Today I had my dh get everything for a hugh pot of chicken soup. Well several hours later we had the most delicious smelling house in the condo. We had it for dinner and it was fantastic as usual.

Tonite we went to services to welcome the beginning of the New Year for the Jewish people. Our choir was wonderful. In fact the congregants gave us a rousing round of applause. Our services were warm, inviting, the Rabbi was great and the Cantor (hazzon) was a delight. It was such a relaxing atmosphere. No one wanted to leave after the services. We had honey and apples set out so everyone could start the New Years on a sweet note and we all stood around talking. It was such a different atmosphere.

Now I will finish SP, read another good book. "Without Mercy" by Lisa Jackson.

Tomorrow we need to be at temple by 9:45 a.m. so I may not get onto SP until afternoon. We will see how late I sleep.

We had meatless matzo ball soup this year. My daughter is vegetarian now. She flirted with it before, but she has converted! My husband is watching cholesterol, so the matzo balls were made with egg whites. I made a kugel that was modified for calories and cholesterol too.
I wish our Temple had that warm feeling. I keep praying for peace and harmony. My daughter is doing a reading in Hebrew today. They appreciate her, but she has friends whose families haven't been able to pay dues and have received letters that they have resigned (even though they hadn't) -- so her friends aren't there and it's hard.
I hope you feel connected and rejuvenated! Chag Sameach!

Happy New Year Donna...(Is that what I'm supposed to say?) I don't know much about the Jewish traditions, but I want to wish you in the right way,
Your Services sound so Delightful and I love the apple and honey to start the year off on a Sweet Note. I may have to adopt that in my New Years Traditions...Along with my Pork and SaurKraut...
Enjoy your holiday season.

I stayed home most of the day, but did have a dentist appointment at 3:00 p.m.

I went into the dentist figuring I was going to lose all my bottom teeth and the $3000.00 we spent in bridges was thrown out money. Well, my dentist is a miracle man. He said no problem, fix my tooth, attached my bridge and all was great at the end of an hour. Now we just add more $$$ to his bill.

Watched TV tonite catching up on pre taped shows, since nothing really good was on. I did watch PrimeTime Nightline and their topic was what causes people to overeat.

They showed people who eat at night without waking up, a definate sleep disorder. Can't claim that to be my problem. They showed a women from W VA having surgery and metabolism adjustments after having failed losing weight with all other methods of weight loss. They showed people whose brains have to be retrained on their response to food. That is definitely my problem

So now I tell myself I choose to have a salad instead of a large bowl of pasta.
Many people have lost over 100 pounds doing this brain washing.

Now I am going to watch Nightline. They are going to discuss caloric values of food.

Today my dh let me sleep in and boy did I sleep well. I finally got up at 10:00 a.m.

I spent the lazy day watching the rain come down and watching TV program I have previously taped.

Finally I showered and dressed at 5:00 p.m. when my dh went to buy himself a KFC dinner. My tooth is still bothering me so I was have a cheese omelet.

I had choir rehearsal with the new Cantor that came in from Connecticut today. My DH went with me, so he could hear the Cantor prior to services on Wednesday evening. He is a tenor which we have never had in our synagogue. he has a beautiful voice and I am sure the congregants will love the choir and the cantor. It was a great rehearsal.

Now I will finish up with SP and go and read.

Glad to meet someone else who is helping beautify the upcoming holidy with their voice. In my shul, the choir only sings on Erev Yom Kippur and the rest of the holiday is just the Cantor, or various Congregants. We had our first rehearsal last night.

Last night as I was having my popcorn I broke my lower canine tooth. I it half in and half out of my gum. It is very annoying and I have limited myself to soft food

Since it is a holiday weekend I won't bother the dentist but I will cancel golf once again and make a appointment for Tuesday. I will probably have to have that tooth pulled. It is the one that the bridge hinges on. Oh my what will my dentist do?

Today we didn't do anything, but lay around the house. I didn't get out of my pj's The weather has cooled down quite a bit, in the 70's but Monday it is expect to get back into the 80's

Sorry about your tooth and hope it isn't hurting you at all. Hope you don't have any trouble getting in to the dentist. Sounds like you had a great day though all in all. We all need a lazy day occasionally.

This morning I overslept and did not get up in time to go to services. So I just relaxed and answered e-mails and read and caught up on watching some pre-taped shows that I had not seen.

Tonite we are going to pick up our friends and go out to BD Mongolian Grill. You can pick out all veggies and some protein and a sauce that goes in it and they sauté it on their hot stones. It is delicious, you can fill up on veggies and it is zero points until you add the sauce and protein. If I order shrimp and low fat sauce it will be fine. I won't eat the rice, unless it is brown rice.

We will probably go back to their house for cards or rummy-cube. She just called so we are leaving now.

We have a place here that is similar to the Mongolian Grill where you can pick out all the veggies you want and pile them in a bowl, then a separate one for your meat. It is a great way to have a healthy dinner! Have a wonderful time.

Hugs,
Sandi
