Well I am back. It seems that I start something and then something happens and I just stop. Well I can't this time. Yesterday I went to the doctor and was told I have diabetes. Regular blood tests show that I don't have it but my doctor did an extensive blood test that breaks everything down. He wanted to find out why I had heart disease at 49. They figured it out. I have an extremely high insulin level. This was causing the walls of my arteries to erode. Thus heart disease at 49. Well now is the time for me to be more motivated, to have enough confidence in myself to do this. I have to lose weight if I want to live out a healthy life with my family.

I can do this and I will do this. I will not let anything get in my way. I might need to be reminded of this on a daily basis. But I CAN DO THIS. I will not let other people influence me any longer. I will not let other people make me feel inferior. I am somebody special and I have so much to give.

I CAN DO THIS!! With God all Things are Possible.

I was diabetic and was morbidly obese (357lbs) and I have heart disease.(Left Bundle Branch Block) I was so low that I did not know what I was going to do. Until, one day I said out loud to myself. "Judy, if you don't stop this (meaning my mindless eating and binging) you are going to die." I asked my Savior for His help to lose the weight (See my Sparkpage SINGINGLADY47 for my complete story). I now weigh 120 and my last blood work is ALL normal. I am not going to say that I don't have issues but I want you to know that YOU CAN DO THIS and JESUS is your strength. The day my doctor told me that I was NO LONGER MORBIDLY OBESE and NO LONGER DIABETIC, I could not believe it. In fact, I made her say it again. I am not saying that the weight loss will cure the diabetes. I only know that it did for me. I know things can look so hopeless and scary at times but you have a Partner in the Lord and you have a family with Keep Walking With Jesus who are eager to support and encourage you. Please know that we are all here for you so when you need help, just want to vent or have questions or suggestions, it only takes a minute to reach out. We are all in this together and the Lord is right there with us. God bless you. Have a wonderful Wednesday evening. Judy emoticon

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Diabetes runs in my family and I understand what a challenge that can be for overall, long term health. But you've started in the right direction and you can definitely make a change to diabetes with a change in your eating. Stay strong and you know you can do this! emoticon

May 6, 2014 - 5

Well I made it through the weekend and felt horrible that I didn't track my food intake. But thanks to God I lost 3 pounds. I know it is just water weight as this point but I feel that He is motivating me by the 3 pound loss. It certainly worked. Yesterday I made sure I tracked everything and this morning I joined some support groups and added friends to my page.

With God all Things are Possible.

Good start. I might also suggest you set a small goal each day. Such as take a small walk for 5 minutes tomorrow, or eat a piece of fruit rather than something sweet. Little goals will lead to big successes. Just challenge yourself in some small way each day and the scale will be your friend more than not! Congrats on journally your food. That helps me a lot!

Today is the day that I begin to finally take control. I am 308 and pounds and I know that is not good for my heart. I want to be here for my family and watch all of them grow old. I want to be "front porch sittin" with my wonderful husband at the end of the day. I know that With God all thing are possible. I know that with Gods support and the support of my family and friends I can do this. Wish me luck everyone.

YOU TOOK THAT FIRST 'STEP'--- That was the most important one! Now continue to move "forward' and only look back to learn and reminisce! Continue to focus on the goal post ahead, take it in small increments! Change one thing at a time..... drink plenty of water, pray, pray, pray! Listen to God--- He will lead you! We are here for you too!

We understand the importance of proper nutrition in achieving and maintaining health and appearance goals. Please give us the wisdom to plan healthy meals in advance and the discipline to stick to that plan."
