Beer and hockey..Canada lost to the Russians :(

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

Hi..just a quick blog..I had light lime beer tonight instead of tea while I was watching jr hockey..too bad Canada lost..

I just got off the phone from visiting with son is Saskatoon and one daughter in Alberta..she's actually in BC visiting her boyfriend .. aren't cell phones great..I didn't even know she was going to BC.

I started the 28 day boot camp and did day one, also rode 30 mins on bike, walked outside for 10 mins and did ST today. I think I'm on the mend from the flu, finally!! I also did more cleaning and undecorating..kitchen and bathroom are finished!!

I posted on a message board for some ideas to use canned tuna..I like it but didn't have many ideas..I do tuna salad sandwiches, tuna melts and a tuna curry that my mom used to make with celery, onions and tuna and curry powder served over rice. It kind of has a white sauce and sometimes I sub. celery soup. Anyway there was some very yummy ideas, a BBQ sauce one sounds very good. I found a coupon book with recipes and made the wrap for lunch today..spread a ww wrap with low fat cream cheese, top with baby spinach leaves, stir 1/2 can tuna with 1/2 cup salsa and spread over spinach, fold over and eat yumyum :) I'm trying to eat more fish this year!

My January goals are coming along..the weight is inching down..can't wait to be at least back to what my tracker says I weigh!!haha!!

We drove over to check on the service rig and the boss says it's all ready for the pumper which means its a producing well. The service rig moved out today.

I so often start the new year with a bad cold or flu..must be all the activity over the holidays or being around more people :( at least this year I shook it myself and didn't need to visit the doc for a prescription :)

I should finish off here and get to bed..tomorrow's another busy day, I plan to finish putting away all the holiday decorations and work more on decluttering...
also do the boot camp, etc

Thanks for stopping by for a chat..take care and keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna

I was so sad to see the team lost in such a horrible way. Silver is still great but I am sure they were not feeling the greatest about it. I LOVE the tuna idea, I am going to try it.

Chocolatey mint tea..yumyum...

Tuesday, January 04, 2011

Hi..still feeling quite under the weather..flu has my head pounding and fever and chills still coming :( I went along to town today with hubby to get a bit of groceries, mail, etc...needed some stuff from the drugstore and almost forgot to pay for it!! My friend the pharmacist (I used to work there) was working the till. I bought a magazine, sympathy card for my neighbor and some flu medicine. There's a greeting card deal with a card to initial..I guess finding that in my purse felt like paying...what a space cadet!!!! Friend had to say "I need some money!!"

I thought I had cabin fever but I should have stayed out of town!!! I mailed a parcel to my daughter in Alberta and Christmas thank-yous to the rest of my family...I don't get to see my granddaughters very often so I like to write them letters about once a month, they like to get mail :)

I did 20 mins on my bike, and 10 mins of outside walking..took down a few more decorations..phoned my sister....took about 100 magazines to the recycling in town (mostly ones son had sorted out)..I'm doing pretty good at tracking stuff.
If my head is a little clearer tomorrow I should do some work on the farm books and keep at my decluttering plan.

It is starting to warm up here and should be nice for a few days then cold again for the weekend....that's winter in Saskatchewan!!!

The last couple days hubby and I have been playing cribbage at coffee breaks :) one of hubby's favorites!!

Boy I can't wait till I'm feeling better soon and get some more done around here!! I don't make a very good patient! I have been enjoying reading lots on spark and getting motivated!!

Had more turkey soup for supper and now I'm finished my pot of tea so I should sign off this blog..it might not make much sense...

Take care..keep on sparkin'

Love Donna

Hope you fill better soon! I hate that fuzzy headed flu, with the chills and fever! It's always fun to get snail mail . . . there isn't that much of personalized hand written notes anymore! emoticon

So who's the better crib player? One summer I taught my kids to play and we kept track of points and, if we'd been playing for a penny a point, I would have been broke... It sure is a fun game, though.

I hope you feel better soon.

Just finished my little pot of peppermint tea and watching jr hockey!

Monday, January 03, 2011

Hi..I'm still feeling under the weather..but I did really great on my progress..did my 30 mins on bike and 15 min walk/run outside, stayed within calorie limits, worked on decluttering my house, put away a little bit of Christmas..I don't have much extra energy to get it all put away. I made a big pot of turkey soup with some frozen turkey ( I didn't give it all away to my kids)

I spent some time reading through blogs.. getting some motivation by reading other's resolutions, goals, etc.

This will be a short blog..should try and get some rest and kick this flu...

Thanks for stopping by for tea and a chat..keep on Sparkin'

Sunday, January 02, 2011

Hi.. I'm feeling a bit better..did my 30 mins on the bike and walked outside a bit and brought in fire wood. Also did some dejunking and burning!!

I was going to share today about my goal..doing the first 4 weeks of the Dr. Weil Optimum Health. It's something I do every January and February to get healthier...each week you add a few little changes toward better health.
Week one..project..go through kitchen. get rid of bad oils/ art. sweeteners/ dyes/
...diet..add fresh broccoli 2x and salmon 1 or 2x..a week
...supplements...some to add..Vit C/Sel./vit E/mixed carotenoids/CoQ10
...exercise..add 10 min walk 5x a week
...mental/spiritual..think about healing/ pay attention to your breathing for 5 mins daily.
...buy fresh flowers for yourself :)

Progress is good :) hope you're all revved and ready to go with the new year!!
Off to make some tea!! Thanks for stopping by

Love these ideas. And: I always have fresh flowers on my kitchen table -- from the garden during all the months when it's possible, from the supermarket when not. Right now there is a shocking pink cyclamen AND some spicy white carnations too (on the window sill). The return on investment is for me simply immeasurable!!

Sounds great to me. It seems to touch on everything including a little fresh flower treat. I definitely can incorporate this. I am ready for the new year of and setting new goals. Thanks for sharing.

I like the flower idea. I've done that before in Jan/Feb, I think I might add that to my list too!

It looks like good moves to me, except maybe the salmon. I'm not fond of fish.

Buying fresh flowers is a bit of a problem around here, but it is something that I do once in a while.

I hope you are feeling better and that your weather is warmer than here. It got up to a whopping -10F here today -- that must be about -23C, eh? Tomorrow's supposed to be warmer and, of course, more snow. Yay! -- she says with sarcasm...

Do you get chinooks where you are? We seem to be on the edge of the chinook zone for this area -- we get about one out of three that they get closer to the mountains. The one the Great Falls area has had today is supposed to sort of reach us tomorrow. Not above freezing, though.

I'm glad I didn't have to go outside today.

Just looked at Weyburn's temps for today -- see that they got up to +2F. Wish we had done that... Maybe tomorrow.

Have a good year, I hope all your goals aren't too hard to achieve.
