Hello Everyone so today is the weigh in day. Let's get right down to business; the scale read 176.50. I gained half a pound. Let's just say that I am not disappointed with the scale this week because I slacked a little on the goals this week.
It started on Monday when I had to go to my son's Thanksgiving Day Lunch. This is not my usual lunch (turkey, mash potatoes, dressing, cranberry sauce, one roll and a half, and at least 3 chocolate chip cookies, and wash it down with two cups of Coke). Add in a little stress from my son acting out because he did not win his race and then he started to act out by hitting his friends. I did not reach for food, but it just played over and over in my head (internal stress). He is only 5, and I know some of this is normal 5 year old frustration, but he is also autistic. My son is very smart and funny, but he is lacking in the social skills which is a common trait of autistic children. His teacher is very understanding and helpful so that is comforting to know his disability is understood. To wrap this day up, I overate and was emotionally stressed.
Tuesday I did not sleep well the night before so I did not have the energy to do my 30 minutes of strength training. I could not do my one hour + walk because I am trying to reactivate my Mary Kay business and I met with 2 wonderful ladies that spent over 2 hours updating me on things and when they get together for meetings. Just like Spark, I need the social contact to stay motivated in my Mary Kay business. The meeting was within walking distance to my house so I chose to walk there and push my 2 year old in the stroller. After the meeting I got in a 30 minute walk by walking home the long way (walking to the front gate, through my gated community back to the back gate where I live).
Wednesday was a normal day for me. I did my 30 minutes of cardio and I walked for an hour +, ate healthy, and got the proper sleep the night before. Turkey day was good and bad. I will blog later about my first Turkey Trot. I cooked Thanksgiving Dinner at my house for my family of 4. We had a 7.25 lbs. young turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes (one large potato), yams (one large yam), mac and cheese (for the kids), cranberry sauce, fresh steamed green beans, and gravy. Let's just say I overindulged. So I am not surprised the scale did not bulge and instead showed a gain.
Next week I will back to my regular routine. So let's see what the scale reads. I am stepping up my exercise from walking to jogging.
