Well, it has been quite a while since I've been back and active on this site, but the one thing that I know, is that when I get serious about my weight management - I need to be here! I have put on several pounds, 30 to be exact. I have made the commitment to get down by December 2014, which I believe is feasible.
I have started bike riding in addition to walking daily. I have just started back with protein shakes and better nutritional choices. Today is my 2nd day without pop, which is a great milestone for me. I believe I will definitely see the pounds drop with just that small effort alone.

Yes, I've been MIA for a couple of weeks, but not because I've fallen off the wagon, but because I recently moved and my cable/telephone/internet were not installed until a couple of days ago. This meant that I could not communicate like I normally would. I know I could have went to the library, etc. etc. etc. but the fact is I didn't. I did a lot of visiting (some things I just had to see on the H2 Channel - which appears funny to my family because the History Channel is history! Which is not anything current). Everyone has their vices, and mine happens to be history, especially presidential information.
Anyway, you won't believe how much my family is enjoying my juicer. My mom and sister come over every couple of days with their fixings so I can put together their Diabetic breakfast and juices for their protein shakes. Although, I must admit that I wasn't that excited about it when they came over right after I had moved - I was exhausted, and things were not in order. I did up the drinks for them anyway, as I wanted them to keep the momentum going. During this move, I actually dropped down 2 pounds, which was surprising, as I wasn't exactly eating the best - only grabbing something when I was starving.
So, I'm back in gear again. I woke up and packed my gym bag and I'm to the gym right after work today. Wish me strength, as I plan on putting in a long one today.

Well, I successfully made it through Mother's Day weekend without any major mishaps, which was hard. On Saturday I felt a little sluggish, but I guess it could be because I woke up so early in preparation of this new Spring challenge. I put together my juices for the day, but midday I realized that I was better off having a real lunch versus waiting until dinner for my 1 solid meal. I had a lot of things that I was sorting through mentally, so I didn't spend much time focusing on much else. I found a dream apartment, but I'm just hopeful that it will happen for me. It's about the same square footage as my house was, give or take a basement.
On Sunday was service with the family. I got up early again and juiced, and then got ready for service. It was nice, and my older borther joined us. After the service I came home and took a brief nap. After waking up my Mom came over and I cooked dinner for her and we watched the "Life of Pi" before the girls returned home. After my Mom and my daughter left I went to the basement and did some strength training and walking on the treadmill before going to bed. I'm glad for the challenge because if I was not worried about letting the team down, I definitely would not have exercised that night. Although, this morning when I weighed, I was down another pound.
This morning started out good as well. I actually found a new juice drink mix that works well with the protein powder, so I'm good. I was actually excited about finishing it this morning.

Well I've been juicing now for 6 days, and I must say I am enjoying it. On day 3 I had a bad headache because I was missing the pop and vending machine, but it was over by midday. I still have not gone a complete day without a meal, and today I begin the 5 juices and 1 evening meal cleanse for 3 days (Joe Cross).
I've been reading the Juicing Bible and found some nice recipes for diabetes that I referred to my sisters. They are on day 2 of drinking the Diabetes Breakfast. I made them up a couple of batches yesterday and placed them in mason jars. I juiced so much product yesterday that the juicer got heated, and we had to give it a break. We actually filled the recepticle 4 times! Anyway, it's nice to know that more of my family is trying to gain a healthier outlook on food and lifestyle. I have some pics of my daughter and I juicing. It's funny because we were amazed at the different coloring some produce put out, so we not only took pictures of us in the process, but just the colors themselves.
This morning started out with a breakfast of 1/2 a banana, 2 strawberries, 8 oz of unsweetened Almond Milk, and protein powder. It was okay, but next time I need to include ice, because luke warm doesn't quite make the grade. I do know one thing, since I have incorporated the juicing, I have had so much more energy. I have gotten up early the last 3 days without an alarm, and I've required less sleep. My daughter says it could be a number of things, since I've also changed my vitamin regimen, and I've incorporated more physical activity at work (stairs versus elevator), and started using all natural health care products. We'll see.
Right now I'm getting ready to get my workout on. I'm about to wake up my daughter so she can show me how to connect my computer to the television so I can do a Spark workout. It's good to have kids now, so you don't have to think about ALL the tech stuff ALL the time!
