Energy creates energy...

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Hi ..I did some more sorting and clearing today....They say if you clear out clutter it produces energy in your life..I also rode my bike for 30 minutes..

We went in to town late this afternoon and got the mail and dropped off some burger (60 pounds) at a friend's and had a couple glasses of homemade beer :) I realized this was the first time I've been in town this year...not bad for keeping trips and shopping to a minimum...

I had my homemade soup for lunch and we just had quick frozen pizza for supper...now I'm just catching up on computer time and then off to bed...

..Thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'

Organization is hard, but I find if I spend 15 minutes a day on an area, it makes me feel accomplished and it really works to keep the house organized.

Just thought I would drop by for a quick "HELLO" not doing much here but staying warm. Need to go to town, but don't want to have to clean off the truck and brave the cold so I will stay here cuddled up under the quilt with the puppy dog and let the rest of the world go by.

A day of sorting...

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Hi..it snowed a tiny bit overnight, not enough to use my new snow shoes yet..but it turned really cold and windy..not so nice to be outside..but I helped hubby sort off 8 old cows from our herd of 140 and put them in with the bulls to get better feed and then we'll sell them in a couple weeks.

After that work out I came in and rode my x bike for 30 minutes and warmed up by the fire :) Lunch was leftovers..I had more of my soup and hubby had some of the homemade beans and some ham..yum yum.. Then I sorted through a bunch of magazines and got rid of 25 so far today..yeah me..also ripped a few pages out to keep about various subjects that interest me and also found some good burger recipes..a couple meatball madness ones, etc. Also started a file for my smash journals. Supper was oatmeal pancakes.

Spent some time on Pinterest..what a surprise..haha..the best idea I found tonight was how to use up the last in the bottom of jar candles...get a new wick and a clean jar, then heat the wax by putting the jar in boiling water and pour into bottom of new jar..let harden..repeat with layers of complimentary colors and scents to build a new candle jar :) I have a big collection of these...

I also found this on Pinterest...

THINK positive
EXERCISE daily
EAT healthy
WORK hard
STAY strong
WORRY less
DANCE more
LOVE often
BE happy

Night all..thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'

Missed yesterday's blog..

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Hi..I'm back from my one day holiday from blogging!! Yesterday we worked on rebuilding the bull corral so I was plenty tired in the evening. Then today we went to Weyburn and then to pick up our bull burger..almost all the shopping I did was on gift cards that we got for Christmas. Picked up some Valentines at the $store (a neighbor gave me a $10 gift card for the $store) Then I picked up a few groceries..the inlaws gave me a grocery store and Walmart gift cards :) I put in my 30 minutes on the x bike before we went to town..

After the busy and expensive month of December I like to try to cut spending in January..and use up what we have on hand. I did buy a small can of blackboard paint as I have some crafts to do with it..found them on Pinterest..that and my sister..the one who got me hooked on Pinterest in the first place, also told me about smash journals so I looked up some on Pinterest and I want to make some of them..I always start a few craft projects for the long winter..

I just got off the phone with my friend in BC..she's the Angel therapist and is starting a new e-mail workshop called Beauty is Soul Deep part 2 :) It starts this Sunday so I have that to look forward too.

I've been surfing to find some burger recipes..the bull burger is home and we have a sale for 100 pounds of it..we have almost 600 pounds..that's a lot of BULL. I found a yummy spark recipe for cheese burger soup that I want to try. We had some of the burger for supper and I scrambled it up with oniions and mushrooms and serrved it over rice with mixed veggies on the side...with apple crisp for dessert...very yummy :)

Well I better head off to bed and get some rest..my chest congestion hasn't turned into a cold or a flu so I don't feel too bad..

...Thanks for stopping by..keep on Sparkin'

OMG!! That's a lot of Burger! But there must be a million recipes out there so I'm sure you will find some creative uses for cooking it.
Since I'm in bed with the flu, I'm trying to get caught up on reading missed blogs. The hubby was home sick with the flu last Wed & Thurs, so I'm sure he shared it with me before he left for Dallas.
Shopping always sounds fun to me, I'm ready to get out of the house and do some.

I like your kind of bull. It is refreshing to get so much bull and all of that. If you look at any recipes you can use your bull instead of ground turkey.
I still have some left on the gift card you sent and am probably going to use to get some green yarn so I can get busy back on the granny square stockings for Christmas 2012.
You are in my thoughts and prayers and I may try out Pinterest for some craft ideas. I am always looking for new ideas.

Hamburger stew is a great slow-cooker recipe - brown the beef with onion and mushrooms, drain off fat. Add small-to-medium potatoes, with skin, quartered. Dice 2-3 ribs of celery and add.
I use 2-3 large carrots, cut in 1" pieces, then halved. Other vegetables can be added according to what you have. I often add frozen corn kernels. If I have left-over cooked cauliflower or broccoli, I add it later.

Pour in beef broth, just so you can see it starting to peek through vegetables in slow cooker dish. Season to taste; I like to add some worcestershire sauce or steak sauce, maybe some BBQ sauce, hot pepper flakes.

Cook for about 6-7 hours or until the potatoes and carrots are tender. Thicken gravy if you like with cornstarch or flour. Serve in bowls with crusty bread to soak up gravy.

Finally got off Pinterest..now it's time to Spark :)

Monday, January 09, 2012

Hi..yes I spent way too much time on Pinterest today haha..but I found Zumba videos so I can find out what those are all about :) Way out here I don't get a chance to attend fitness classes or go to the gym without driving for 1/2 hour...

Back to the swather saga..for those of you who don't know what a swather is it is a farm machine that is used to cut grain or hay and lay it in a swath..windrow for either a combine or a baler to pick up..actually we do alot of swath grazing which we just let the herd eat the swaths in the fall and saves the time it takes to bale and haul and feed and then clean the manure out of the corrals :) it's a real time saver!! Anyway we started bright and early again today and hauled the tractor on the trailer to the neighbors and picked up the reels from the last wrecked swather..hubby loves to weld and build so that's the plan for the first 2...then we went back for the 2 good swathers that we bought to use in the fields..they had to be put into transport and that took awhile..we also discovered one had a flat tire so off we went to home for a quick lunch of eggs and toast and get the air tank. Then after lunch we finished hooking them up and I pulled one home with the truck and hubby pulled his home with the tractor.

When we got home I rode the bike while hubby checked on the herd...then I made my typical Sunday supper of oven baked chicken and potatoes with beans and salad on the side...

Tonight we watched a bit of TV and I checked out more stuff on Pinterest and hubby napped on the couch..I also caught up on some phone calls too.

This week on 5% challenge the Starfish and I are tracking exercise and Me time..so for my me time I read some of my new magazines..I'd count Pinterest but it's suppsoed to be noncomputer...something for yourself for at least 15 mins.

I think I'm coming down with a cold or flu..I haven't been sleeping very good and my chest aches..I have a bit of a lung condition so it's not fun getting a cold :( The joys of aging...

Well I should still try and make my 11 pm bedtime even if I can't sleep..haha..Thanks for dropping by ..hope you don't catch my cold!! Keep on Sparkin'

Hi-we are also ranchers in Sask., but you are obviously way more hands on than I am! :) My husband does most of the outside stuff, and I work a "paying" job and do the books. We live in town but our place is only five miles out. Hope your cold doesn't get any worse!

I would love to share things with you, but you can keep your cold to yourself, I really don't any part of it. I am getting ready to make a pot of green tea. I have been having a lot of trouble sleeping so I am cutting back on the coffee and getting more tea down me.
God bless and I knew what a swather is. Takes me back to the farm days.

More adventures in Ranch land..

Sunday, January 08, 2012

Hi..while hubby took tractor in to the hospital I rode my bike and did some housework, vacuumed, etc. Then got hubby to help me move my exercise bike back into the livingroom..it shares a spot with the Christmas tree..haha.

For lunch I made round one of my turkey soup..took a frozen container of chunky turkey broth out and added spinach, celery, mushrooms, carrots, peas and barley and simmered it all morning..yum yum..

Then this afternoon, while the trailer was still hooked up we loaded another tractor (this one drove on) then went to a neighbor's to pick up 2 of the 4 swathers we bought from him..we got the 2 wrecked ones first and hubby loaded them with the tractor, I drove the second load home while hubby drove the tractor..it was only about 6 miles away..then I checked the herd and chopped water holes for them..and headed in to make supper..grilled steak, baked potatoes, peas and spinach salad...

Tonight I'm watching the 2nd hockey game of the night, we also watched a really funny Robin William's comedy show..it made me laugh so hard..they say laughing is jogging on the inside..I'd love to try laughing yoga or what ever it's called..my sister thought I could find it on youtube? Any body tried it?

Well better head to bed..it's nearing my 11 pm time for my sleep goal!! I was sooo good today, didn't go to Pinterest once..yeah me :)

Thanks so much for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'
