I FEEL YOUR PAIN! It wasn't my provider's fault, but I've been having internet problems for about 1.5 weeks. Just realized after being at my friend's during the Steeler game on Sunday with my laptop... It's not my laptop... It was wireless router. I probably have had the thing for 6+ years. It was time to get a new one. DH finally got everything set up last night. I'm zooming right along now. I'll be here hoping that they get you fixed up quickly. Looking forward to reading what you post next.

Friendship in Poems

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Last night I was to tired.. yeah finally able to go to sleep at a reasonable time. Not before I was reading and thinking of the beautiful gift we are able to give everyday.
That Gift is free and lifts the heart. It is the Gift of Friendship. No fees No returns no less a precious commodity.
So I looked and found three i wanted to share .
Hope you know these come from my heart and Gift to you all.

A friend will always.......

Cheer you up,
When you're blue

Listen to all your woes
Help you out with your foes

Encourage you to succeed
Know when you are in need

Remember you on special days
Help you out in so many ways

Tell you how things really are
Remember you from afar

Give you what support they can
Be your true and loyal fan

Love you in good times or bad
Build you up when you're sad

Help you when you've done it wrong
Remind you that you do belong

Give you a pat on the back
Tell you when you've got the knack

Hug you just to console
Remind you that you have a goal

Celebrate your victories
Pick you up from your knees

Be with you when you're down
And try to wipe away your frown
~Author unknown

I want you to know ..........

You entered my life,
and love began to grow.
And with each passing day,
Our friendship continues to glow.

My friend, I want you to know...

You're the sunshine,
That brightens my day!
You're the rainbow in my heart,
That will never fade away!

You're the sparkle in my eyes,
As I watch the sunrise.
You're the diamond and jade,
in my day,
Filled with a surprise!

You're my angel, and my friend,
all rolled into one.
You're always there,
with love and joy,
to share with everyone.

From the morning light,
Through the setting sun.
You're the one...
That makes life so much fun!

You and I, forever friends...
For that is how, it was meant to be.
Thank you my friend,
For sharing your life and loving me!
~Author unknown

Confide in a friend......
When you're tired and worn
at the close of the day
And things just don't seem to be going your way,
And even your patience has come to an end,
Try taking time out and confide in a friend.

Perhaps she too may have walked the same road
With a much troubled heart and a burdensome load,
To find peace and comfort somewhere near the end,
When she stopped long enough to confide in a friend.

For then are most welcome a few words of cheer,
For someone who willingly lends you an ear.
No troubles exist that time cannot mend,
But to get quick relief, just confide in a forever friend.

Things I read and Think About

Monday, September 21, 2009

Lately my nights get occupied with reading quotes and poems and I try to equate them with our lives today. Here this moment, SP and feeling we have buried or want to share with our teams.
I was thinking about my parents and my sister and what came to mind was the poem by John Donne.
No man is an island
No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
~John Donne
To me it touches the essence of what we all are to eachother here and now. Some of us know some SP members off the computer, others know us on the computer. Yet we are all intertwined in hearts, mind and spirit.
We are all here on the same journey, maybe different roads but heading in the same direction.
Isn't it wonderful that we are here offering our support, inspiration and even our opinions.
Hands across the barriers of time and space. Some are miles away others oceans away and yet we are all here to guide, help and comfort eachother.
No Not crazy talk, just speaking from my heart.
No judgements no forcing views on others just giving and receiving things we need to get through life as best we can.
On that note I will say good Night or good morning depending on who or when you are reading this.
Today I am grateful for the ability to share with an open heart...

“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is so very beautiful and very true.We are all connected.I was told once to envision a thread that is linked to every person you see. This thread goes around the world, not just people in our own sight.Every thing that happens to one touches all.And think about this:if we take a cup of water from the ocean, does it deminish the ocean?

Please know this is Not a Pity Party..

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Today a question was asked in my BC group and It caused me to get very reflective an emotional. What you are about to read is Not A Pity Party nor do I want any pity.
I just feel like I need to write this and Maybe one person can benefit from what Not to do.
Let me also say I am Grateful to be alive and able to do this today. It in it self is a very enlightening and eye opening experience for me.
Big Hugs and Thank You to all of you who have inspired me on this new journey.

Breast Cancer Team question of the day 9/19/09

What I learned from having Cancer...

One good question and it opens a flood gate of emotions
What did I learn.....
I learned that I put myself 2nd because my sister was very ill and in the end passed while I was getting radiation treatment.

I learned that I am carrying so much guilt for not spending enough time with her.
I learned that I showed everybody how I use humor to hide what I was really feeling.

I learned that I never grieved for me.

I Learned that when DH's God Father and wife came to Florida for a visit. I went to Sea world with them and found out later my sister's S/O bad mouthed me for not seeing my sister instead.

I learned to put me 2nd or 3rd in everything even when the Cancer Center counselors told me I had to make me #1.
I told them I never learned how to do it. When I did try to I always suffered the consequences with guilt.

I did Learn that God Gave Me a loving Husband to stand by me and a Second change to Live and to enjoy LIving and giving back where I can.

I am not writing this for Pity or having a pity party.

I am writing this as a Thank You for the Question so I can put this out there and bury it in a box and walk away from these feelings.

Move on with the God Given Gift of Life and do what I can to Pay it Forward.

I feel that many people have the problem of not being able to put ourselves first.....maybe it's
in our genes, I don't know ! And we shouldn't be made to feel guilty, as a result of putting
ourselves up there in number #1 ! You are smart in putting those feelings up front.... and
then releasing them, so they don't overpower you in the present and future ! emoticon

Thank you! Sometimes I think people misinterpret what we say or do and then turn in around so that to them we appear wrong or accusing when we are only looking out for ourselves for a change and they are not used to that.
Thanks for helping me remember that and to let go of these things.

When I feel guilty the next time, I will remember your blog and realize that there is only so much time in each day. I want to make mine all count. Thanks for your post. emoticon
