January goal update...

Hi..We went to Weyburn today so I'm quite bushed..thought I'd do a quick update
on how the January goals are coming....

-Refresh my spark page..not yet

-Record progress..yes..keeping track online here and on a calendar :)

-Tea..missed one day when I had beer with hockey instead..hmm which flavor should I have tonight? I have a sore throat so I think ..peppermint :)

-Exercise...I joined the 28 day boot camp so I've een doing that plus riding my bike, some walking outside, etc :)

-Water..have at least 10 cups including tea..been drinking water out of a gem jar, 2 or 3 day should do the trick :)

-Healthy foods..been making a huge pot of soup and been having that for supper on week nights, eating more whole grains, more veggies..trying to limit treats :)

-Streaks..keeping my streaks of tracking food, water, exercise and blogging daily, also getting spark points of around 50 per day :)

-Dr.Weil's 8 weeks..week 1..project.go through kitchen and get rid of bad foods..almost done..just one cupboard left :) more fresh veggies and fish..suppliments..I take vit C, Vit D, Vit E, calcium, multi vit and fish oil..exercise..10 min walk 5x a least that much..mental and spiritual.. think about healing..flu is gone :) attention to breathing :) fresh flowers..only place we went was Weyburn today and it was way too cold to bring them home!!

-House..besides the Dr. Weil going through cupboards, I undecorated from Christmas, took over 100 magazines to recycling, and took lots of big garbage bags to the burning barrel :)

-Rejuvinate..been using the new face wash with the scrubby brush and moisturizing, plucked brows..instant face lift :) bought shine spray for hair and been using my flat iron as I'm growing out my long shag..been using my back massager with heating feature :) try to remember to use lots of lotion to combat dry flakey winter skin and chapped lips from the cold...I also bought new skinny jeans that are extra long but I need to lose 5 to 10 more pounds to zip them... :)

-Weight..down a couple of Christmas pounds and am close to my tracker weight :)

So that's my goal progress to date..hope your January is as great as mine so far...

Has anyone else noticed that the Spark e-mails to you e-mail account (not the spark one) all turned off by them selves?? Or is it just me? I still get the notifications that someone commented on spark page, etc.. Oh well..I was finding it very hard to keep up with them all since I joined so many teams..

    Wow, You have been doing really good keeping up with your new goals. Also the reycling and keep up with the beauty products and you'll be walking down the runway soon with your long hair blowing in the wind.
And yes, my daily & weekly emails shut off twice and I had to reset them. Maybe some kind of bug in their system. I've been getting them all right for a week now.

Hi..happy Sunday to you all..I've been having quite a lazy Sunday..I did my day 5 of bot camp..but no bike today...slept in, talked on the phone, had company all afternoon and have been checking out the web all evening.

I made a big batch of whole wheat and oatmeal waffles for lunch and then froze what we didn't eat... I made oven baked chicken breasts and sweet potatoes and mixed veggies for supper. I had huckleberry tea with my neighbor while the men had coffee..and I'm having another cup tonight.

I was going to blog tonight about how the goals are going..but I'm too lazy..tomorrow's another day :) I think I'll call it a night..hope you had a great weekend!!!

Son phoned from Mexico and left a message since hubby was on the phone..his phone was turned off when we tried to phone least we know they arrived safe :)

    Sounds like you had a pretty good Sunday. I mostly stayed inside and tried to catch up on e-mails. They sure pile up when you don't go through them every day.

I'm bracing for the cold to really hit tomorrow, digging out the long johns.

Hi..I'm having coughing fit so I'm having a cup of tea with honey..then off to bed.
It's been stormy and snowy and windy today..I did 30 mins on bike, 10 mins boot camp, sorted out one cupboard..the one under the microwave and I found more tea haha!! Then I made a huge pot of beefy, tomato veggie soup to eat for the week..the turkey soup worked for the past week..I'm down 2 of the pounds I gained over Christmas..almost back at my tracker weight!!

Then hubby and I spent the afternoon doing farm books on the computer..we're just learning a new program and it's painful!! My head's still not completey better!!

We had T-bone steaks for supper..mine with spinach and mushroom salad and cooked carrots, cauliflower and brussels sprouts :) Then I had a little sliver of sour cream raisin pie I made for;s his favorite :) A thank you for helping me with the books. I read someplace if you don't eat the crust you save 100 cals!

Son and his girlfriend were leaving for Mexico for a week this evening so I hope it wasn't too stormy at Saskatoon to fly..I haven't heard so no news is good news!!

We watched a few John Wayne movies as there was a marathon on tv..that while I checked e-mails, etc and played a few games.

Well tomorrow I'm going to try and recap January's goals...and list week 2 of Dr Weil program..

    Dinner sounds good but the weather doesn't. I guess you get used to the cold weather where you live. It's been about 45 here and I'm freezing. Your son is very lucky to be heading to some place warm. My hubby and I had a movie night too, our dish network is offering free Showtime this weekend so we're catching up on all the movies we haven't seen. Earlier we walked around the mall a few times so I could get in my exercise. It's warmer than walking on the treadmill in the cold garage.
Your tea sounds good too. Hope your feeling much better tomorrow.

Ginger Peach tea..

Hi..welcome to my blog :) Just relaxing with a little pot of ginger peach tea. I've had a full and productive day :) One job I did was to organize my teas..I took them all out of the boxes and put in ziplock bags..labelled and filed in a basket. I discovered I have over 20 assorted types of tea..good thing I've started to drink it daily. And speaking of drinking I've been drinking water out of a quart sealer/gem jar..if I drink 2 to 3 of them it's 8 to 12 cups :) some times I put slices of frozen lemon, lime or oranges in it for a bit of flavor. I also have some sliced cucumber in the freezer but haven't tried that yet.

I did my 30 mins on my bike and day 3 of 28 day boot camp and st...then hubby came in for coffee and we played crib..I actually got dealt four 5's and hubby cut a 10 on top :) best hand I ever had..then couldn't remember what 4 of a kind counted so dug out rule book and discovered desk junk drawer needed dejunking bad!! Couldn't close it after digging the book out. So after coffee I got that cleaned out..and found a put that on.

After lunch..I had a tuna wrap again :)...we went outside to work on the wood for the stove..I shovelled the deck off, brought in some saw dust for fire starters, helped carry wood into the wood shed (old chicken chickens here anymore) for hubby to cut up and them hauled a large load on the calf sled to the house. Meanwhile I had about 5,000 steps on pedometer :) then I bumped it and it cancelled out so I started it's at 6,500 now so that's 11,500 from about 11 am on. Hubby went to town for the mail, etc. while I took down the last of the Christmas decorations and shoved my tree into spare room closet :) Then vacuumed and tidied. I had turkey soup for supper..I made a huge pot and have been eating it all week :) It's been helping me keep my calories low and still feel full. Now what kind of huge pot of soup should I make next week? We have some leftover roast beef so I think I'll do a beef, veggie and tomato one :)...

I've been doing some blog reading and found some yummy food ideas and web sites to go to...

I'm really glad so many of you commented on my oatmeal blog from yesterday..I especially liked the brownie oatmeal suggestion..cocoa and walnuts.yum yum!!

Well I'm finished my little pot of tea. So I should sign off for now..Thanks for dropping by for tea and a chat..keep on Sparkin'

    have you seen the Mcdonald's commercial? oatmeal with apples cranberries and walnuts. YUM! my youngest actually asked to go to McDonalds one morning to eat oatmeal! LOL

    Sounds like you had a very good and busy day. You did get alot done including work and exercise.
So what's up for the weekend? I think you should treat yourself and your hubby to a fun time. You both work so hard.
It's so cold here tonight we have a fire going. I think I also need to make some tea.

Sounds like a fairly productive day! That`s awesome!! I was looking at a few pedometers today...the only expirience I`ve ever had with them was this one that McDonalds was giving out way back when salads were new to the menu. It counted steps when u were just moving but not actually touchy do you find the pedometer? Can you walk 20 counted steps and have it read roughly or exactly 20 steps?? Cuz I know a trackable number, especially one like 11500, would be a huge motivator!!

New candy cane tea :)

Hi..just having a pot of candy cane's a loose tea a friend gave me so I had to find my tea ball to try some..It's good..king of minty/flowery :)

It's been mild here the past few days but tonight the wind is howling and hubby has a nice fire in the wood stove :)

I did some more undecorating, laundry and cleaning today..played crib..baked muffins (oatmeal, cranberry, almond ones to use up the last of the cranberries) I rode my bike for 30 mins and did 2 videos of the 28 day boot camp..I did day one over and then day 2. But mostly I was on the internet getting rid of e-mails and reading some interesting sites. Also spent some time on Spark of course!!

Still not too clear headed so didn't tackle any deep thinking projects..haha!! Did some sorting in the basement..or "the dark" as my kids used to refer to it when they were little!! Not much has changed.

I've been finding some neat things on oatmeal..right now I'm doing my own 28 day all-bran challenge and after that it's on to oatmeal. I like to automate breakfasts so I have a steak of the same thing..easier to prepare and track..usually it's Kashi cereal but my supply is running low and I'm hoarding my last box haha! I found some interesting recipes for was carrot cake add finely grated carrot, some spices and raisins etc before you cook it. Another one was pumpkin oatmeal with a few tablespoons of pumpkin and spices added before you cook it, nuts could also be added to either..sounds very yummy and can't wait to try them..even for a snack or dessert. Another article had tons of toppings for molasses, or maple syrup, fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, toasted coconut, peanut butter or even crumbled bacon??!! Some of these sound good, some not so much...another interesting was to top cooked oatmeal with crushed gingersnap cookies and spices..yum yum. Well after this rather lengthy search of oatmeal I was reading spark blogs and found another oatmeal idea..on my friend ONECOOKIETWO's blog. To use leftover cooked oatmeal in turkey meatballs with lots of interesting spices..sounds good and a great way to make any ground meat healthier and use up leftover oatmeal!!

Well I should probably finish my tea and go to bed early..or play some computer games, tv is boring tonight and hubby is on his work computer..all is quiet here except for the wind...

    Chocolate brownie oatmeal: add 1 tsp cocoa to 1/2 cup large flake oatmeal and 2/3 cup boiling water: nuke 2 minutes; sweeten with Splenda (I do, some won't use the stuff) and sprinkle with 1 tbsp chopped walnuts. Then pour on the added calcium skim milk: pretty yummy!!

And that candy cane tea sounds great!

    I bet the tea taste and smell wonderful! I love oatmeal! My favorite is 4 grain. It is a mix that has 4 different grains in it including sunflower seeds. I am a big fan of sparks Applesauce Oatmeal muffins. I make these with raisins, cranberries, blueberries, . . . or about another other fruit that I can substitute in. The carot cake oatmeal and the pumpkin oatmeal sound delicious! Makes me want to break out of the mold and try something new!

    Wow! Even on your slower days your still real busy. I've been undecorating also but still need to organize it all better before storing it for next year.
The oatmeal recipes do sound really good since I do love oatmeal and it's time to start making healthy food again.
Good for you doing the 28 day boot camp. I may give it a try also, although right now I'm still catching up on all the things that didn't get done during the holidays. Soon it will all be caught up.
How are the cows doing?

    I am so jealous! I love oatmeal....a big bowl with raisins, honey, bananas, and milk. Unfortunately, my program (and my doctor) only permits 60 grams of carbs a day so I have to make really good choices, and that bowl of oatmeal is probably a couple hundred carbs. I used to make several different kinds of oatmeal cookies and I liked to put it in my meatloaf, too.
