Come on over for a cup of tea :)

Wednesday, November 03, 2010 of my November goals is to drink more tea. I tried that in September and didn't do so great so now I'm trying again..this time amped up.

First I'm making tea fun with my theme..HOSPITALI-TEA
Daily I'm making myself a tea party with a bright yellow little tea pot and a fancy cup and saucer. Tonight's tea is raspberry thriller :)

I'm also asking anyone interested in joining me to come on over for a cup of tea..what better way to show friendship and hospitality than with a chat over a cup of tea. We can share our favorite teas..spark ideas or just chit chat :)

I'm relaxing after a full day..helped neighbors with their calves..sorted and loaded and off to market, helped hubby haul bales and move our cattle. Also oil land man here for 2 hours signing up for the new oil well. Baked the leftover smarties into cookies and froze in little zip lock bags for hubby's snacks. Stuck a roast of beef in oven for supper and had a spinach salad with mine..saskatoon berries and yogurt for dessert.

As my team members of Australian Cattle Dog Lovers already know I have a blue heeler cross border collie cross Australian shepherd dog..she's 3 and her name is Piggy. She's a hyper 3 year old..thinking she'll never out grow puppiness. She loves to ride along so of course I had her along today hauling bales. Well we were behind some hills, hidden from the road and all this amped up water and tea was working it's magic so I figure I can just squat near the truck..nobody's around but hubby loading the bales with his tractor. Imagine my surprise when Piggy decided to come up around behind me and LICK MY BUTT!!! Talk about "cold nosed"!!!! Had hubby laughing his butt off..not the first time I've been the butt of a joke!!

Hope you all had a great day with chuckles, and good food and good friends and a cup of tea!

I rode 8 miles on my recumbent bike..I love it. I've started to ride and read so I've started a new book by Sandra Brown, one of my fav authors..the book is Tough Customer. It's my special me time. Yesterday I even read while listening to a Christmas CD. I did warn you I'm a crazy Christmas fanatic!

I love numbered top 10 or 5 favorite foods etc..soo when I'm off blog surfing I'm always drawn to ones that are lists. I'm bad with magazine articles (I've ripped out soo many) and tv shows..coming up ..Dr Oz's 6 top anti-aging secrets..and I'm running for pen and paper. I think I'm a "list addict" haha

Well, enough about's your day???

I should get back to my tea..and I'm watching a hockey game on tv. I'm up for more bale hauling tomorrow....keep on sparkin' and thanks for joining me for tea :)

I'm dropping in for tea days later. Knock, knock, are you home? Ah, there you are on your bike, pedaling away. I swear I don't know how you find the time to read and ride your bike with all the work you do, and as tho you don't get enough exercise hauling bales and running around with your arse-licking Piggy!! I drink lots more tea as the weather gets colder, so I'll be stopping by. Have a great two day road trip!

I have a friend here and we are meeting for tea so i will bring her and we will come and meet you for tea. We started up when I sent her some tea to stay warm and went from there. Its a great way to stay warm and something sooo soothing about it. I love the sound of your tea pot. It really appeals to me and sounds sooooo cute. I would love to see it.
Your puppy sounds so cute. I have a dog that loves to ride with my on the lawn mower. I have to keep her in the house as I am afriad she will get hurt or fall off some time. But one day she chased me down until I picked her up to ride with me. I never knew. She was a rescue so I guess she used to do it from her previous owner. But I felt it was not safe. My mower is not all that big and I can't hold her and drive too.
I am a list lover too. I am always making one for something or other. Have you read the list books. I love them. There are tons of them.

This evening's tea (herbal) is Yogi "Green Tea Super Antioxidant". It's one of those teas that has licorice root as one of the ingrediants and comes across with a very slight sweetness. Slight is fine.. I'm not one for sweets. If I've got a yen it is for salt and doc has me watching salt so, I'm getting use to the low salt life.

Yesterday I worked as an election judge (up at 5:30 a.m., at the polls by 6 a.m., ready and open polls at 7 a.m., run around like mad all day because there is a steady, heavy turnout for voters, close polls at 8 p.m., clean up and then finally home in an exhausted heap sometime after 9 p.m.)...long day, so today was mostly in the recovery mode.

Today I did get out for a walk with my sister & did 5 miles on the elliptical trainer while watching tv. Good to keep that exercise piece in place. Also took Dad (86) out Xmas shopping. He likes to get everyone (about 15 of us) the same thing and this year it's cashmere scarves. I got to help pick out which scarf was to be matched with which family member. Actually a lot of fun and now the job is done.

Hey -- thanks for the invite to drop by for a cup of tea. Love it. sfj

Had a cup of tea too and chatted with hubby! Decaf green tea is my favourite. Works with my goal of trying to reestabilsih my sleep patterns.

Too funny about the dog/butt! emoticon

volunteered at another flu clinic

Tuesday, November 02, 2010 cousin's wife the health nurse phoned last night to see if I'd "volunteer" to help her at the last flu clinic in town. It was a half day so I got stuff done at home too. Hubby came for a flu shot then we all went out for lunch, I picked up a few groceries. When we got home Hubby had a load of hay delivered from work to unload so I rode my exercise bike for 30 minutes and went 6 miles. Then we hauled some loads of bales, then I did night chores and made supper..we had grilled chicken breasts, carrots, brussel sprouts and I had spinach salad and hubby had potatoes.

I had lots of a cup and on spark with friends :)

November's goals are going fine..I like the new charting on the fridge to keep track of what I need to be doing!

I'm joining up to Team Sask's 5000 crunches challenge..just have to find out if that means a day, or a month , a year or maybe a lifetime??? It would amp up my fitness!!! whatever!!

Well tomorrow we need to help a neighbor at 7 a.m. to help him sort cows from calves and load calves onto the semi for market. Then it's back to hauling bales. In the afternoon we have a meeting at 4 p.m. to sign papers for the oil well to be drilled on our land.

Well, I'm off to read some more blogs, and articles and do some surfin'.....

Keep on Sparkin' see ya tomorrow !!!

5000 crunches? Sounds Huge!!! But I know they can add up quickly . . . 100 per day would equal 3000 for the month of November! That makes it easy to do 5000 before the end of the year. You could easily spread them throughout the day, 20 here, 20 there, and be completed in 5 sets. What about breaking them up into different kinds to . . . regular crunches, side crunches (each side) . . . 30 each way and you're left with 10 to do to reach 100 per day. . . . Just a thought . . . emoticon

Hey, goal keeper! I'm intrigued by #7 -- Do Flylady's Holiday Cruising Missions... tell us more!

Congrats on your Sparkversary and being almost half way to your goal FABULOUS! I'm a little jealous since I seem to average about 2 pounds a month... but I'm moving in the right direction, too. Glad the water goal works for you too. Of course it can be TEA as well as water, and I'm right there with you enjoying a pot, sweetie. emoticon

Hope you're all having a Spooktacular Halloween!!!!

Sunday, October 31, 2010

Hi..It's been a quiet Halloween trick or treaters..but we live quite far off the beaten path plus there's not many kids way out here!! I did pick up some little treat bars just in case, but hubby can finish them :) Save me having to make goodies for awhile.

When I re-read the title of last night blog it sounded like I brought the Johnny Cash impersonator home with me..haha..I guess I dangled my participle or something!

We had to treat 2 more calves this morning, then I helped with gates and twine when hubby fed calves and horses..then off to haul more bales..unfortunately it was too cold to start the tractor in the field!! We came back to the yard and did some more chores, I quadded the main herd. Then hubby hauled bales.

I finally painted my bathroom vanity!! I wanted it a dark, dark brown and it turned out perfect. I was doing some witches potion with it, stirring together 3 different paints , stains and glazes. Too much fun..after the vanity I did the window frame and door too. I have new shiny silver handles to replace the old ones. I'm getting my decorating inspiration from a shower curtain that has rocks on it :) I want to repaint the walls a deep grayish tan..don't have the paint yet, tho...I have quite a few painting projects planned..I always have more ideas than time!!! My kitchen is light blue with a pastel dragon fly border and the cupboards are white. I'm doing a drastic change with deep rust walls, still white cupboards, but with black counter tops and deep rust coffee cups stenciled on the doors. (I have light blue dragon flys now) I do have the white paint for a fresh coat on the cupboards, and black paint for the counter tops..still need to get the wall paint.

After hubby hauled his second last load of bales for the day, I went along so we could bring the tractor home..the snow is starting to go and making the fields really mucky..I got stuck climbing a steep hill with the truck and trailer and bales :( so hubby switched and backed the load down the hill and took a better run at a better place and I drove the tractor home!!! I hate backing up the goose neck trailer especially in the mud!!

I rode my new xbike lots's so nice compared to the old's quiet enough to watch tv, listen to music or talk on the phone..which I did. I phoned middle daughter in Medicine Hat to wish her a Happy Halloween!! She said she was dressed like a pirate to hand out candy and her dog, Max, a little black poodle cross was a bumble bee..but he didn't want to stand for pictures! haha! Just got answer machine at other daughter's place..must be still out with the kids!! Son and girl friend were having a house party tonight.

Hard to believe October is over, it just flew by..we were so busy. I am very happy with my "get healthy" progress. Thanks to all my spark friends and fellow sparkers for all the encouragement and wisdom and inspiration!! Thanks again!!..on to a new month..look out November:)

Night all..keep on Sparkin'

You and me both with all the painting project ideas! I've still got cleaning to do before I can start much painting, but I've prepped one very grungy old radiator in the front hall. Can't wait to post before and after photos on that one! I love the image of you making a witches brew of paints... and got just what you wanted with the eye of newt blend... guess we know why you didn't get many trick or treaters out there, haha!

I haven't been doing month goals, but might just start. Deadlines can be pretty motivating.

And oh yeah, If you can kidnap a Johnny Cash impersonator by dangling a participle, you're mighty good!!

Hi Home from working at a community supper with a Johnny Cash impersonator

Sunday, October 31, 2010

I worked for 4 hours at a community supper..and I 'm pooped!! Had a great time visiting with the other workers..lots of laughs!!!

Earlier today I rode the bike, went along to town with hubby, helped him fix the loader on a tractor, helped move the cows..mostly weaned, out to graze,,they were hard to move!!! Wanted back with their calves..the replacement heifers are still in the corrals (read..chores!) Then I helped to move hubby to field so he hauled bales while I worked in town.

Home for a quick, late supper 8pm of round steak in the crock pot with carrots and potatoes. Hubby was just in with his last load. Then a neighbor came up with some paper work for the pasture.

I was happy this morning when I weighed one pound less..whoo hoo!!!! 202.5.

I'm ready to start off November with some amped up sparking!!!

Are the rest of you working on new goals for November?

Better get ready for bed..Have a safe and Happy Halloween tomorrow :)

Keep on Sparkin'
