Well..I already refreshed my Spark page..to look like the beach :) and lots of starfishies....need to find more pictures of starfishies....or beaches ..haha..

We had a busy day in Weyburn, got the truck dropped off to repair the deer damage...did lots of shopping..preparing for swimming lessons with the granddaughters at the end of July...and took hubby's parents out for lunch for their Anniversary today....when we got home neighbour needed some help and welding on his haybine, then hubby was back to cutting our hay..then we are having a late supper..in 10 minutes..then off to Plentywood and take in some of their 100th celebration and the 4th of July fireworks!!

I really need to focus on some serious relaxing for July as my body is getting kind of tired out...so last night after hubby came in from cutting hay we relaxed out on the patio furniture and enjoyed a beer and the spectacular light show of a distant lightning storm (maybe not too smart to sit under a tree on a metal chair in a lightning storm..but hey..life is an adventure..live dangerously.haha)

Thanks so much for dropping by..hope you can take some time to relax today and if you are from the USA enjoy your holiday!! Keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna emoticon

Hope your summer is full of the things you love....watermelon, pool time, flip flops, hammocks...whatever makes your summer fun :)

God Bless America emoticon

Man I have The Happiness Project bookmarked somewhere. Either on my kindle, wishlist, or an actual bookmark on the browser... along with about 100 other I can't seem to get to. You'll have to let me know what you think. ;-)

Very nice goals: and I'm looking forward to learning more about "buying some happiness"!! Bought some new bras yesterday (4 for $22) but not persuaded that's what you have in mind . . . probably something even more "uplifting"!!

Happy Canada Day weekend..everyone!!

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Hi..just a quick afternoon blog..I'm way behind in my blogging and also thanking everyone for their comments..I will get to you eventually and know how much I appreciate your support...

We've had a wild week here...today I watered my plants, then out to the field to drive the tractor cultivating our summerfallow for the second pass..while hubby seeded a bit of swath grazng...I just got finished and left the outfit in the field and walked/ran home for my third day/ second week of my 5K training..must be helping as I lost 3 pounds this week :) woohoo!!

Then on my way home I saw a golden eagle.. in a pasture right beside me and then flew to a fence post and then circled over head..we do see quite a few eagles here..golden and bald but they always awe me..I wished I had my camera with me..don't usually bring it to the field..haha...

This has been a wild week...Tuesday was very hot..we went to the neighbors to help load some cattle to market, then I went on to a close town to get our truck adjusted...it's our second best truck, a 2004, ford one ton diesel supercab that we use for hauling bales and cattle, etc. I had a deer come out of the ditch on grid road and smash into the driver door...:( $4500 damage....then we were on to Weyburn to set up the appointment to get it fixed and so they could order the parts.....a huge storm was brewing and when we got home huge scary clouds were overhead and hubby saw a small funnel but it didn't touch down...just a few drops of rain..and it's getting crisp here..we could use a nice soaker.

Wednesday was hot and windy....too windy to do my walk/run that great as I couldn't breathe!! Then I checked the home herds with the quad and my sunglasses kept blowing off and my neck waddle was flapping in the wind..that hurts! The joys of being over 50..haha!!

Thursday was Grad at our local high school and 2 students had invited us..we took in the exercises and the social and made an early night of it...

Yesterday was another hot day and we worked in the community pasture..I rode the quad and checked herds while hubby worked on the cattle oilers and the fence....I got very tired and a bit sunburned..so I was bound for the couch for the rest of the day....really need to do some housework..yikes...

Now today I have not much energy left for anything else after the tractor hours and my run...

I've been enjoying the 5% challenge..go starfish!! and this first week has been track exercise minutes and water drank....now the second week is exercise minutes and tracking food..which is good since I need to get back to tracking...

Hard to believe it's the last day of June!!! We have done so much already..... summer is wonderful....time to do a June recap and July's goals....we are sticking around home for the July 1st Canada Day weekend..we do plan to go to Plentywood Montana on Wed for their 100th celebration and July 4th fireworks if they are still on due to the fire hazzard happening around here....

Well..I'm a bit rested up and have finished a big glass of water so I'm off on another project..maybe dishes..haha..

Thanks for dropping by ..have a great Canada Day tomorrow and keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna emoticon emoticon emoticon

Takes my breath away to be out in the hot sun very long. On July 4th our town has fireworks out at the collage football stadium but they also for the first year are selling fireworks on the edge of town. Good luck on your running training and take care, Lucinda

Beautiful summer day..

Monday, June 25, 2012

Hi..I love summer and today was a beautiful day :)

We did more yard work..I watered all my plants in pots and the garden bedding plants...I also did lots of weeding..hubby worked on the trees some more and they are all finished and looking spiffy :)

After lunch we went down to the neighbors to help him sort some cattle for market..that's lots of work out time, too...

I also did some laundry and gathered up summer supplies in a picnic basket so when we have BBQ's it's all ready to go...

So I had the max number of fitness minutes to track on the challenge and 10 glasses of water..day two has gone great....

Yesterday I hung up my new hammock in the trees by the garden so I hope I can find some time to swing in it...soon...

Thanks for dropping by and for all your kind comments..Keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna emoticon

Some of my favorite summer things...flip flops...cut offs...soaking up the sun... and swimming...

What are your favorite things of summer?

Hammock sounds wonderful - haven't had one since I was little, but still remember long hours of reading... eating apples, cherries or plums off the trees in our yard... thanks for the happy memories.

    Donna,
A few of my favorite summer things are watching the flowers bloom and hearing the birds to sing. It is so great. I am trying to think about getting some fishing done later. Jeff won't go with me any more and I really don't like going by myself, so will have to see if Michael wants to go.

Watermelon, fresh veggies from our garden, yard work, mowing at the farm and fishing are my favorites... oh, and lots of grilling outside.

The hammock sounds good. Mine broke earlier this spring with me in it so it's time for a new one.

Enjoy your summer!

Wow you had a really busy summer day. What I like best about summer is the extra daylight hours. I hate when the time changes and it gets dark at 6:00

Hmm...what do I like best about Summer? Now that I've moved further south again, I love that it lasts so long!

I particularly enjoy outdoor water activities. I need to make the time and effort to go canoeing and rafting and to try kayaking this summer - especially now that I'm in better shape than I've been in years! Thanks for the reminder, Donna.

Day one of the 5% summer challenge...

Sunday, June 24, 2012

Hi..sorry I've missed so many days of blogging..it's been really hectic here..too much to do...it is crazy..takes days to get ready for a trip and then days to catch up again.

I was doing better getting back on track since Vegas..was down about 5 pounds, then yesterday we went to the Farm Progress show in Regina..so all meals out and that blasted salt and water retention..oh well today was weigh in for the 5% challenge..I'm confident I'll get back to the tracker weight before the challenge is over. I also started the training for beginners 5K...

....did the walking/running this morning...it was easier than I thought it would be..except I was along my back road with lots of hills and the first run was up hill, took a bit to catch my breath after that....

...did lots and lots of yard work, gardening and lawn mowing today..it was warm out so it was very easy to drink lots of water. When hubby came home from an auction sale he helped with some yard work and then we worked on the wind break trees. We didn't get them finished so that will be tomorrows job, too...and helping the neighbor with his cattle.

Well..it's almost midnight so I should get to bed..thanks for dropping by and thanks for all the comments on the Vegas trip...I'm still basking in the fun of our holiday!! Keep on Sparkin'

Glad you enjoyed your trip. You certainly deserved some fun and a good time. You are like the Energizer bunny with all you have to do in a day's time.
The trip sounded wonderful from everything you wrote in your blog.

Congratulations to you on your 5-lb loss and training for the 5K! That is great! Good luck with the 5% Challenge too. I know you're going to be successful in that challenge during the next few weeks.

Yes, I agree. Vacations are a lot of work for sure. But at least they are loads of fun while we are enjoying them. I guess the extra amount of work is worth it.
I'm so happy you had a great time on yours!
