Hi..thanks for stopping by yesterday and commenting on my blog :)

Today I continued to track all my food, drank water and exercised...

I've been focusing on making healthier food choices today..and I had lots of veggies and stayed within my calorie range :)

I worked at some projects today..I made 2 smallish candles from the remains of old candles, I painted an old blackboard with new blackboard paint and finished knitting a scarf...

I read some more in my books about happiness..found some really great stuff :)

It's really, really cold here now and will stay that way for a few days..we got a wee bit more snow but still not enough to snowshoe!! haha...

Lunch today was a tuna wrap with extra veggies and spinach..supper was turkey stir fry with extra veggies...I also planned the menu for the rest of the week :)

The best book so far is called "It's All in Your Head..Thinking Your Way to Happiness" by Stephen M. Pollan and Mark Levine

    This happiness stuff is powerful! I do agree about the importance of attitude. Barring occasional crises, most of us are just about as happy as we choose to be: and for sure, happiness is not "pleasure"!!

Hi..Thanks for all the comments on my blog :)

Today I had another good day..tracked all my food, drank all my water, rode my bike for 30 minutes..did some reading and found a couple books I had but haven't read yet on happiness.. They all had some good ideas..I liked one idea for the 4 -3-2-1 exercise so tried that today..4 mins of cardio..3 mins of strength..2 mins of abs and 1 min of stretches :) It was called the perfect 10 minute workout..

I dug up my other Jon Gordon books and am working on my energy addict :)

I also signed up to Happiness.org and today's quote was....

Hi..I've had a great day..tracked all my food and stayed within my calorie range :)

Rode my bike for 40 minutes and did some sorting and burning...phoned my oldest sister and had a fun visit..guess what? she wants some bull burger..haha...she lives in Saskatoon, as does our son so we can deliver it all in one trip!

I dug out my binder from the pilot project and am going to have fun using it for my healthy journey :) It will be part of my coaching plan to get these healthy habits habits
and I've found lots of assistant coaches and I won't forget all my fans..haha :)

To go along with my first step of tracking food is working toward making healthier food choices...today I drank all my water, had lots of fruits and veggies, protein and whole grains..could increase the grains...

For exercise I have faithfully rode my exercise bike for at least 6 miles everyday but one in January and that was the day I went to the spa with my sister so I walked lots and swam, too, instead. Tomorrow I'm going to amp up the exercises...

Today's challenge is to track exercise, cooment on 10 blogs and then blog..so the blog is the last thing left...

My theme for January is Energy... I have a few books by Jon Gordon and I've signed up for his emails and have been getting them for years...his fisrt books are all about energy..One's called the Energy Addict. I printed off a page of tips for a powerful new year a few years ago and while sorting today came across it..karma :)

Jon Gordon's 20 Tips for a Powerrful New Year..
1 Take a 10 to 20 minute walk everyday
2 Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day
3 Record late night tv and get some sleep

    I think I've read that list before, but it's absolutely lovely and I'm SO GLAD you posted it. I wish we could save user blogs...just not on FB! I'd so save this one!

I want some bull burger, too! Can you drive down to DC and drop it off? I'm not sure if we can get beef from Canada, but maybe you can just sneak it in??? ;-)

I finally got my computer to get online again. It is dong weird stuff--has ever since I got it used, but it's getting really iffy.

I paint blackboards on my walls and doors. I find chalk on the lowest shelf around the writing pens.

    Very Nice work on your blog. I totally agree with the tracking. I have honestly tracked everyday since I joined SP and I have tracked every single bite I eat. Even if I don't feel like it. I either have to stay up late or keep up with it during the day. Sometime by mobile phone but I have to track everything. If I hadn't been tracking all food intake and all exercise everyday, I don't think I would have kept my weight loss consistently on track.

Hi..I've commented on 10 member blogs so now for my blog..I was disappointed with my weigh in but not surprised..I've been way off with eating..

The blog is to be about a new healthy habit and what steps to do to really make it a habit. I've been thinking lately about my goals and habits and what would help me and I've decided I need a coach and the coach is me!!

We piloted a farm course called integrated resource management quite a few years ago. The main idea was to work together with all the professionals and learn from all their expertise....

..So I think I should apply that principle for my 2012 goals and coach myself to success. I've been assembling my team..books, articles, friends and of course everything here on Spark...and I am so ready..to bust this plateau and have the healthy life I want..I deserve it..I'm going to do it!!

So part of it is recognizing my strengths and weaknesses..

My greatest weakness is I know what I should be doing..I just need to do it. I spend so much time planning..now I have to work my plan..walk the walk so to speak..

Thanks to the Starfish 5% challenge for helping me stay within limits over the holidays and encouraging me to develop new habits and steps!! It's the steps I'm going to work on..it's like..JUST DO IT!!

    Tahnks for commenting on MY blog -- your "jack of all trades" metaphor should make for lots of self-confidence when faced with a problem, an "I can do it" or "I can figure it out" kinda thing!! And happy : you are consistently up beat, which is one of the reasons I enjoy dropping by your page so much (that and your accounts of bull burger and such!!)

Integrated management sure is an idea I can adopt too (although not for a farm . . . ): great concept!

    So, exactly what are your goals for this week? What specific habit do you wish to incorporate into your routine? I have the same tendencies as you as far as doing more planning than doing. Be very specific about what you want to do and just do it (as Nike says.) Have a great week.

Spreading more bull around...

Hi.. we went up to Weyburn again today..to deliver some more bull burger to frineds there and Hubby needed to see is boss over a meeting he missed...

I picked up a few things and mostly used gift cards where possible..spent less than $10 so did great...I looked for candle wicks and couldn't find them anywhere..might just make my own out of waxed string or something..any ideas...that and I was looking for chalk to go with my blackboard paint projects and I couldn't find chalk..either the blackboard craze has sold out the chalk or it's a thing of the past with all the white boards and erasable maarkers?

I just spent some time going through my house and I found 4 little pieces of chalk and the eraser but no luck with wicks..did I mention I'm a hoarder and my house is a mess..:( I did some more magazine sorting this morning and laundry..I rode the x bike after we got home from Weyburn...oh yeah I vacuumed too...

Hubby has the hockey game on but I have no interest in hockey since the last game and he got all grouchy over the out come?!! Not my idea of entertainment anymore :( Once he falls completely asleep I'll turn it off...at least the computer never has a temper tantrum :)

Well enough about my rant..I'm gonna try and get lots of extra points today and try for my 1000 points early this month too. The new 5% challenge trip is to the Grand Canyon and the LTGL points are for blogging and commenting on blogs :) love it!!

    I totally forgot about this yesterday, but I have seen Martha Stewart to use 100% cotton string, tied to something like a washer or nut put at the bottom and then wrapped around a pencil that you rest across the jar then when wax is cool you cut the string to about 1/4 " to light.

I'm a bit of a hoarder too, but today I'm cleaning/organizing! Looking forward to a much brighter house by the end of the day.

    Did you try craft stores for the wicks and chalkboard paint? Also I don't know if you do any online shopping but I'm sure you can find both there, probably both if you did an online craft store. Good Luck!
