I made my goal

I have lost 30 pounds, & surpassed my goal!! I started at 157, & i now weight 127. My goal was for 130. I have to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to spark people, & the man that started it all!!! This website totally taught me how to eat healthier, & to do exercises that "wouldnt kill me", lol, & it all worked, without much difficulty, or hunger!! The people that put out the recipes & support are awesome to!! It all worked together, so well for me, & I will keep up this lifestyle. I have told everybody i know about this website!!! Thank you all, so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Donna

Accepting new challenges

Sometimes its hard for us to accept a new challenge!! Maybe it's the fear of failure, or at least for me, it is. I've been on Sparkpeople for about 8 weeks now, & i feel like i have really grown!! I received an e-mail from them, regarding the challenge of Sparkpeople 5 K your way. I thought no, i cant do that much. Then the more i thought about it, i went for the challenge. I figured that the training would help me push myself a little bit further than i have been. I'm going to work hard at it, & do my best. When its actually time for the 5K, im going to do my best to complete it. If i cant do the whole 5, i am going to be proud of myself, for every mile, that i do make it!!! Dont be afraid to try a challenge! There is no failure in it, if you dont meet your goal. Only satisfaction in what you do acheive!!! emoticon

  Way to GO! Good luck on the 5K. I just started today exercising after telling myself I will do (after about 8 weeks rejoining SPARK). It's been about 9 years since I ran, and acutally ran steadily for awhile (8 minutes)! I'm going to aim for 3 days a week of this and push myself!

    I believe you will do great in the 5k! The key is get out there walk as far as you can, take a friend or mp3 and those miles will fly by!

    Well put, and my favorite quote is "You cannot FAIL if you don't QUIT." I envy you running, I cannot due to a very bad knee....but there are so many things I CAN do! It's all in the way you look at things....good luck on your training and running that 5K, your right, you CAN do it!!
