When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.....Victor F

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Hi..I'm still working on my October theme of CHANGE..I looked up more quotes on change on the web so I'll have a new one for each day left until November...then I'll be on a new theme.

Today daughter went to see her dr since she felt she wasn't healing properly and the dr said she pulled out a bunch of stitches and needs 5 more weeks to recoup :( They are making out ok there so I won't go back up unless she asks me...

I went along to help at the community pasture this morning as we had 4 big panels to load and bring home..we had to use our own as the government wouldn't provide any :(...then we checked our far away herd and then had lunch out at town..had a burger and coffee and a small tiger tiger ice cream cone..a yummy Halloween treat...then we did some banking, picked up some groceries and then paid land taxes.

For supper I made a deer roast with mashed potatoes and veggies...peach for dessert.
Hubby has been back to cleaning corrals...got 7 loads hauled out tonight.

I've been surfing the web and watching the movie "Halloween" Jamie Lee Curtis is one of my fav actresses.. Also talked on the phone to my sister and found some used tractors on line for hubby to look at. Also went to the Maxine site and read some of her cute cartoons.. I love Maxine cartoons :) She always makes me laugh...

Well it's been quite a quiet day here..I've been doing some cleaning and sorting as I really have to dejunk my house and do some fall cleaning...too many days either gone or working outside...that will definitely be on my list of goals for November..for now I'll leave the cob webs for free Halloween decorations...haha.

Thanks for stopping by..keep on Sparkin' and Keep on CHANGING

Hi..another cool and rainy day...did some beauty pampering today while hubby was gone to town!! I dyed my hair..much needed and overdue!! Then I did a micro-derm abrasion for all that old dead summer facial skin :) manicure and pedicure and then even curled my hair :)
Now I feel very pampered :) woohoo.

I'm just sitting down to watch the movie..127 hours and thought I'd write a quick blog...I just got off the phone with my oldest sister and we had a good visit...

This afternoon hubby and I checked our cows and then he worked on the corrals...

I made a peach crisp for hubby and still have a few peaches to do something with..maybe jam tomorrow?

It probably won't dry up enough to haul bales until after the weekend when we round up and take our calves to market for the sale on Nov 1. At least we avoided the snow :)

I wore my exercise clothes and did my 30 minutes on the exercise bike... still want to do my daily writing in the new journal...

Well..I best get on to my handwritten journal..thanks for stopping by..keep on sparkin' and keep on changing emoticon

PS ...I also did some window art this afternoon..painted a Halloween picture on the kitchen window for decoration... emoticon emoticon

If you don't change your approach you will never change your results...Jim Rohn

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Hi..It's the last few days of October and I'm still working on some changes..Rode my bike for 30 mins again today..woohoo..ate a healthy breakfast of kashi cereal and milk..snacked on fruit..had homemade soup for lunch and cabbage roll casserole for supper. I made extra and froze it. I also made some pumpkin muffins and a pumpkin sheet cake. It was cool and rainy here so I worked in the house most of today. I did go along with hubby to check the north herd and pick up an electric fencer and close some gates..we also counted how many bales left to haul wihen it dries up..about 16 more loads :) He did some work in his government pasture and found a neighbor had a bunch of his cows in there so he had to contact them to get them out :( Then later he went to town for his licence and went back anf checked the pasture. He's been working at changing oil and cleaning the corrals..so there is always something to do here.

I started a journal today..does anyone else journal..I seem to collect them and start one and write a page or two and quit..today I'm commited to writng every day until the end of the year.. hope I can do it!!

Well hubby is already asleep on the couch and I should get to bed soon too..tomorrows another day...

Thanks for stopping by..keep on Sparkin'..keep on changing emoticon

I like the quote I used for the title..If you don't change your approach you will never change your results.....kind of like the definition of insanity..doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results emoticon

The food all sounds so good. I eat Kashi cereal almost everyday. I love that stuff. But the pumpkin muffins & cake sound delish. Sounds like you are having fall weather for sure. We're still having sunnshine and warm weather but I think the cool weather is on it's way. I bought a really nice journal a year ago to start writing in, well, it's still blank. I'll try and make 2012 my year to write more.
Glad things are going well. emoticon

I think it's a good idea to keep a journal, but like you I never keep one for very long. It's fun to go back over them, although it can be very discouraging, too, to see that I was fighting the same battles more than 10 years ago. Hope the weather holds so that you can get all the bales in. Is there ever a "down" time for you, or do you just do different jobs in the winter?

Rohn said it, you're doing it!!

The blogging thing probably "substitutes" for a journal for me . . . except not every day!

Lovely catch up day :)

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Hi..Happy Sunday all..we had rain overnight so bale hauling is on hold for a few days. Hubby did some pasture jobs and I caught up with some laundry...I actually put on work out clothes and rode my bike for 30 minutes woo hoo :)

I talked to one of my sisters cuz it's her birthday..we had a good visit and lots of laughs. Then I spent somemore time puttering around the house and trying to catch up from being gone so much...then hubby and I checked the far away herd and then to town for Chinese supper..it's usually a Sunday smorg but I lucked out and we had to order off the menu..so I ate way less..it's Karma :)

Since I've been home I phoned one of my best friends and had an hour long visit..catching up with her life and sharing quite a few laughs...now I'm watching some TV and having some computer time..all in all a very relaxing day :) for a change!!

Well..I should go for now..thanks for dropping by, keep on Sparkin' and keep on changing emoticon

    Hey Donna

Work on the ranch is never done but rainy days sure do allow for catch up (and REST!!). sounds like your summer has been super busy.
I am trying to get all of my cows home from summer range and what a struggle this year. Prices are good so that is a blessing. Take care and have a wonderful week emoticon

Beautiful fall day and more bale hauling....

Saturday, October 22, 2011

Hi..we hauled 12 loads of bales today, too. I also went to town and got mail and a tire tube for hubby's tractor.

I've been doing some planning for November's theme and goals..and still working on finishing up October on a high note...the weight has been fluctuating so I' m ready to get serious about what has worked for me in the past and go back to that. I know tracking my food will be a big help and November 1st I'm back to that!! Also time to get back on my bike....to help me drink more water I'm using a large Monster energy drink container filled with water to motivate me..monster/Halloween :) Which reminds me..I'm gonna go fill it up again :)

I'm going to get busy and send some spark goodies since I haven't sent many in October yet.....

Thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin' and keep on

I'm glad God has blessed you with good weather for the hauling. May it continue until the task is completed! October has been a down month for me as well. I'm not as focused or disciplined. I'm planning on getting back on track and buckling down come November!

Have a wonderful Lord's Day!
