God is Like.... Fifth Grade Kids answer

A fifth grade teacher in a Christian school asked her class to look at TV commercials and see if they could use them in some way to communicate ideas about God..

Here are some of the results: scroll down.

God is like....
He works miracles.

God is like.....
He's got a better idea..

God is like....
He's the real thing.

God is like......
He cares enough to send His very best..

God is like.....
He gets the stains out that others leave behind. ..

God is like....
He brings good things to life.

God is like....
He has everything.

God is like......
Try Him, you'll like Him

God is like.....
You can't see Him, but you know He's there.

God is like...
He's ready when you are.

God is like.....
You're in good hands with Him.

God is like.....
VO-5 Hair Spray ;
He holds through all kinds of weather

God is like. ...
Aren't you glad you have Him? Don't you wish everybody did?

God is like ......
Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet nor ice will keep Him from
His appointed destination.

God is like. ....
Chevrolet. . . .the heart beat of America

God is like.....
Maxwell House. . .
Good to the very last drop

God is like.....
B o u n t y .. . . ..
He is the quicker picker upper. . can handle the tough jobs. ...
and He won't fall apart on you

Share this so that all can know what God is like.......
( only! if you want to)!

Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can, there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did.”

two things to share..

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

First I want to Thank you all for reading my Blogs.. Believe it or not it gives me Heart Hugs to know that. Thank you all for the wishes... To Barbara.. I did sleep pretty good last night after watching Leno. Guess he is a better sleeping aid. LOL

Two emails today were amazing.. One is
Larry's Proverbs...Don't know who Larry is, My guess he is Maxine's Boyfriend or her competition..
You decide for your self.
The second is a link that I was just mesmerized with the impact and Beauty of it. It in my opinion needed to be shared.

Here is Larry....

Larry's Proverbs

1.A day without sunshine is like night.

2. On the other hand, you have different fingers.

3. 42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

4. 99 percent of lawyers give the rest a bad name.

5. Remember, half the people you know are below average.

6. He who laughs last, thinks slowest.

7. Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

8. The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese
in the trap.

9. Support bacteria. They're the only culture most people have.

10. A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.

11. Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.

12. If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

13. How many of you believe in psycho-kinesis? Raise my hand.

14. OK, so what's the speed of dark?

15. When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

16. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.

17. How much deeper would the ocean be without sponges?

18. Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

19. What happens if you get scared half to death, twice?

20. Why do psychics have to ask you your name?

21. Inside every older person is a younger person wondering, 'What the
heck happened?'

22. Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would all fall off.

23. Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright
until you hear them speak.

24. Life isn't like a box of chocolates. It's more like a jar of
jalapeños. What you do today, might burn your butt tomorrow.

Here is the other one: Sit back and just relax...

A Gift of Friendship

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

It is late here than I expected to be up. Oh so late for me. Just could not sleep
So I decided to read quotes and then decided to share them. If they brighten your day I will be happy. If it mends a friendship all the better.
Now I think I will try to sleep.
Sweet Dreams all and Have a better and Brighter tomorrow.

"Do not save your loving speeches
For your friends till they are dead;
Do not write them on their tombstones,
Speak them rather now instead.
- Anna Cummins

Welcome the coming, speed the parting guest."

- Albert Einstien (Sent by Brandon Merenda)

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part of life is sunshine."
- Thomas Jefferson (Sent by Shawn)

"The world would be so lonely, in sunny hours or gray. Without the gift of friendship, to help us every day."
- Hilda Brett Farr

"All love that has not friendship for its base, is like a mansion built upon the sand."
- Ella Wheeler Wilcox

"In a friend you find a second self."

Sometimes I can't sleep if I watch CSI or Criminal Minds, but jay really helped me....going to see if it works tonight too!!!'

Just Sharing and Saying Good Night

Monday, September 14, 2009

Just wanted to share a few quotes before I call it a night. I found them very interesting and a couple a little funny Until I really thought about it..
Wishing you all a Sweet Dream filled Night.

Alan Bennett:
Life is rather like a tin of sardines - we're all of us looking for the key.

Bertrand Russell:
The good life is inspired by love and guided by knowledge

"While both joy and sorrow are fleeting, and often intertwined, love has the power to overcome both. And love can last forever." ~ Deb Plouse Fulton, in A Second Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul

"Photographs are precious memories . . . the visual evidence of place and time and relationships . . . ritual talismans for the treasure chest of the heart." ~ Robert Fulghum, in From Beginning to End

Captain Jean-Luc Picard:
Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived.
played by Patrick Stewart, from the film "Star Trek: Generations"

Charles Schulz:
My life has no purpose, no direction, no aim, no meaning, and yet I'm happy. I can't figure it out. What am I doing right?

Corita Kent:
Life is a succession of moments. To live each one is to succeed.

Eleanor Roosevelt:
I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.

Henri Frederick Amiel:
Life is short and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are traveling the dark journey with us. Oh be swift to love, make haste to be kind.

Henry Van Dyke:
Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, to work, to play, and to look up at the stars.

Maxine's Rebuttal's to Martha Stewart

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Kitchen Wisdom Maxine's rebuttal to Martha Stewart

Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone to prevent ice cream drips.

Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway!

To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix. Keeps in the pantry for up to a year.

When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.

Go to the bakery! Hell, they'll even decorate it for you!

If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant 'fix-me-up.'

If you over-salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me the real woman's motto: 'I made it, you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes!'

Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

Celery? Never heard of it!

Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I don't.

Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink! All your pains go away!

If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dish washing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

When in doubt..Go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

Leftover wine??????????? HELLO!!!!!!!

Lastly, if you don't forward this to 1 of your friends within the next 5 minutes your belly button will unscrew and your butt will fall off.

Really.... It's true! Have I ever lied to you????
