Enjoying the little granddaughters!!

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Hi..we had a change of plans hubby came along to get the girls so he helped drive home and I didn't stay over night...

We had a busy long day yesterday....daughter phoned tonight to see how the girls were doing and asked if they fell asleep on the way home...I was surprised that they didn't and I asked her if she new that her 10 year old could talk for 4 hours straight..haha..she said yeah she knew that..haha..

So it's the end of day one and Grandma is TIRED..not so much from the girls but I was helping hubby clear a path for our container..I spend a couple hours out helping him move stuff and mostly using an axe or pick to get stuff dug out of frozen ground or ice!
What a work out...

The girls are planning parties for the next few days and have been decorating and getting the foods turning Grandma's house upside down!!

Well ..we just unwind by watching the games..Winnipeg lost, Edmonton won!! Now it's off to bed..yesterday was a late night and sleep will coe instantly when my head hits the pillow...

Thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'

Yes ,they make a mess but would you trade a clean neat home for not seeing them? I know when our granddaughter's boys come to visit it is so much going on every second of the day . sure it beats you up to do it but what a way to go . they are my world. and it got to be less when they moved away and it starts up when they return . enjoy it only last for a short time . emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wow! Sounds like such a good time. They probably will tire you out for sure, but it will be worth it. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
Don't forget to take your vitamins!

Hi we had a beautiful sunny day today..too bad hubby has been feeling sick. He restd on the couch a lot today and I did lots of housework and a bit of Sparkin' rode my bike, drank my water, logged in for points etc...

Now I'm relaxing on the couch with a hockey game..Edmonton is losing bad to Vancouver :( I've had a glass of red wine and finished off the last 2 chocolates from hubby..I shared with him..he's feeling a lot better now.

The house is all ready for the little girls. I'm off tomorrow to get them..they have a family day sledding party and weiner roast tomorrow til about 7 pm so I'm going there by 7 and staying over and them bringing them here..I'll leave when daughter leaves for work at 7:30 am. Tuesday...So I won't be on here as much when I have company...

February is flying by..most of the goals are going geat by the weight is not budging much :( But I'm making great progress toward my new healthy lifestyle!!

Happy Saturday..everyone...

Saturday, February 18, 2012

Hi..guess what I'm doing? you guessed it I'm watching hockey..haha..had light beer and fat free microwaved popcorn....

It's been a long day..started with 30 minutes on the bike..then after breakfast out to help hubby with 2 loads of fire wood. After lunch we did another load, then I went to town for mail and oil for my needs an oil change (hubby does that) before I go on Monday to get the granddaughters :)

Since getting home I did some more junk sorting and then made supper..grilled steak, salad and peas and a small slice of low fat homemade cheese cake...

We watched the first hockey game..Vancouver won, now I'm watching Calgary.... probably not going to stay up for the whole game since it'll be bedtime soon!!

There's about 3 weeks until the cows start to calve, then we will be sticking close to home and will be really busy!! I take my share of the night check shifts so about 2 months of getting up in the least I'll get lots and lots of exercise..

Well time to get back to the game..and get some more spark points...thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'

Spring is definitely on the way if it's almost time for calves. Thank you for the promise of new things to come.

I know that your life will change for a while in a few short weeks. You might dread all the extra work but to see the miracle of life is a good pay off. I wish I lived closer because I would love to help because the birth is a wonder to me and I get excited.
You are in my thoughts and prayers

Have a great week Donna. My calving "really" starts any day. Last couple weeks have been some cows I bought last May with calves at foot - turns out they were also bred!!! So a 3 in 1 package.
I should - well I better say I promise myself - that I will do a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise after I get up for the early morning check!
Happy calving emoticon

Helped Hubby nail up slabs today..

Friday, February 17, 2012

Hi..after lunch I helped hubby with the corrals..he had a few more slabs to replace so I went out to help arms aren't used to hammering nails and they feel like lead tonight..haha..

The weather has been great here..can't believe it's February..this winter will be the winter that wasn't!!

I made a family favorite for supper from when I was a kid..tuna curry...I stir fried some celery and onions, added a drained can of tuna and used my cream of something soup mix (sometimes I use cream of celery soup..but I'm still trying to use less salt) Mom always made a white sauce..then add curry powder to taste...serve over hot rice.

I rode the x bike for 30 minutes before I logged on the computer this my new rule is working (2 days it was just 15 mins on the bike but I made up for it later)

I had a small glass of the red wine and am watching the end of the hockey game.. the Oilers are losing 3-1...we watched the Jets game and they won :)

For some reason our dog, a blue heeler cross, totally chewed her bed to bits tonight?? We let her sleep in the porch every night so she doesn't bark at the coyotes all night's not even a full moon..don't know what's gotten into her??

Well like I said my arms feel like lead so it's time to sign off..thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'

That meal sounds great! I think I may have to try it soon. Right now the hubby and I are out on the pier by Golden Gate bridge in San Fran. Catching crab and fish. Your doing way to much hard work. You need to come to the bay area and hang out with me!

Hi..had a great day yesterday...

Thursday, February 16, 2012

Hi..yesterday was a fun but looong day..we left at 8 am and got home aroud 1 am. The class about cattle marketing was very interesting..then after a quick lunch at Assiniboia we went on to Moose Jaw..and did some shopping and touring :) I got a few more garden seeds, a few groceries and some Walmart treats for undies, a white t-shirt, 3 magazines, 2 Adele cds and some crafting stuff..some yarn and a cable needle to learn how to make a cable scarf, and some fabric, batting and thread to make a quilted wall hanging..

..Then on to the hockey game..MJ has a brand new rink so it was fun to look around, then have supper there with the game, we even ran into a couple people we knew...and the game was good too, MJ was a long drive home and I told hubby I'd do most of the driving..glad the weather and roads have been so good...

I found out I can get the little granddaughters next week, they have a family activity on Monday..sledding and weiner roast,so I'll go up late afternoon on Monday, stay overnight and then leave with the girls when they leave for work Tuesday. They'll stay til the weekend :) Can't wait..I actually spent most of today getting their room ready!!

Now I'm just vegging, having a beer, watching hockey and hubby's asleep on the couch. I only got in 15 mins on the x bike yesterday before I logged on the computer so today I did 45 minutes :)..listening to the new cds :)

Well I think this will be an early night..still tired from my busy day yesterday... Thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'...

read this great quote today...

Respect yourself,
Self-respect leads to discipline,
When you have both firmly under
Your belt, that's real power."

That is so wonderful that you get to have the little ones come and stay. Sounds like you are doing a great job with your program and keeping very busy doing so many other things.
Take care of yourself & don't wear yourself out too much.

Love your quote. It is so true. I take it that you are ranchers. That is how we earned our living for over 30 years until we retired.
Isn't it great to have the grandchildren come to spend time with you? Most of mine are too far away to spend time with us so we don't see them very often.
Glad to hear that you had such a good day. emoticon
