Recap of October's Goals!

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Hi..We got back from Weyburn tonight and hubby had to fix fence where the bulls broke out while I made supper. I made him fish 'n'chips while I had salmon, spinach salad with mushrooms and yellow peppers and a side of green beans..yogurt and an apple were dessert :)....This morning I rode my new bike some more..I did 4 miles in 15 minutes, then I did the other Spark exercises and off to help in the corrals to treat a sick calf. My new bike has so many features I'm not sure how to use them all yet!

I've been thinking of my November goals and think I will include tracking on a chart on the fridge certain things like miles/minutes on bike; vitamins/ water/ fruits and veggies etc.

Anyway..on with a quick recap of October......

1 Daily 3 things to be thankful for...I did try to be mindful of my many's been a
bountiful month :)

2 Daily share a laugh..boy did I do lots of laughing in October, lots of zany stuff happens, like
usual around here, but also found lots of laughs on sparks..and do you all have e-mail
friends who send you tons of jokes each day?? Laughing is like jogging on the inside :)

3 Daily spark every day :) only a few days over and a few days under
water..tracked every day..8 cups :)
exercise..tracked every day..even if it was just 15 mins :)
points..logged in every between 30-80 points a day :)
vitamins..took them daily :)
Blog..I think I missed a day, but happy with amount :)

4 Daily 30 day shred...had to quit to rest my bruised leg :(

5 Daily be active on a team...I've huddled and read messages and posted messages and
even joined more teams!! :)

6 Daily connect with spark friends with comments, chuckles, goodies etc :) yes and I just
sent all my spark friends a Halloween goodie :)

7 Daily have pumpkin seeds for a snack..yes..I measured out a tiny portion and put in snack
size zip lock bags :)

8 Do a fall clean project..well this wasn't daily but I did do a few :) have a few more pics to
post..I forgot how busy I get in October!!!

9 Daily do something nice for me..lots of magazines/bubble baths/times with friends/times
family and times with hubby...lots of "nice" things for me :)

10 Daily weigh..Here's the hard goal was to lose 10 pounds this month and I started
203.5.....some days I as that some days I was more some days I was less but here I am at
end of the month stuck back at 203.5..I'm not too disappointed because I have lost over 15
pounds since May. I just need to amp up a few things for November and try to stay home
more too!!! So I can watch my food is very hard to judge some meals away from
home!!! (I guess over the month I probably did lose 10 pounds, only I gained them back
too!! groan)

Well the best way to get healthy is in small steps and I do feel I'm really improving my health!!
This has turned out longer than I thought so I better get to bed..hubby's been sleeping on the couch for hours. We'll hopefully be back hauling bales tomorrow and I'm working at a community's my group catering ...tomorrow evening!!

Take care all and keep on Sparkin'

You're doing a great job with your goals -- and making fish and chips for DH while you eat healthfully requires iron self discipline!!

Thanks for the Hallowe'en goodie! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We still have snow here but it was actually sunny :)

Hubby put my recumbent bike together and I love it!! I have to take it easy for awhile since I rode for 20 minutes and my leg was sore again!! While hubby was in the house I said "I've gone 2 miles already" and he said "But you're still here" hhaha! Always the comedian!

I was out helping him with the last herd of community pasture cattle today. He asked me if I wanted to come along while he put them in with the truck and we'd be back for lunch in 10 minutes, so I did go along and not dressed for the weather! since I was just riding along in the truck..not!

The owner was there already, instead of waiting till after lunch like planned, so we were putting them into the corrals and sorting through the chute into pens and loading them into his trailer for the first load...all this through 2 foot deep snow banks and I was barefoot in runners, yoga pants and no mitts or hat :( I didn't appreciate trudging through the snow, swearing at the cattle. At least I had a winter coat on.

I worked a bit this afternoon on my Christmas planner...I am a crazy, Christmas person!!

I was better on track for healthy foods today..lots of fruits and veggies. I love spinach salads so I buy a huge bag of spinach and take big handfuls and put in zip lock baggies..then just grab one from the crisper to make a salad, top with some other veggies like mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes etc and a small drizzle of low cal dressing..yum!

We're back up to Weyburn tomorrow for a truck app't and bring up more paper work for hubby's job.

I still want to recap October's goals and have been giving some thought to November's goals.
Either later tonight or tomorrow!

I've been dropping by commenting here and there on friends pages and making new friends too so I'm behing with spark goodies to friends..better get crackin'

Have a great evening and keep on Sparkin'

got to love the bike! I ride almost every day. I can rack up the miles and get a good work out. I usually help the time pass by reading or working on memorizing Bible verses.

I love spinach too. I also buy the big bags, I never thought to break them down and have them ready to go for salads.
today, but no snow. You must have been freezing!!!

Have a super day . . . maybe I should go back and visit my goals and re work them. I have been trudging along, doing the right things (eating clean, exercising, and drinking water) but not getting anywhere. I've been tired a lot lately too. Maybe it's the weather! Cool temps. make me desire to be lazy! LOL!!!

Snow, blowing snow and snow banks!!!

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Yuck..we weren't ready for still may warm up and melt..we have lots and lots of bales to haul and lots of other farm work to do for fall.

We got home from Weyburn and the roads were terrible! Icy and snow banks too.

I got my new recumbent bike but it's still in the box in the porch..we're pooped from all this activity and miserable weather! It's now tomorrow's project.

Didn't do too much shopping today, found a few things at the Dollar store, picked up some groceries, went to Walmart for a few things and then picked up my bike from Canadian Tire. Hubby had to stop at the office, put the cheque in the Credit Union and pay some bills. We had dinner at Dairy Queen..a small burger, coffee, and a mini pumpkin pie Blizzard. Yum yum.

This cold weather makes me feel like hibernating! It's 8:30 and I'm in my pjs ready for bed...

I got some magazines for my I think I'll crawl into bed and read a bit..just have to do a bit of tracking, and have another glass of water.

Talk to you tomorrow and keep on Sparkin'....stay tuned for my bike update tomorrow.

I love curling up in pj's when this happens, I'm surprised they let school buses run on Tuesday, we had to stop all the kids and trudge them in through the snow from a block away. I had to park 2 blocks away and trudge in because there were so many cars just stuck right in the middle of the road, it was sillyness.

I think I'm feeling the same tiredness/happy to be home you are feeling after the snow/my busy weekend/last couple of days in Saskatoon. Today I am staying in, cleaning up and refocussing. My only outside the house goal is to go to aquasizes at 6:30 tonight.

So I hope you have a less intense day...tho I think October on the ranch probably doesn't make it easy!

Ahhh . . . you gotta love pjs and a warm comfy bed! I snuggled in early myself last night and read some from my book until the desire for sleep was greater than the desire to read! I don't envy the snow you are receiving . . . it must be beautiful though! We've had the "blow me away" winds and rain. Hope your day goes well today and that your bike leaves its box! Enjoy!

I have been watching the Weather Channel and following the ND and MN. talk. I have been wondering just how bad it is up your way. I am far enough south that we "JUST" had those terrible winds that threw branches against the house for more than 24 hrs. as well as sideways rain! Guess the snow will be here eventually but sure can wait. Hoping you get the rest of your farming done. I am a farm kid turned city slicker and remember those days. Take care and be safe. Enjoy your bike.

Keep warm and be safe on those SK roads! Seen in on the weather network today. It has been pretty windy yesterday & today too. I'm not ready for the brushing off of the car every morning grrrrrr. Oh well such as life. Hope the weather improves so that you can get the rest of the farm work done.
Gotta go watch the elections. Have a great night.

Hi..home from cattle sale at Assiniboia!!

Bad weather/good prices :)

Leg is feeling better..hope to be back shredding by November..when I amp up my exercise...I'm also picking up my recumbent bike tomorrow..can't wait..I should take before and after pics ( my old, old exercise bike was free from Sally Ann!!)

We have snow and blowing snow and the roads were really icy!! Glad hubby was driving!

Bad nutrition veggies unless you can count pickles, relish, onions and ketchup on a cheese burger? Tomorrow will be a better day...

We're happy with the calf prices..better than last to pay the loans, etc and make the $ last till next year!!

Tomorrow we're going to Weyburn to deposit cheque, etc. And do some shopping..I like to do a bit of early Christmas shopping to spread it out over a couple months..less than 2 months till Christmas (I'm a totally insane Christmas person!!!)

Ready to head off to bed as it was a long tiring day...had to treat a calf we kept back for a replacement early this morning, got Halloween cards and goodies ready to mail on our way to the Sale, spend all day at the I'm trying to catch up on Spark...

Hope to update October's goals and soon post November's goals..where has the year gone??

Keep on Sparkin' tomorrow :)

I guess you were selling at the sale and not buying since you are talking about a cheque. Do you think the snow will last? Maybe get an early spring out of it thought.

yikes! I'm not ready for snow yet! Just the thought of it makes me cold! Glad to hear the trip to the market went well, good prices! Now to budget for the rest of the year, until market time again?
I like the shred too, and I ride the exercise bike daily. I also like to run, but I don't every day, I try to mix it up. Hope the leg continues to heal!

You're a busy, busy lady. There's been snow in parts of New Mexico, but not here in Albuquerque. Wind was fierce yesterday.

Remember when ketchup was counted as a veggie for school lunches? So, why not pickles?

Hi just a quick update on my's feeling much better today after really hurting last night. I think it's healing..the bruise is moving and fading!!

Didn't snow yet but it's supposed to tonight and tomorrow and maybe Wednesday!!
I'm not ready for winter yet!!! But I did change sheets to my snuggly fleece ones today..tried to wait till November but the weather's pretty unpredictable here in Canada!!

Best head to bed as we're off to watch the cattle auction early tomorrow and will spend all day in Assiniboia. It's our main pay cheque for the year so hope the sale is a good one :)
