Recap of May's Goals...

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Hi...it's time to do the May goal recap...May's theme has been FUN (my theme for May) but busy busy busy...

emoticon
-refresh page..done :)

-track food..only 8 days ..not so good :(

-track exercise..aim for 1000+....2940 mins..lots of exercise!!

-track points...aim for 1000+...1903 good :)

-eat spring foods..yes..lots of veggies and fruit!!

-drink lots of water..yes :)

-blog daily...22 days..fair!!

-finish last 2 weeks of the 5% challenge..great..lost 8 pounds ..almost the 5% :)

-spring boot camp challenge..quit since the videos won't down load :(

-gardening...have done lots and lots of yard work and gardening..that's where quite a few of the exercise came from...planted my garden but it's not up yet, worked on the flower beds, put out bedding plants and mowed the grass lots!!

So to sum up the month..it has been fun but I've just done fair on my goals and have been slacking off with healthy eating and tracking food and the scale is not doing what it should.......

Very tired tonight so I'll add June's goals tomorrow...hauled several loads of rotted manure to my garden and flower beds..then mowed grass for several hours and then quadded the herd in the west side of the community pasture... hubby fenced, then to town for seed barley..getting in a panic for the neighbor to do the spraying and seeding that he has hired..would love to have it done before we leave for Vegas on June 10..June 11 is our 35th Anniversary..we will be gone for 5 days..woohoo..but the holiday will be hard for me to get back on track...

I have joined the summer 5% challenge and am looking forward to it..hope it starts after we get back from our trip...I feel bad that I'll break my log in streak but I'm not bringing my laptop along...time to start a new streak :)

June's theme is Friendship so my spark friends will play a big part in my month! I am so lucky to have so many great Spark friends and also all my friends everywhere so am looking forward to focusing on friends :)

Tomorrow I'm taking my closest friend and neighbor to a salad luncheon which she has said she's always wanted to attend...she'll be turning 88 in June so this is part of her gift :)

Well..time to have a quick soak in the tub for these aching muscles and off to bed, thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'

I appreciate your friendship!
Love Donna! emoticon

You really did well and made a lot of progress! You're accomplishing a lot in many ways - good for you! Writing down your goals and tracking your progress is the key to success. I really need to follow your lead on that. I'm looking forward to the 5% challenge too. I know you will have a great June.

Quick blog..

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Hi..I'm using hubby's computer since mine is still shutting down when I try to use it...must be a virus...

Spent this morning checking home cows with the quad...this afternoon at Weyburn..shopping, errands, etc..tonight checked community pasture herd with hubby in truck..way too muddy to take anything else....

Hope to do some more gardening and yard work tomorrow if it stays nice... maybe mow some grass!! My poor garden has been in since May 17 and nothing is up yet..the moisture is there...just not the heat and sunshine :(

Our trip to Vegas is getting closer...son gave us an Anniversary card with US money in it...the in-laws today gave us a card with US money in it...all that will help make the trip more memorable!! We don't gamble much but will visit a few buffets and have more than a few drinks :)

Well bedtime, everyone..thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna!

Starting to work on May's recap and June's goals..where did May go to? It just flew by....

But I have been having lots of Fun!!

Hi Donna - when do you go to Vegas? I've never been there, but DH loves it even though he doesn't gamble. He loves the whole excitement of the place, says it's almost like Disneyland. Maybe I'll get there someday.

Hope you can get your computer fixed. I think Microsoft has a free virus protection now called Microsoft Security Essentials you might want to check in to. I hope you have a wonderful anniversary in Vegas!

    Hi Donna,
I haven't been online much lately. I've been so busy helping with house projects, I haven't had time to take a break although I have been logging my meals & exercise & spinning the wheel daily.
We put in a garden a few weeks ago and it's starting to come up now. I need to take a picture of it along with the other things.
To bad about your computer, I hate when a virus hits mine, that reminds me, I need to back up everything just in case.
So happy for you that your vacation to Vegas is coming up soon. I sure wish we lived closer to there so I could pop over and see you.
Hope you get some warmer weather soon!

Missed blogging for a few days...

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Hi..had a great time Friday at the friend get together..2 of my classmates for lunch for a late birthday celebration....good food..good times..lots of laughs.. lots of fun :)

Saturday we checked all the new herds at home and brought them salt and minerals....cold, cold, cold and even a bit of snow :( the wedding was moved inside instead of at the corrals as planned...son came down for the wedding..it was a friend's son's wedding..we headed in to the wedding but of course we had a heifer calving..4 cows left to calve and one has to be calving during the wedding.. so we all went in and attended the wedding and the beef on a bun supper and then ran home (20 miles) to check on her..all was fine and another new baby.. then we returned to the wedding in time for the dance (hubby told people there that we went home to have sex..yeah he's a real joker...) Then we dance lots and I drank too much and we got home around 1 am.

Sunday was a much needed day of rest..a rainy one at that...

Today was still rainy so we didn't get too much done..I planted a few bedding plants out and went with hubby to check the west community pasture cattle and the truck hit something underneath and wrecked a plate under it so we spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get it off and then trying to straighten it.

I also did some catching up on the computer..mine has been acting up..shutting down by itself and often..must be a virus?? any suggestions?? So writing a blog was out of the question..I used hubby's work computer for awhile but now I'm trying this on mine..here's hoping it doesn't shut down in the middle...

We watched the first of the 3 part show on the History channel called Hatfield's and McCoy's..part one was good...

Well when it ever dries up here we'll have lots and lots of stuff to get done before we leave for Vegas on June 10....I'm really getting excited for the trip..it'll be so fun!!

All this hectic stuff has made me go off track in the eating department and a couple pounds have crept back on...need to get back on track..at least with all the cattle work..running around...and dancing..the exercise has been constant...

Well best get ready for bed and thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna emoticon

Cattle are all sorted and in their pastures..

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Hi..today is rainy..cold..windy and I spent most of today outside in it :( But we did get the cattle all sorted..our friends came over and helped all afternoon.. it's so great to have friends that we can help and they can help us too..and make it fun..well it still was a day from hell but at least it wasn't sweltering hot...

Tomorrow I'm off to a late birthday lunch with 2 classmates (high school was a million years ago but we still keep in touch ) Looking forward to it..it will be fun!!

I didn't put any bedding plants out and I'm glad as it may freeze and snow tonight..yikes...usually it's not safe until after June 1st but I have had plants freeze later than that....oh to live in the cold, cold north..haha..July is the only month that Saskatchewan hasn't had frost (that I can recall) brrrr...

Well it's been a very long day and I'm ready for bed..thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna..

Read this FUN thing on pinterest today...

If at first you don't succeed, try doing it the way your wife told you...haha

Great feeling to have those cattle out on pasture. It gives you more freedom to do other things for a change. There's always work to be done but at least it changes with the seasons. No plants planted outside here either. It's just too cold. We've had several days of rainy, cold weather here too. Manitoba is not too far behind Saskatchewan in that department.

That would be the best way, for sure.

And I'm wondering the sorting principles for cattle: boy/girl? colour? age?

I did not plant any annuals last weekend but I'm thinking it's probably safe now . . . will try to get at it tomorrow!!
