Monday, Monday and Raspberry Thriller Tea #2

Monday, January 24, 2011

Hi..Damn I hate it when I type a blog and it disappears between spell chexk and posting :( I think I said what all I did today..ride bike, weights, had deer soup for lunch, made a spark recipe for supper..beef chow was good..hubby even complimented ti :)

We were supposed to have a meeting with a pipe line rep but he phoned and said he was stuck..took a wrong turn and was in a snow we went over and pulled him out with one of our 1 ton trucks, then we spent the rest of the afternoon going through paper work.

Now I've been sitting on the couch , having tea and watching some of my favorite shows..and checking out stuff on the lap top..both daughters sent me messages..I love to hear from them even if it is just an e-mail :)

Thanks to everyone for dtopping by my blog or page..I really appreciate it!! Hope you're all having a great week..Keep on Sparkin'..this is the condensed version...

Love Donna

January Goals recap..grab a cup of tea and sit a spell...

Sunday, January 23, 2011

Hi..I've had quite a lazy Sunday..I like that. I did ride my bike for 30 minutes, kept within calorie ranges and all that :) We watched an afternoon movie..then hubby blew snow and I did a bit of cleaning, got fire wood and made supper. Lunch was our usual eggs and toast... I had mine with salsa and hubby had bacon and homefries with his. Supper was also our usual Sunday supper..chicken, sweet potatoes and a veggie..I made cabbage salad ..then lemon pie for dessert..I had a sliver again :)

Jan goal recap...

emoticonrefresh spark pic and new program :)

emoticonrecord and on a calendar with stickers :)

emoticontea..yes..almost every night so far, missed a few days :)

emoticonexercise..yes every day I've done some..also joined 28 day boot camp and did it about 10 times, hurt my back and have more or less least I did some of it and now I know how the videos work :)

emoticonwater..yes..I've been drinking at least 10 cups a day including tea..I'm using a quart sealer and drink 2 or 3 plus a pot of tea most nights

emoticonhealthy foods..yes..I've been eating lots of fruits and veggies and have been making a huge pot of soup from scratch weekly then having it for a meal a day :)

emoticonstreaks..I've kept up my steaks of water, log in points and exercise since Sept 1..and I've only missed a few days of blogging since then too :)

emoticonDr. Weil's 8 weeks..not so much..I have mostly incorporated his ideas into my life now's just a refresher anyway..

emoticonHouse..I've been doing a bit off decluttering..sorted out over 100 books to give to my sister for the school library where she works, took lots and lots of magazines to the recycling..haven't gotten back to painting yet much to little energy for it :)

emoticonrejuvenate..well I've been trying to remember face and body lotion to rid myself of dry flaky winter skin, been doing lots of reading for refreshing ideas, I bought myself a new coat..old one was getting way too big..also got some compliments so that's very day hubby even paid me a morning we woke up with all the covers on his side and he said it was cuz I've lost all that weight and now the bed doesn't lean to my side..haha :)

emoticongoal lose 4 to 5 pounds..I didn't reset my ticker from Christmas gain but now I'm about one pound away from my ticker and that's around a 3 to 4 pound loss so I'm happy with that :)

So there you have my goal update..hope you're all doing great with your progress too. The weather has warmed up but the wind is so up today it still feels quite cold..but way better than it has been...and it's supposed to stay nicer for the whole week :)

I spent lots of time today reading on Spark..I found an interesting idea..cook oatmeal in tea and add cinnamon :) I'd like to go to a second hand store and look for cheap and different tea pots and tea cups.

Well I've finished my little pot of cinnamon tea..thanks for stopping by and keep on Sparkin'

Still chuckling about hubby's comment...that's awesome!!!

MT-Moonchaser's comment has me grinning too!! I love the idea of our bodies releasing insulation!! lol If only it were that easy!! Mine thinks it needs year round insulation, maybe I should trick it into thinking it's safe to lose some by bundling up more often!!

Great progress on all of your goals!!! Tea in oatmeal sounds yummy!! Same principle as soup stock in cold day I think I'll be diggin out the oatmeal!!!

Take care, and have a great week!!

Oh, so nice. I love that you've kept up on your goals. And people including hubby noticing the weight loss, priceless.

I love to read all the stories on SP too, I could spend all day just reading. Hmmm...maybe I should get to writing some of my own stories.

Looks like you are doing pretty good. Now that it's warmer for a while, maybe your body will release some of that insulation it thinks it needs for the cold weather. :-)

Have a good week and enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts -- I plan to.

Cinnamon Warmth Tea to bring on the warm up...

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Hi..I've been busy giving out goodies to team Sask members and adding some comments to pages..the team Sask challenge included 5 goodies and 10 comments. Also included drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water, get a plant or fresh flowers..I did that last week with my mini orange roses..they still look okay but it's time to pour out the water and use them as a dried bouquet!! I do that all the time, so I can enjoy them longer :)

Thanks for all the comments on my refreshed page and new picture...I really appreciate the positive made my day :)

Lunch was a homemade pizza..I had less dough so it was a thin crust (less calories) I made the sauce with some tomato soup, BBQ sauce and spices..then added sautéed onion slices and mushrooms (in olive oil so it's healthier) then added some sliced deer sausages and a sprinkling of 3 cheeses..mozza, cheddar and parm..hubby doesn't like it real on the other hand thinks the more the better..gotta think like hubby :)

While I was making the pizza I also made the week's soup...some of the onions and mushrooms , the rest of the tomato soup and a bag of frozen homemade tomato sauce..some celery, green peppers, carrots and spinach (some had seen better days..a good add to soup) also some sliced deer sausage and some spices and simmered it during lunch...
now I have soup ready for the week :)

Supper was steak, brussels sprouts and spinach salad with mushrooms..I also had a little sliver of chocolate meringue pie for dessert (I made 2 pies for hubby, also a lemon meringue one) I apparently like to make it hard on myself!!! haha!! Does anyone else have a hubby with a sweet tooth??

I rode my bike for 30 minutes..can't wait til that can be my outside bike..winter's getting looong!!!

Another challenge was to add lots of fruits and veggies to your day..I had 1/2 banana, handful of saskatoons, a grapefruit, onions, mushrooms and tomato sauce and spinach, mushrooms and brussels sprouts and just had 4 dates for a snack with my tea..

More of the challenge was to bake some bread..should dust off the bread machine tomorrow!
Read a book..working on that..always...try a new fruit or veggie..I'd have to go shopping for that..and the last one not done..a pamper me session..well, I've been enjoying all my new magazines and to me that's a major pamper for me :)

How's your weekend been going? I kind of feel like I spent most of my day in the kitchen..I also worked on some books, got some mail ready and did some cleaning...hubby spent most of the day out doing chores but we did play some cribbage..I lost :(

Now I'm finishing my tea and watching some hockey/curling..after I got control of the remote!! Before we watched parts of 6 movies and a hockey game and some car auction..hubby loves to channel surf..sometimes it drives me batty!!! So off to the lap top I go :)

One of these days I should recap January's goals..maybe tomorrow..things are going great!
Thanks for stopping by for a chat and tea..keep on Sparking..

Love Donna

Glad to see someone likes deer. It's a Power Food in Weight Watchers so I use in in meatloaf, chili, deer steak burgers, etc. I've gotten the BH to go for Weight Watchers Giant Fudge Bars ice cream so I can satisfy his sweet tooth with that. Hope you enjoy that great soup. Take heart, Spring will be here in a couple of months and we can get outside. Take care. emoticon

Hey - it looks like you got your warm up!!

And, of course, along with it comes the wind...

We're actually above freezing here today. And the wind is picking up, so I suppose that the snow will be settling in a bit. I need to go out and do some shoveling on my path to the street. Yesterday morning we had at least two more inches and I managed to step off the beaten track and ended up in snow to my knees. Yay!!

Have a good week!

Your doing wonderfully with your teams and your own personal goals. you've been a great motivator, although I could never keep up at your speed through out the day.
I doing good so far this weekend although my hubby bought me a Starbucks frapp tonight. Luckly I'm still under my calories.

The pizza and soup sound delicious! I like to get a few meals ready for the week. While in the kitchen, I might as well do more than one thing! My hubby has a sweet tooth also. If I don't have goodies around, he raids the bag of chocolate chips! We watched some hockey tonight too. Enjoy the rest of your evening! emoticon

New profile picture...

Friday, January 21, 2011

Hi..I've been working working on refreshing my spark page..put up a new profile I realized that it was a quick picture I took this morning..with out doing my hair or having any makeup on !! haha! and all my other pictures..camping, after swimming with the Granddaughters etc have me with no make up..I think for my goal pictures when I'm all made up and have my hair done :) Oh well you guys are seeing the real me!

Speaking of seeing, when I was updating my page and went to the bottom to save changes I saw for the first time a box that says how many people have viewed my page..mind boggling, awesome and kind of scary at the same time..almost 3000 think I've bored that many people..haha!!

On to what else I've been doing today. I rode my bike for 30 mins while I talked to my sister on the phone..while we were talking she could tell I was riding my bike since I was starting to breathe heavy..did some housework and sorting, shovelled snow, hauled wood to the house and burned some garbage. Then hubby and I went to town, got the mail and brought 50 magazines to the recycling. Then out for supper and got drinking water on the way home, then checked the oil site. Now I'm watching tv, catching up with Spark and reading some new mags that came in the mail..and drinking beer..multi-tasking at it's finest on the couch (also listen to hubby read tidbits from his papers and magazines) if this doesn't make complete sense blame any of the above!

Lunch was the last of my weeks soup and a tuna wrap with a bit of cream cheese and a handful of spinach, then yogurt. Had an orange with coffee and cribbage ( got skunked twice today :( ) Supper at the cafe was clam chowder and a grilled chicken breast on a bun with lettuce and tomato and coffee..had a treat of a small bowl of maple walnut ice cream when we got beer..will I have room for tea later???

It has warmed up some..storm forecast for tonight and tomorrow..that's why we got the mail's been a week since we got the mail!! Nothing like living 20 miles from your post office :) Next week is supposed to be above normal and we can't wait!! Too many cold days!!
If it does get nice we may go to Williston.. although I don't really need much but it's fun to get out...I've been trying to cut down on my spending by tracking the days I stay home and don't spend any money!!! I read if you spent around $27 a day you spent $10,000 a year..yikes!

Well I should go for now..thanks for stopping by for a chat ..have a great weekend and keep on Sparkin'

Hi Donna, Now we've got your cold weather (thanks a lot!!!)

I'm sitting with my feet up after a lot of shoveling, and I've got a pot of tea next to me. I'm going out to the store soon to pick up a bunch of fresh veggies and fruits (with your inspiration again!) See what a good healthy influence you are? emoticon

LOL!!! just the kind I like, in the confines of my own home, relaxing, each doing our own things, enjoying the others company . . . comfortable! Hope it warms up for you soon . . . the cold makes it difficult to be motivated!!! Have a wonderful day!

Brrrr it's cold here....

Thursday, January 20, 2011

Hi another cold windy day!! below -40 with the wind chill..quite a storm was happening tonight but it's settled down a bit..this kind of weather makes me feel like hibernating!! I did walk outside for about 10 minutes to go to the shop and tell hubby our neighbor was on his way up to pick up his mom's groceries. He stayed for coffee and a visit.

I did a bit more sorting and recycling. Made banana cupcakes for hubby. I had a spinach salad with mushrooms and peppers and salmon for lunch and had a bowl of my chicken noodle veggie soup and half a sweet potato for supper and some applesauce and a little spoon of ice cream for dessert...yum yum.

I drank my gem jars of water and I'm off to make some tea..I think peppermint tonight :)

I hope you're all keeping warm on this frosty night!! We're still waiting for the big warm up!!! Or at least to have temps around normal!!

I got an e-mail that team Sask is doing a challenge that sounds like lots of fun so I'm joining in!! One thing was to add more fresh fruits and veggies to your diet and I bought quite a lot of that in Regina and Weyburn..I have fresh spinach, mushrooms, green peppers, sweet potatoes, celery, onions , cauliflower, cabbage and parsnips from the stores. I also have lots of potatoes and carrots from the garden..then I have frozen stuff, either homegrown or boughten. I also have lots of fruit on hand..fresh and frozen :) Another was to make soup and I've been doing that weekly since Jan 1...also give goodies to team members and comment on their I go to give some goodies and comments....

Have a great evening..thanks for stopping by for a chat and tea..oh..I thought if I ever changed my spark name I'd change it to Teabag :) haha..or maybe Loosetea :)
Take care and keep on Sparkin'

Wow, the wind is blowing here and it's cold but nothing like your cold. In the 20's but I really feel it. I also bought lots of veggies and fruits at the store this week. Still have some left for the weekend. I think I'll make a big pot of soup with some of them. We also have potatoes, beans and corn from the garden so we don't have to buy those. Have a good weekend and enjoy it. emoticon
