Hi..just a quick blog..with my beer and hockey game..got off the phone with my sister who's home from a 2 week trip to Holland with her family..sounded like the trip of a lifetime..so glad she had such a great time!!
I caught up on yesterday's video for the spring challenge and did today's too, as well as 30 mins on bike and usual farm work and some yard work and house work, too. Hubby went to town for some lumber and the mail while I stayed home and puttered.
Been working on my goals and they're coming along and I feel back on track. My cards for keeping me on track are working fine..so far I've made 4..an exercise one with 6 daily things and 6 extras...a nutrition one also with 6 daily and 6 extras and the other two are the same only house one and self care one..my attempt to get organized and be on track..
I worked today on some recycling projects..I've been really happy with my go green plan on reducing garbage..I sort out all the recycling and take it to town, then the wet scraps go out to the pile and the coffee grounds get put in a separate container..in winter I make woodstove logs of them so I was just going to throw them away for spring and summer but I got a magazine (First for Women) and it had an article called 10 uses for coffee grounds :)
freshen up a musty car overnight
solve an ant problem
erase scuff marks on wood furniture
reduce the appearance of cellulite..mix with olive oil or baby oil and massage then shower it off
reveal a soft glowing complexion mix 1/4 cup with an egg white massage onto face, let dry, rinse off
sweep without kicking up dust..sprinkle damp grounds on garage floor and weep
sop up oil spills without scrubbing
tenderize tough cuts of meat (use fresh grounds) coat steak with olive oil, rub with a mixture of 1/3 cup ground coffee and 1/3 cup pepper..chill 30 mins and BBQ
ensure beautiful blooming shrubs..dig in around plants
add dimension to brunette hair..steep1/4 cup grounds in 3 cups hot water, let cool, strain and pour over clean damp hair, let sit 2 mins then rinse
I found quite a few I'd like to try and some I've tried already...Go Green!!
Today's daily wisdom..
"Feeling good about yourself involves more than a fit body. Commit yourself to constant self-improvement by challenging your mind as well as your body, and savor the feeling of self-accomplishment"
I've been finding all sorts of fun web sites..and Spark too of course to read and learn :)
Well..the hockey game is in overtime but I'm not sure I'll stay awake til the end, I stayed up after midnight watching the election last night...
Thanks for stopping by..keep on Sparkin'
