part of it! emoticon

Leader dogs and rescue horses; such great reasons to be an animal lover!

I agree, this should be a very interesting question!!

This promises to be one of the most fascinating questions in the series, don't you think? Give your new horse a special hug!

What do you do for wellness? For example, to increase emotional, spiritual, or intellectual well-being? "

My horses and boxers are what keep me emotionally well :) Very very important to be emotionally checked into life. Every time I see an ad on tv for some medication to make you better able to "handle life" I think if they could buy a horse they wouldnt need those pills. Same result but you can ride a horse!

Day 27 of 30 :)

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Have you ever hired anyone to help you with your journey? A personal trainer. A dietician/nutritionist? A wellness coach? A life coach? What worked and didn't work? "

When I joined the Y I saw a personal trainer only one time. It was just too embarrassing for me to do that in front of all the other gym members. I seriously think I need to see a therapist to find our WHY I have the sabotaging habits I do.

Day 26 of 30:)

"Do you like to exercise alone, with a partner, in a small group, or in a large group? Why? "

I think?? I would like to exercise with ANYONE! I have looked under the area I live in on sparkpeople to see if I could find someone to run, hike, bike etc with but no luck. Everyone lives too far away or doesnt own a bike or doesnt run... blah blah blah.......I often wonder "is this my current excuse for not exercising?" I know in my heart that i cannot depend on anyone but me during this journey. I just think sometimes that it might be easier to exercise if I had a partner.....but again I suspect that might just be a reason i can tell myself that I dont want to run today. lol Do I know myself or what?

I do most of my exercise alone. I know I need to do different workouts, and that is where classes at the Y have helped me with variety AND finding other folks.

LOL... great honesty there. I know myself to be a loner... and prefer to exercise alone... but sometimes the days when you don't feel like it? An appointment to meet someone else to walk will get you out the door. It's all about what will get us to start! Because once started, most of us keep on going.

You know yourself... and emoticon
