Spring Challenge - Assignment No 3

Why I want to lose weight! Well, it is so that I will:

- Feel healthy and strong

- Have more energy

- Feel more comfortable in my clothes

- Be able to fit into the clothes in my 'slim' part of the closet

- Feel more confident

- Be able to wear a swimsuit this summer with confidence

- Be able to walk and hike our Cornish hills and moors with ease

- Make my family proud of me

- And be able to say I DID IT and feel a sense of pride and achievement in myself

Ready For the Spring 5% Challenge

Am looking forward to the 17th March and becoming a Firecracker again. With this in view I am making the following preparations!

emoticonMy wallking shoes and clothes are ready to go!

emoticonMy diet will mean sensible choices and sensible portions!

emoticonI know how to connect with my team mates and will check in each day

Motivational March!

I feel that spring is in the air, and spring is in my step! I must admit that I am pleased that February is now behind me and that I do feel more positive! I am feeling ready to meet the challenges that I am committed to, so that by the end of this month I will be well on the way to feeling comfortable in lighter clothes.

Vacation Time

I just want to say a big 'thank you' to all those who gave me such good advice yesterday on handling my upcoming vacation! I will only be away for 5 days but I know from past experience that you can incur a lot of 'diet damage' in that short time!

So, I will be a Firecracker again next weekend - in the meantime, everyone have a great week!

Now for the Real Challenge!

Part of this week's challenge on Firecrackers is to blog each day. I am not a natural blogger but will do my best!

I have learned such a lot since joining the Firecracker team. I have learned discipline - I am not always successful but a tiny step forward is better than nothing! I have learned that team support and encouragement is essential - how lovely to see a Well Done goodie arrive on your page!

I won't be able to blog every day this week because I am going on a short vacation. I am so looking forward to it, but there is a little niggle going on in the back of my mind! I don't want to come back from a beach holiday looking like the whale that might have landed on the beach!

So....I need a strategy! I plan to do my best to select fresh healthy food - and not too much of it! If I snack I will try to choose fruit or yogurt. I am also going to try and actually swim as opposed to sitting by the pool or on the beach all the time!

Any other useful advice would be more than welcome!

    You sound so positive that I believe you will stick to it 95% of the time. Why 5% not - well you are on holidays and you should have a small treat or two.

    Having a plan before you head off is a great start and I know you will do well. Just keep in mind what you have said and you will be fine. Like the previous lady said I usually take a few of my trusty snacks with me when I go on vacation, fruit is great but sometimes you just might need something else.

    The only thing I would add is portion control. I know I don't always have the time or ability to track while I'm on vacation. So I eat the things I love but watch how much! Enjoy your trip - swim, walk, relax!

    It's nice to see you blogging!!
I find that walking on the beach is so much more difficult than walking on solid ground so take a walk on the beach and I'm quite sure you'll burn away those calories!

    First I want to say WooHoo to Beach Vacations! I have not been to the beach since we moved here. Too Long!!
If it really is a beach try some sand walking, that will surely burn up extra calories as well as the swimming. Try walking backward too, that will have your legs singing, lol! So glad you have a plan for your snacks and eating. Just don't forget the water!
You are doing great with your exercise too for this challenge. So glad you joined Firecrackers. Group hug!!

    Yay for vacations!!!! I usually take a few healthy snacks with me on my trips so that I know I will have something if there aren't any healthy options at my destination. And when I started SP I thought that points, goodies etc were silly, but now I realize that it can make the difference when I am struggling to make good choices on any given day! Have a great time, and catch some sun for me too!
