Now that I have finished getting my points for the day, I noticed that I did not get any e-mails from Sparkpeople's coaches. No recipes, polls or articles. Hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder did anyone else miss them or was it just me.

Well this morning I went to Curves, thinking we were going to get another dumping of snow. We never did we just got what we got over the night time, and the roads were clear but slushy.

I came home and spent time reading and doing e-mails. I made plane reservations for a June visit my sister who lives in Franklin NC. I will fly into Asheville N.C. We plan to stay at a bed and breakfast or maybe just a motel and see the town and then travel to Franklin which is in the mountains. I am looking forward to sister time, just the two of us. She has some neat friends some which I have met and others who I will meet. My sister is a jewellery artist and does lots of creations which I proudly wear.

My dh asked me to make a noodle and beef recipe that I haven't made in a very long time, so that's what I did. So we have enough for two meals.

I had a conference call tonite which didn't last too long, because I wanted to watch "The Bachelor". I taped it and watched it in its entirety. I can't wait til next week when he picks his future wife. I hope he picks Tenley, but I have a feeling that he will pick Vienna. She is more adventurous. Tenley is more his type and more mature. But in the end its his choice.

When I am finished I will read and try to finish "The Piano Teacher". Its a story about the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong during WW II. A bitter story, but interesting characters involved.

This afternoon we picked up our friends and went to hear The Milwaukee Jewish Community Chorale in concert with Dennis Janzer. She and I are co-Presidents of the Chorale so our dh went along for the concert too.

The Milwaukee Jewish C0ommunity Chorale is a volunteer choir that first performed in 1994 for the celebration honoring Milwaukee Jewry's 150th Anniversary. It has since become known as a provider of Jewish music to Wisconsin's myriad communities. They have performed in New York City, Chicago Illinois and Israel.

They sang two pieces that Dennis Janzer wrote for Organ and Choir. They were "Celebrate and Sing" and "Who Shall Ascend - Psalm 24".

Dennis Janzer is an award-winning composer with a Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) in Composition from the University of Miami. He also holds other degrees, including a Masters of Science in Bio-medical Engineering from Marquette University as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Theory/Composition from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. An annual recipient of ASCAP awards, Dr. Janzer is active as a composer and performer, with compositions that range from organ miniatures to large symphonic works. A number of his new compositions involving organ student instruction are used at the American Guild of Organist's Pipe Organ Encounters.

This event was an outstanding opportunity for the Milwaukee Jewish Community Chorale and Dennis Janzer to perform together at St. Joseph Center Chapel. The MacDowell Club of Milwaukee hosted the program.

Dennis remarked to the Chorale Director, after the performance, that this performance of his music, by the Chorale, was the best he had ever heard done.

Other Organists also performed this afternoon, which included several instrumental solos by a flutist, trumpet and clarinet player. There was also a piece by two organists, which is very unusual, because you rarely have two hugh organs in the same location.

After the performance a group of us (nine) went to Paul's Omega restaurant which I had been to last week, with my friend, when I took her to the airport. This time I was accompanied by my dh who had his pork chop. I had my Greek Salad once again and ate my 2.4 oz roll. This time I stopped at one and didn't take any home.

It was a very nice day and now I will watch a little TV and read "The Piano Teacher" which I need to have finished by next week for my book club.

This reminds me of a Jewish group on a cruise ship one time. Everyone on the ship was invited one afternoon to the performance and one gentleman sang and he was wonderful; what a voice. I would have to check what ship and when. The group was with(Ithink) David's Travel and they deal with Jewish travelers. I am sure you have a great afternoon. emoticon

We just got home from seeing "Crazy Heart" with Jeff Bridges. He is nominated for best actor and I think after seeing this movie, he should get the Oscar.

This morning I went to Curves and then came home and spent a quiet afternoon on the computer. My daughter e-mailed me that my granddaughter Brynn landed in Argentina at 6:00 a.m. and was very excited to meet her host familia.
She didn't sleep a wink on the plane for all the excitement. So now I have two granddaughters out of the country.

Sarah is doing a two month school experience at the Alexander Muss High School in Israel program. She is studying the history of Israel and then going to the sites that they just learned about. This coming week they are going to study the crusades and into the medieval period.

What a wonderful world these kids live in and what wonderful experiences they will have.

After the movie we went to my favorite restaurant Zaffaros for a kitchen sink salad and a medium pizza. It was delicious to say the least.

The rest of the evening will be watching the Olympics and reading.

Yesterday I started reading Michael Crichton's book "Pirates Latitudes" and couldn't put it down. I finished reading it at 2:00 a.m. this morning. Its about the Caribbean pirates. I usually don't like that kind of book, but this one was based on fact and I found the history of that period very interesting. Tonite I will start "U is for Undertow" by Sue Grafton. My dh picked up two more books at the library, so I am set for this week.

This morning I had to get up early and with 5 hours sleep, went to Weight Watchers. Then went to Curves for my exercise and came home to change clothes and went to "Current events" at our synagogue. After that I went to play bridge.

The bridge game was terrible. No cards and I came in last. It was awful.

I got home and had a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Museum's restaurant.

Many years ago I worked for Greyhound Bus Lines working my way up to road supervisor. One of the networking organizations I belonged to at that time was
Wisconsin Women in Travel. The group was made up of transportation providers and travel agents. This was before the internet. It was a very active group of women and we did a lot of networking and traveling. They continued to meet over the years but I did not continue going to their meetings because I had left the industry in 1989.

I met one of the former Presidents who had been a travel agent and since retired, at a theatre night and she told me that the group was still meeting and I should come to the meetings. She took my name and e-mail and they invited me to tonites meeting at the Harley Davidson restaurant.

They just meet for dinner and no real business is discussed since many of the women are retired and some no longer are in the transportation industry. I didn't know any of the women who attended tonites dinner but enjoyed the conversation around the table. I am not sure I will attend any future meetings.

The menu was difficult from which to order, since there weren't any friendly menu items offered. So I chose to have a hamburger and had them cut it in half and put it in a box straight away, so I wouldn't see it, and be tempted to eat it. I ordered a chopped salad instead of french fries. So I counted it as 10 points with all the stuff on it include 1/2 the roll.

So now I will finish and watch the Olympics.

I can't say the pirate book would be for me, but I do like
Sue Grafton.

You did a very nice job with your dinner plans.

You also are one busy lady.
