I was very relaxed this morning and just answered some e-mails, did some bookwork and watched "The View" with my dh. Then about 11:00 a.m. I showered and got dressed for my afternoon group of "scrabble" Its was a BR home. She lives in an upscale subdivision and has a beautiful home. She served fruit, nuts and I drank all my water while we played. I won one game. On one turn I got 54 points. A record to be sure.
This evening I warmed up the Black Bean Chicken which was very good.
I have eaten very well today, drank my water and completed my 10K steps.
Tomorrow I am going to lunch with my friend WW before she and her dh leave for Florida for the winter. I am also going to try to get to a sporting goods store and buy some dumbbells for strength exercises that I can do at home. We are planning to have Salmon for dinner since I weigh in on Thursday.
So today is my birthday and I have been having a wonderful day. This morning my SIL called me from Dallas, my sister called me from North Carolina, my cousin called me from New Mexico, my friends called me that are in town and I have been receiving e-mails from family and friends all over the US.
I went to a meeting of our "Social Science Club" and this meeting was to determine the future of the club. We decided to change the format and direction of the club and so hopefully will survive. This club has been in existence for over 100 years. I was hoping that it would not disband.
I stopped at TJ Maxx on the way home and found several outfits that are warm and adorable for the cold winter days in Milwaukee. I also bought 2 pair of corduroys in a size 10. I couldn't believe it when I put on the 12's and they were too big. So I though I'll try a 10 and see if I can get into them. Wow, they fit. I am going to wear SIZE 10 across my tush. When I brought my purchases home my dh loved each outfit.
All afternoon I have been at the computer retrieving e-mails from my nieces in Alabama and Dallas and thanking all my spark friends for their birthday blessings and goodies they sent me. My friends and family on Facebook also e-mailed me blessings and good wishes. I am truly blessed with family and friends who care.
Tonite we are finally going to the Mongolian Barbecue for dinner. I am looking forward to it. Its been a long time since we have been there.
I have drunk my water, will do my 10K steps by midnight (which I didn't do yesterday) and my food will be right on target.
This morning we had flu shots at our synagogue before our Town Hall meeting. Both went very well. At the town hall meeting they served lunch which was beautiful. I had just eaten an eggbeater omelet so I really wasn't hungry so I could limit myself to 1/2 cup of tuna salad and some fruit.
I drank my water at the meeting so I was all done drinking early in the day.
We came home and I had put my Black Bean Chicken in the slow cooker and it smelled so good when we entered the condo.
My friend DT and her husband called and I invited them for dinner, since I had plenty and knew this meal she could eat. She is lactose intolerant. Her dh on the other hand could not eat it because it was too spicy for him. He has prostrate problems and spicy foods aggravate his problem. He brought his own leftovers which I just warmed in the microwave. We made salad and ate dinner after we played hearts for about an hour. After dinner we played another game of hearts and they just left since AT needed to get up early to be in Madison Wisconsin at 7:00 a.m. He is a board examiner for hairdressers.
My friends from the team RubyLite jumped the gun and are all wishing me a Happy Birthday. They thought it was today but its really tomorrow. So I am happy to celebrate and receive all kinds of good wishes for two days instead of only one.
Tomorrow we are going to Mongolian Barbecue for dinner. Unless something happens to change our plans. But I don't think so.
Food is good, water done and I will get my 10K steps in by midnight tonite.
This is quite early for me to blog about my day, but I will be busy all day.
I stayed up til 2:00 a.m. this morning and got up to the doorbell ringing and my friend DT picking up her "Mike and Ike" candy that we bought for her at Sam's the other day. They have a membership at Cosco and she buys me lox (smoked salmon) because Sam's hasn't had it for a number of months.
So as long as I was up I got on my computer and chatted with my friends at SP.
My dh came home from breakfast at McDonald's with his guy friends and he got a call for a pickup from one of the caretakers to take her to the train station. My dh drives people who don't drive or can't drive to appointments and to the airport, train or bus station. It keeps him busy and he loves the interaction with the little ladies.
This afternoon we are ushering at the Chamber theatre at the 4:00 p.m. show. We really enjoy ushering and maybe today my dh will work the coat room since it is rather chilly in Milwaukee. I like to seat people in their seats. We will be seeing "Picnic". It was a movie a long time ago and I really have forgotten the plot. So I look forward to the production. The Chamber Theatre is a wonderful group of paid actors and actresses.
We are going to dinner after the theatre. I have a free birthday dinner (its Monday the 19th) at The Mongolian Barbecue. For those of you who might not know what the Mongolian Barbecue is, its a sit down restaurant and you go to a buffet table and pick out as many kinds of veggies you want cooked and you select as many proteins as you want cooked and then the sauce that goes on the meal and you give it to the guys behind the counter and they put it on a hugh stone and with swords they toss your veggies and protein and pour your sauce on top and eventually they scoop it all up and put it in a bowl. It is served with rice which is waiting at your table. So we will go there and then home for the evening. I look forward to a wonderful day and relaxing evening.
My food will be good, I am drinking my water and I will put in my 10K steps tonite. I have been eating more food during the day and using up my extra points. I have not gone into my activity points yet. I refuse to get on the scale but I don't feel any heavier or bloated or different in any way other than feeling satisfied.
Last night we went to Zaffiros for pizza and I had 1/2 of a medium pizza no meat just veggies and I don't feel like I gained any weight. I don't have any residual effects like I used to. Maybe it is the 10 steps I am doing at the end of the day and its burning up the calories. We will see next week when I weigh in at WW
Feeling great about where I am in my journey. Since my reality check with my son I am adopting a more accepting attitude about my program. I am happy about that.
ADDENDUM; We didn't eat at the MB, we went for a greek salad near the house. We will do the MB on Monday my birthday.
The play was a callorbation of the UW-milwaukee theatre arts program and the Chamber theatre. It was absolutely fantastic. They (young actors/actresses) did a wonderful job. Their teachers also performed as professional that they are. The youngsters will go far in stage, screen and other venues. I am sure that in a few years we will hear alot about these young artists. At least I hope so. They are very talented.
This morning I got up and went to play duplicate bridge at Dunwood school. My friend SW asked me to be her partner and I really enjoyed the group. Bruno is the leader and I took bridge lessons with him at the JCC. He did remember me. I did make the commitment with SW to be her partner on Friday mornings.
I came home for lunch and spent the better part of the afternoon answering e-mails on SP.
This afternoon we are going to see the Michael Moore movie and go out to eat after the movie. I will try to get my 10K steps in tonite in front of the TV. ADDENDUM: Movie was fantastic and should not be missed. Went for Zaffiro's pizza and figured it was my 12 points which was left for dinner. Got my 10K steps in and all my water has been drunk.
Food has been good, water will be all gone by P.M. and exercise will be done this evening. i
