Hi I understand about being tired. I have two kids myself and they are 11 and three. At night I drink a green tea made by a company called Organo Gold. The tea is all natural whcih is something I am in to. PLus I found that the tea helps curb your apetite so I sip it during the day. Ladies check it out the company also makes natural coffee as well but I LOVE the tea. check them out at www.life2day.organogold.com. Ii works for me so I know it will work for you. "Let's go get it ladies"!!

Hi..come on in for a quick cup of tea...

Friday, November 04, 2011

We just got home from Regina..we went up to pick up a quad we bought. We went up after lunch and did a bit of shopping and went out for supper. Coming home I had a whopper of a hot flash..I felt like riding in the back of the truck on the quad..haha :)

I bought some birthday gifts for my littlest granddaughter who turns 7 on Dec 12, a few magazines for me and a bit of Christmas shopping :)

I drank quite a lot of coffee today, plus spicy, hot mexican food and a beer so the hot flash shouldn't surprise me..the three triggers..coffee, spicy food and alcohol :( my 3 favorite things..haha.

Now time to relax with a cup of tea..wild sweet orange..yumyum...put my feet up for awhile and then read some in the magazines.

This morning in did a bit of housework, rode x bike 30 minutes and then helped hubby with some pasture work..so it's been a looong day!

Thanks for dropping by and sharing a cup of tea..Keep on Sparkin' emoticon

Love Donna!

comforts of solitude, the pleasure of company....

I like that!

Haven't had any tea yet but I will think of you when I do! I'm more of a coffee drinker.

You inspired me with your "theme" for the month. Now I have incorporated a theme for myself this month and it is "I Did It" (whether good or bad or incidental).

Glad to be your SparkFriend!

Welcome to my tea party....

Thursday, November 03, 2011

Hi..I'm just sitting down with a cup of tea..just bought it today in Weyburn..it's Lipton Green Tea super fruit wild cranberry and pomegranate..yum yum. I bought some when I was up at my daughters and we really liked it. I've decided to buy new tea every time I go shopping in November..yesterday I bought a package of peppermint tea 20 bags for $1..I love finding bargains. I'm ready to get back drinking tea daily..really helps me to stop snacking in the evenings if I make tea instead.

Today we went to Weyburn and did some banking and shopping. I even started some Christmas shopping, ran into a friend and we had coffee together, stopped at in-laws for coffee, too. Found some new dishes to buy and a few other treats for me :) I bought a couple magazines on the RealSimple magazine has an article about..you guessed it Tea :) It's Karma. More on that later.

Starting November 1 breakfast is cooked oatmeal..so far it's been my new favorite.. oatmeal date cookie which is just 1 cup water, 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1 or 2 chopped dates.. microwaved for a couple minutes or til oats are done..yum yum. I bought a huge bag of pecans for Christmas baking and another favorite is oatmeal and chopped pecans. I've been collecting recipes for some variety..what's your favorite oatmeal? Ones I've found to try are carrot cake, zucchini loaf, apple pie, PB & J, Blueberry oatmeal, Pumpkin pie oatmeal, and Oatmeal raisin cookie..also Dr Oz suggested sprinkle cocoa powder on cooked oatmeal...they should keep me going for at least part of November but I'd love to hear your favorites :)

I'm tired tonight from so much running around and tomorrow hubby wants to go to Regina so I should make this a short blog...I helped with chores this morning and did lots of walking outside and inside..no dancing yet lol...

Thanks for dropping by and for all your comments..hope you enjoyed tea time..keep on Sparkin' emoticon

emoticonLove Donna...

Reading tea leaves...

In the November RealSimple magazine the article about tea said...

What your teacup can do for you..black..may lower cholesterol and reduce risk of stroke
...oolong..may aid in weight loss
...green ..may lower risk of cancer and heart disease
...white...has potential cardiovascular and cancer-fighting benefits
...herbal...chamomile tea may promote sleep, peppermint tea helps calm the stomach
...flavored...has the some benefits as black, green or white depending on the type used.

I use 1/2 cup oats, 1/3 c. Ocean Spray dried cranberries, a pinch of salt, and a scant cup of water and nuke for about 3.5 to 4 minutes (using old-fashioned oats).

I haven't experimented with other fruits, but I think raisins plus a dash of cinnamon would be good. (Can you say oatmeal-raisin cookie?)

I hope your weather is nicer than ours today. I just looked, yours seems a bit better, but not much. We had snow and wind yesterday and overnight and now we have drifts... It's supposed to get only a couple of degrees F above freezing today. And it's windy. I'm so not ready for this.

thanks for the great info. i used to drink tea and now i'm gonna start drinking it again...good time for it, too, as it is starting to get a little cooler at night. and i agree, it does help tone down evening snacking! as for oatmeal ideas...sorry, i have none. i eat mine with butter and salt, so that is probably not the best idea, but it does taste really good :)

yay tea and oatmeal!!!

I did have some oolong tea last week. I really like it!

I usually have some green tea with lemon when those colds strike with a sore throat.

I have chamomile when I need sleep and don't want the caffeine. However, peppermint tea really turns my stomach and that is weird because it is usually recommended to calm the stomach. Go figure.

You've got some great goals written down. I may need to "borrow" some of them! I'm currently training myself to drink hot tea in the morning - one cup. However, I can't seem to finish it before it gets cold.

Your goals sound marvelous. I should steal some of them...

Tomorrow some shopping in the big city (Great Falls) and then I hit the road home, hoping when I stop in Havre that my new glasses will be ready so that will save a trip to pick them up. Then home and back to the grindstone.

Well, we had 27 kids this year, and about the same last year.
Our house is build into a hill and 16 steps just to get to the front door. Some just don't want to climb it for candy, at least the parents don't.
Sure hope your day at the auction is a great day, and you bring home a huge supply of gold bricks.
And a big High Five for accomplishing all of your fantastic goals!
On to November, the turkey month!
