The Riders won WooHoo

Monday, September 06, 2010

We had a great time at the football party and the Riders won :)

after the game we went to check a herd of our cattle about 30 miles from home, and on the way there we saw a moose, quite unusual around here.

Today I went on a cleaning spree..one of my other goals for September..how I wish I was born organized!!! I usually spend too much time outside to ever catch up on the cleaning. I washed some windows, washed some walls, washed bedding, curtains, rugs etc vacuumed and scrubbed the floors.

Then I helped hubby put tin on the roof of the old chicken coop, we haven't had chickens for years..we use it as a wood shed for our wood stoves. That's all finished..on to the next job.

Today was really labor day for me. I've been doing pretty good with my September spark goals..just didn't have enough fruits and veggies yesterday..unless you can count lime beer as a fruit haha.

I really appreciate all the feed back and all the fun stuff on blogs and teams etc

well time to go check out more stuff :)

Yahoo Riders!! I even "bonded" with hubby and watched the last hour instead of hiding out in the computer room like I usually do!

Wow, you got a lot of work done--huge accomplishment not to mention all those calories!

...and, I think you should give yourself credit for the lime beer--especially because it's rider green!! LOL!

I've been doing really well with my fruits/veggies lately. I made a pasta salad (light on the pasta), a potato salad (my really guilty pleasure, but this time I used fat-free mayo), and I just finished freezing the big sack of corn for corn on the cob/corn chowder all winter long. Go me!

I'm pretty sure that Lime Beer also qualifies as a grain! emoticon You make me tired just reading about your day, man oh man ... you were BUSY. Too bad about your white capri's there is alot of iron here in our water as well, but I am lucky as I have city water along with my well. I wonder if you could dye those capri's orange?

Rider Party//Labor Day Classic

Sunday, September 05, 2010

Hi..just as we're finishing lunch we got invited to go to our friends house, from the slo-pitch team, to watch the football game. If you're not from Canada, or Saskatchewan..the Riders are Sask's CFL team and they always play Winnipeg on the Sunday of the long weekend :) I'll go but if hubby can he'll cut grren oats instead, although it's raining a bit now..so we both might go...good excuse to drink beer and maybe stay for supper..they said it's lasagna :)

I might have a bit of trouble reaching all my goals for today but I've kept my food intake quite low today so far..coffee, all bran, milk and banana for breakfast and 2 eggs, toast, tomatoes and an apple for lunch.

I helped clean out the barn for about 1/2 hour this morning and rode my x-bike for 15mins.
I even got 10 points on my spin :)..well I'm off to do some sparkin' then off to the football game party :)

The Spark Teams are Great

Saturday, September 04, 2010

Hi..I've been doing some "team" work and checking out some new teams and getting to know the teams I've joined. The rest of the September goals are going great. I've been getting lots of comments and finding new friends ..so far September has been fun. I might have trouble with a daily blog for every day in September since I have quite a boring life.

Today I had coffee at a neighbor's while my husband took her son to look at his calf that was struck by lightening in the community pasture. Then we worked on the quonset and I went to town for more plywood. I quadded 3 pastures, did some house work and gardening. Husband is back to haying.

Hupe you're all having a great long weekend :)

I think you lead a very full life! It's only mundane to you ...
you surely get a LOT of exercise with all that activity!

Happy Sunday! emoticon

Sounds like the perfect life to me....you must live in the country. Wish I was there. I am stuck in a subdivision but oh well. WE can't all have the country live I guess but I was blessed with it for many years. I am so glad your teams are going so well. I love spark people too!! It has been a real blessing for me.
Hugs,
Sarah

September revised goals

Saturday, September 04, 2010

Due to all the spark points comments and how hard it actually is to get 100 park points a day I've changed that goal to 50 points per day.. a goal I've met so far in September. Thanks for all the comments..love the feed back :)

My 100 minutes spark fitness minutes is daily..I do alot of general farm work that is physical labor..like today I was helping husband put new plywood on quonset to get ready for tin,,,and carrying 2x4's and plywood up a ladder..in between times I was cleaning out the quonset. Quite a work out...

I'll have to add visiting more in my teams..I keep finding new, interesting ones.

Besides these spark goals I also have 9 other areas in my life that I'm doing charts and goals for :)

I also found my pedometer, but it's not working right I think I hit it with too many sheets of plywood. Where did I find it you may ask...right on my dresser where I set it when I changed out of yoga pants into jeans for the round up yesterday..haha

I'm really going to miss my memory or will I remember to haha..the joys of being over 50

It's not your minds, ladies, it's the pedometers that have minds of their own! I'm convinced they walk. And to top it off, I caught mine cheating me on my count! Ha!

Donna, I think you work so hard on the farm, walking is almost beside the point. Love your blog. I'm having trouble keeping up with recording my goals, etc, too... at least I discovered I can go back and do a day I missed without messing up my streaks, hehe.

Enjoy your... wait, is it Labor Day in Canada? Well enjoy your Monday!

Well ladies I went and looked on my dresser and it is not there. But thought it was worth a try since you both found yours there. 100 is lots of spark points but 50 is def doable

Ha ha! So funny to read this--I also recently lost my pedometer, and also found it on my dresser where I had changed clothes!! (and am also nearing 50 and losing my mind!!!!)

Have a great long weekend!

September goals

Thursday, September 02, 2010

I jotted a few goals for September

1.blog daily
2.8 glasses of H2O
3.track calories daily & stay within limits
4.100 spark points a day ( this is turning out to be hard..just got 71 yesterday)
5.100 spark fitness minutes
6.make 10 new friends :)
7.eat more fruits & veggies plus an apple a day
8.drink more tea (less coffee & beer haha)
9.take vitamins daily
10. lose 10 pounds

wish me luck..I was going to add 10,000 steps on pedometer but I think I lost it today during PFRA round up..I was in 4 different pastures and on the grid road with the quad so who knows where it went :(
I can't say enough about the support and friendliness from spark people..I know I can do this..it's so much fun emoticon

Great goals. 100 spark points works well if you get alot on the wheel, if you end up with 1 then its alot of time to get 100. Nothing wrong with that though, you will end up learning alot through all the reading. I think your goals are both do-able and challenging that's a good combo. Have fun

I think your goals are great-very good choices for better health and weight loss. I look forward to seeing you post at the end of the month about how well you have done.

that many spark points will require a lot of reading which I think is great, it will encourage great behavior, the 100 fitness points is that for a week or a month?

DONNACFIT 9/3/2010 12:17AM
