Hi..just a quick update...

Friday, September 02, 2011

Our trip to Bismark, ND was lots of fun...since then we've been busy, busy...hubby had another dr appt and he needs nore meds and more time off...yesterday we fenced a pasture for late grazing..took about 3 hours so it was a good work out

It rained last night..a very welcome rain, it was sooo dry here..we got about 1 1/2" so since it was muddy here we decided to go to Moose Jaw and tour a museum we've wanted to was really great!! Then we stopped for supper and now hubby and I both feel awful with flu like symptoms :( yuck

Tomorrow .I'm off to S'toon with one sister to visit our older sister and help her celebrate her 65th birthday a few weeks ago. We're just going up for the time I get back it'll be time to get back to work!!...

I've been working on some September goals..I'll post them in a few days when I get back....

Thanks for stopping by and keep on Sparkin'

We got over a foot of rain in the last 72 hours here. I wish we could share some with Texas and the rest of the you. Praying your husband gets the care he needs to be better than ever.
God Bless

Off on a mini vacation :)

Thursday, August 25, 2011

Since hubby's off work and our hay is caught up we're off on a mini vacation...going to Bismark, ND. We've never been there before so we'll see what there is to see around there.

I quadded all 4 home herds yesterday and hubby finished up the baling that was ready and finished the green oats that were ready to cut. It'll be a week before it's ready to bale or the other 2 fields of green oats are ready to off we go on a little adventure..

Talk to you all when I get home :)

Keep on Sparkin'

Bull round up is over :)

Tuesday, August 23, 2011 we finished the community pasture bull round up...the riders brought the bulls in and hubby and I loaded them and hauled them over to the west pasture.

The riders stayed for lunch again so today we had deer sausage in BBQ sauce in the crock pot, microwaved new potatoes, cole slaw and fresh tomatoes..dessert was one of those boxes of saucey chocolate pudding cake. Father-in-law also came out and brought donuts and a cute get well card for hubby.....The card said..yes your insurance covers getting bucked off your horse..but it doesn't cover hitting the ground..cute hey :)

Then hubby sent me to town for parts..the swather broke down I picked up some groceries and the mail....too.

After supper of leftovers hubby went out cutting oats for awhile and I visited with my sister on the phone and then did chores. While I was walking to the pasture to bottle feed the calf I discovered I've walked so much the bottoms of my runners are wearing through!!! Time for new chore runners!!

I'm really close to meeting my goal of gathering spark points and getting to the next level by the end of August. Maybe by tomorrow, even..woo hoo :)..a couple pounds have dropped off too :)

Thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'

Hot and windy day to swath...

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Hi..hubby not feeling too "hot" today..i think he over did it yesterday fixing the baler. We spent the morning sorting out the Workers Comp and had a replacement help the rider round up bulls and move the cattle. Then they all stayed for dinner so I made chilli..with homegrown beef, onions and carrots from the garden, also fresh tomatoes and new potatoes ...dessert was apple crisp made from apples from our tree.

Then I spent the afternoon swathing green oats for feed. It was really hot and windy and I was on a tractor with no least I got my water in today!!

I made noodles and mini meat balls with salad for supper. Then I wached some of my favorite shows.. The Closer and Rizzoli and Illes...

Then off to bed another busy day tomorrow..bull round up on the other side and hubby and I will truck the bulls to this side.

Thanks for dropping by and for all the kind comments on my blogs..Keep on Sparkin'

Hi Donna - one of the nicest things about SparkPeople is learning about all different sorts of lifestyles! I've never known anyone before who lives on a ranch, so it's lots of fun to read about your day-to-day plans. I hope your husband is feeling better soon, and that the replacement works out well. Your home-grown dinner sounds delicious.
Take care,

Life on a ranch is never dull, is it?
Hoping, as the others, that your husband feels better soon.
Fall is approaching way too fast for my liking! Your dinner sounds yummy! I decided to use my crockpot several times a week once the cooler weather settles in.

That's an amazingly local menu and sounds delicious. All best to your husband (and to you, of course); sounds like a very very busy time and tough not to be on top of his game . . .

Busy, busy days for you! Don't let hubby over do it . . . or recovery will be slower. Hard to keep a good man down though, isn't it? Your chili sounds yummy! As fall approaches, I'll be doing more soups and chilis and the like. Hang in there friend, and Have a good day!

So sorry your hubby isn't feeling so well today. I think he's probably supposed to be resting instead of working already right? Of course the Dr's never offer to come over and do the work for you do they.
It sounds like you have cooked some delicious meals though and I'm sure that will help him to feel better.
Don't try and do to much yourself either. I know we're all supposed to be Superwoman but you still need to relax also.

Hi...thanks for all the well wishes for hubby...he's feeling not so bad today..still sore but doing a few things. He did a bit of baling and then broke the baler down so I helped take it apart, went to town for parts and the helped put it back together..

I did some yard work besides and chores and housework...a friend just sent me an e-mail where the woman whispers in the mans ear..tell me something dirty..and he, bathroom, living room..then it says he didn't see the bat coming..haha :)

Thanks again for stopping by and for the comments..keep on Sparkin'
