    Love the "become minimalist".... Being with my daughter, her home is vere serene and minimalist, and I love it... Problem is that I don't have a minimalist husband.

September Recap....

Hi time for me to recap my September goals...

Refresh page...yes :)

Track food...not many days :(

Track exercise minutes..aim for 1000+...1845 woohoo :)

Track spark points..aim for 1000+...2386 woohoo :)

Drink water...8+ glasses a day...yes :)

Become minimalist...working on it..:)

Fall bucket list..working on it..:)

5K training...ran a few days..working on it :)

Meditate and yoga...a few times..working on it :)

Tea parties...a few :)

Do something nice for me and someone else..most days :)

Get back to work!! My theme..we have most of the fall work done..been working hard!!

Well I think I made progress toward most of my goals...all leading to better health and happiness!!

Yeah September!! Been busy learning lots of new things, did the free 2 weeks of Sparkcoach, learned lots from Pinterest, started playing scrabble on line with 5 friends daily...well you get the picture...

Hi..Where has September gone? Hope you are all enjoying fall..it's one of my favorite times of the year..the fall trees and colors :)

emoticon The learning continues here with my theme for September... I am enjoying the free Spark coach..I'm on day 10 of 14 days free..I've been finding it hard to keep up..even tho it takes just 10 minutes a day (if you have good internet to watch the videos) I have fallen behind a few days...after the free trial the cost will be 3 months for $14.99 or the first month for $.99..so not sure if that is helpful for anyone..I know I'd keep doing it if it was free..but will not pay for it as most of what's on it can be found else where on the site...if you do the days program you get 25 spark points so I like that about it and also the motivation and inspiration :)

emoticonThe 5% fall challenge is just around the corner..starts Oct 6..so been doing some of the get ready assignments..need to catch up there too..

so what have I been doing? you ask...we're hauling in the bales and that is soo time consuming.....we have hundreds of the big suckers in already and have just under 300 to go..then we get interrupted by other jobs like hubby's community pasture job...which is extra busy in the fall..this week we've been dealing with the bulls...2 went to market and the other 19 are being hauled to their winter pasture...we have one more round up and move for each of the 2 herds and then
take out will be later in October..the insanely busy week!!

A pipe line is going through our land running from Alberta to North Dakota and it's been swarming with activity for the last month!! It's still extra dry and crispy here...40+ days with out rain and add the heat and wind...yuck :(

We went to a wedding last weekend and had a blast..son was down for awhile (he had another wedding is Saskatoon that same day) and we saw lots of friends to visit and share laughs with and had lots of drinks and yummy food and dancing. They even had a live band which is quite uncommon anymore around here!!

I love all the fall colors and love the nature drives through the country to see the fall foliage..of course it's way early here and almost done..due to the drought! I read some where this quote....

Well I love the prairies and the rolling hills and coulees and badlands that make up my little corner of the country :) The coulees and farm yards have beautiful trees this time of year. We have quite a lot of wildlife to enjoy, too. The other day while unloading bales a bald eagle was circling over head...while out in the pastures I always see gophers, coyotes, rabbits, deer, antelope and hubby and his rider saw 2 majestic elk..not too common around here....then we found the spot where they got into the pasture and we were doing some fence fixing!!

emoticonI downloaded a free book that was advertised on Spark called Integrative Nutrition..by Joshua Rosenthal...I'm finding it quite interesting..the first chapter is Question what you're told..

    The SparkCoach sounds real good but no.....I wouldn't pay for it either. There are so many great teams & exercise videos already on here that are free. The reason I joined originally is because it was free as opposed to WW or something else.
Sounds like things are going good now, but sounds like they are going to get busy real soon. Take good care of yourself.

Day 4 of Spark Coach!!

emoticonHi..just a quick blog to share part of the program from today's Spark coach. The program video wasn't Spark guy but coach Nicole...It was called Weight loss 101... kind of ties into my Sept learning theme :)

Simple recap of the Spark things to do to lose weight and get healthy. The equation of food in -exercise out=weight loss. Basic math :)
The basics for a refresher are...
calorie range
eat to lose weight..healthy choices
no gimicks
have an exercise program
measure and weigh food and drinks
track everything!!

I'm loving the free 2 weeks of Spark coach :) Anybody else joined up?

Fall 5% Challenge

Hi..I see I'm behind in the assignments to prepare for the Fall Challenge...I love these Challenges and find that they motivate me and I also meet lots of new friends..and travel to exotic places (okay..only in my computer..but its fun)

So Assignment #1

What's my plan...How much and how often to exercise...at least 30 minutes daily, I usually try for the max which is 120 I think :)

What diet...just a healthy, balanced diet within the tracking calorie range :)

How will I support my team..(I hope it's the Starfish again) I hope to check in, comment, encourage, support and maybe be a mentor again :)

Assignment #2

Update Spark page...well I do that monthly but I have added the Fall 5% Challenge to my page :)

Assignment #3

List reasons to lose weight....to feel better, to be healthier and to look better :)

Well, that's the assignments all caught up!

I'm still really enjoying the Spark coach program!! It's really helping me get back on track!! And it's fun, too!!

I've been spending some time reading and rereading some of my favorite books. I bought the new Gretchen Rubin book Happier at Home and am enjoying it too.
I want to get to a book store and buy some Brene Brown books as I'm finding her very interesting..has anyone read any of her books? Any recommendations?

Well, things are slowly getting back to normal here..thanks goodness..after a very rough stretch..I'm finally getting my "HAPPY" back..whew!!
