I have been counting my blessings and knowing I will soon return to good health! At the end of November we got the news that one of the pasture manager's wives just found out she had stage 4 cancer..gave her 6 months..she was gone in 2 weeks! So sad and a real wake up call to count your blessings and hug your loved ones close and make every moment spark family has become very dear to ...have a blessed always..Donna

Love the way you get those goals down. All good ones too! Wow, the cancer is so scary & sad. Especially sad for the family during the holidays. I guess it's a lesson in all of us taking care of our health & living life to its fullest. Take care my friend. emoticon emoticon

I try to count each day with Jeff as a blessing even when he pushes all my buttons. I know that you will soon be as good as new. I will think of you more often during my times of prayer. I have been a little negligent about callin up particular names during those times and have done a collective prayer.
You are a blessed friend

You are so right to count your blessings -- life is fleeting so we much enjoy as many moments that we can grasp! Hope you feel better soon.

To everyone..have a blessed Christmas...

Monday, December 24, 2012

Hi..I have been away from blogging and mostly from Spark except for logging in and spinning the points, etc. I got sick around December 9th and ended up to the dr and have bronchitis that just doesn't want to leave :( I have drugs and a puffer and still feel quite sick if I do too much :(

So just wanted to catch up a bit..I'm waiting for my oldest daughter and her 2 little girls to come home for Christmas..still another hour or 2 before they arrive...all is I'm resting on the couch and wanted to finally get blogging.

I want to wish you all a very merry and blessed Christmas! Hope you are able to spend it with friends and family. We had an early Christmas with our son (he's going to his girlfriend's today) He was home for the weekend and we had the in-laws and neighbors here..very fun now I have one Christmas under my belt..literally..haha..groan...

Tomorrow the in-laws are coming out again and we'll do an identical meal..turkey, cabbage rolls, sweet potatoes, salads, veggies, lefsa, baking and candy cane ice cream..oh and the granddaughters and I are making brownie trees on a stick and a gingerbread house for each of them :)

I have cut down on some of the preps..mostly cleaning..haha..but the gifts are all wrapped and delivered, the inside and outside of the house decorated and the baking done...glad I started early so I didn't have much to do while I was really sick....I haven't received many cards even though I send out around 50..Maybe have only gotten about 20 so mail trip will be at the end of the week so maybe get more then?

I still want to do a quick Nov recap and my Dec goals..but will put that in another blog...

Thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna emoticon

My Christmas wish for you is you all find the love, peace, joy and blessings of Christmas in you heart this holiday hugs and prayers as always!!

I'm so sorry to hear that you were so very sick during Dec. I don't know how you still got through all the baking & all that you do. I wish I could have been a good SparkFriend during this time for you, however this was my worst time too.
So hope you have a wonderful time with your family for Xmas.

December is flying by....

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

Hi...can it really be Dec 5th already?

I'm late with November's recap and December 's goal but I'm just going to catch you up on December so far...

Saturday Dec, fun Christmas party with one of my best friends ..supper, drinks and shopping..yes fun fun fun :)

Sunday Dec 2 house clean and decorate the livingroom including the tree up!!

Monday Dec 3 marathon Christmas baking day....7 batches done :)

Tuesday Dec 4 off to Montana for cattle stuff for hubby but also did some shopping and out for supper and a sparkle tour....stocked up on some Christmas booze, too and didn't have to pay any duty...wonderful :)

Wednesday Dec 5..oh, that's today...the pharmacist at the drugstore where I used to work is really short staffed over the busy holidays so asked if I could fill in for a few days in December so I'll be working 2 days this week, 4 days next week and 2 days the week before Christmas....I went to town to talk to her and I also mailed all my Christmas cards :) Back to work tomorrow :)

Last week we were up to Weyburn so hubby could get new tires on one of the trucks so we went up on a really icy day..oh yeah..everyday is really icy..just wish it would quit raining and get cold like it's supposed to be here...the whole yard is a sheet of ice!! The roads are a bit clearer but towns are awful!....and hubby got out of the truck at Weyburn and fell :( then he went to get the tires and they ordered the wrong ones..he was in a grumpy mood after that!! I did do my once a month shopping, and we stopped at Sears and got a new TV (the old one had the top half of the picture gone) and a new stand too :) an early Christmas gift!

Well..stay tuned for that November recap and some December goals...I'll work at refreshing my Spark page first...then get the rest done...

Thanks for dropping by..keep on Sparkin'

    Hi Donna -

I hope you're enjoying your work at the drug store. My very first job, when I was in high school, was helping out at the local drug store, mostly stocking shelves, but sometimes helping people find things. I really liked it. It will be a nice break for you from all the work around home... as long as you don't have to do all of it after you get home from the drugstore!

We've done our outside decorating and are starting on the family room today. DH is supposed to be going to Toronto tomorrow to play at the Veterans' Wing of Sunnybrook Hospital but freezing rain is predicted, and if it's too bad I hope he will just stay home.

Take care, and enjoy the holidays.

Back to blogging...

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Hi..sorry I've been MIA..I've just been feeling lazy and not blogging...finally got back to a bit of fall cleaning today..did laundry and sorted the hot mess that is our home office needed some major sorting!! and threw lots the wood stove paper bax :)

Haven't gotten back at my cards yet either..just have a few addressed but everything is ready to address the rest..

I've been helping water the herd and put up the new Christmas lights I bought, they worked fine in the house and once up on the house only half worked..just like the ones they were hoo!! I give up..I took the ones from before and rolled them in a ball and stuck them in the hanging baskets by the door!!

I'm meeting 3 classmates tomorrow for lunch for our birthday get together..the woman who is having the December birthday is off to Austrailia this weekend for 2 or 3 months so we're having it early..always fun to get friend just got back from Iowa, spending US Thanksgiving with friends and the other friend has just returned from black friday shopping in North Dakota :) The stories should be fun..

I'm finding the last week of the 5% fall challenge very challenging..the extra points are for no junk's a tough one for me...the exercise one is fine but it's hard to go a whole week without junk beer, no cake, no ice cream.. etc.
Wish me far today is my first no junk food day to track!! Woohoo me!! Tomorrow's lunch and Wednesday is Weyburn so another lunch out..hope the rest of the week is sucessful..need to nudge the scale so I can finish strong!!

Better head off to bed..thanks for dropping by and for all your encouragments.. Keep on Sparkin'

Love Donna emoticon

Where has November gone?? Almost time for a goal recap and post December's goals..stay tuned....

Well, you have been very busy. Getting to spend time with your friends sounds like so much fun, especially with all the travel everyones doing for the holidays.
I'd have a hard time with giving up all junk food. Sometimes you just need it. Especially ICE CREAM!! emoticon I could never give it up completely. It's my favorite food in the whole world. Pizza, comes in a close second though. emoticon.
Oops, now I'm hungry, I better go find something healthy. emoticon

Working on my Christmas cards...

Friday, November 23, 2012

Hi..I spent most of today working on my Christmas cards..I printed out the letter and found out I needed a few more pictures so I used my new scanner/printer and made a few more copies. I sent out about 50 cards every year! and love to hear from friends and relatives!

I took a break from cards and helped hubby load up the water tank and haul water to the herd..there's no water where they are at right we'll be hauling water for the next few days.

When we were finished hubby went to town for mail and I went back to work on my cards...and when hubby came home I got my first Christmas card :) talk about Karma..woohoo!! The card is from our new friends who just moved to New Zealand! and she mailed her cards really early!

The cold weather is still here and now the wind has picked up..glad we don't have to go anywhere except the community well which is just a few miles from us. A whole weekend to stay home..maybe I'll get back to house cleaning....haha...

Well it's about bedtime so I should finish this up..thanks for dropping by and keep on Sparkin'
