Hi..we woke up to freezing rain and everything was coated with ice!! grrr....but the good news is we had a new calf...it's been a couple days...AND..the sun came out and melted the ice and we dodged the bullet and barely had any more new snow!!
I helped with morning chores and checks and bottle fed a calf that's not doing well. Also helped hubby chase a pair up from the bottom corrals that needed to be treated.
My sister posted some pictures of her trip to Mexico, my other sister..the oldest one sent me the news of her newest grandchild born last night :)She has 7 kids and 13 grandkids!!
After lunch I went to town for mail...hubby was wanting his cheque from selling cattle...got it and some bills and lots of magazines and newspapers....after coffee and reading some mail..we went out to start night chores and check through the pairs. I also helped hubby fork some hay to the newest pairs and some straw to rebed the school buses we use for calf shelters...go yellow :)
Todays meals were..breakfast..a yellow banana, oatmeal with dates/lunch..tuna curry and rice...it's a recipe my late mom used to make all the time...I used to make it easy by using a can of cream of celery soup, can of tuna and curry powder...but since I have been using less and less canned soup I used her scratch recipe with some stir fried onions and celery..curry powder, can of tuna, water and some milk thickened with flour. Hubby is not a big fan of tuna or rice so he had some but also some left over beans/ supper was a made from scratch thin crust ham, mushroom and green pepper pizza with homemade cherry slushie floats...my healthy snack for today was one of my homemade granola bars.
Just 2 weeks left in the 5% challenge..tomorrow is weigh in, I don't think I will be anywhere near my goal of losing 5% in this challenge...I'll just keep positive and think of all the new healthy habits I am forming...it can't always be about the weight loss..it's about healthier and happier, too.
For today's lighten up theme I want to focus on spring cleaning and lightening up my house...I really need to declutter and spring is a great time to work on that!! I have done some planning..will do my 30 bags in 30 days again although March was not too successful..instead of 31 bags I threw out around 15 to 20..but its a good start!! I found on line that Peter Walsh (one of my favorite organizers..I just loved the show "Clean Sweep" ) Has a new book out called.....Lighten Up..I have quite a few of his other books and may order this one through the library...to lighten up my spending!! There are lots of articles in my most recent magazine about decluttering and spring cleaning...I really lack the skills to keep my home the way I would like it to be....as always..too many great ideas and no time to implement them..lol I know that I just have too much and would love for my house to magically lighten up!! What are some of your favorite housekeeping hints?
Thanks for dropping by and for all your comments.. Keep on Sparkin'
Wherever you go no matter the weather always bring your own sunshine.....

Today was bright and sunny but you will not believe the forecast..more snow for tomorrow and Friday..yikes..the winter that won't end!! I'll still keep with my sunny thoughts and gaze at something yellow in my house.
I collect happy faces so I have placed them here and there.. I bought some $ store silk yellow tulips, 2 happy face stress balls and a lemon candle :) In my living room I have some yellow accents already throw pillows, areas rug and bowls and flowers... in the bath room I have sorted out all my yellow bath and beauty products. So things look very sunny here...I have been working on my April art journal..in a yellow scribbler :)
Today was a lighter chore day...I had some time to do house stuff..baked beans in the crock pot, 2 batches of homemade pork sausages, a batch of cherry almond muffins, and 2 dozen hamburger patties to fill the freezer :) Also did some housework and laundry, helped with some chores...went to town with hubby for mail and water and stopped at friend's place for coffee and a much needed visit :)
Our meals were..breakfast..oatmeal and dates/ lunch.. burger and spinach salad/ supper... baked beans, cabbage, sausage patties and apple sauce for dessert. My healthy snack was a cherry almond muffin :)
I did the evening walk through the pairs at the bottom corrals and in the little pasture. Now I'm relaxing with with a beer and the hockey game..Edmonton vs Calgary..
I hope you are all having a sunny day..thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'
