Energy abounds

Monday, January 09, 2012

I walked early this morning and did a brisk 45 minutes. I've started laundry, picked up the house and done 20 minutes on the bike. After a short coffee break with the spark I am going to start a pasta sauce (guess what's for dinner tonight???) and then do another 20 minutes on the bike.

I had an e-mail from my DD asking if the DGD could stay with us for a few hours while she finished up some obligations and that just made my day. She'll be here about 4 and spaghetti is one of her favs so that was the clincher to make the sauce today.

I hope you all are having a great day, too!

Productive day planned

Saturday, January 07, 2012

Today I plan to get in a 60 minute walk, at least 30 minutes on the stationary bike and to finish getting the christmas things put away. In between that I need a run to Publix - we're out of bananas! And I want to put some fresh soup on to simmer. I've got some left over veggies that are just waiting to be made into something warm and delicious.

I slept until almost 8 this morning - that is really late for me but the busy day at the thrift shop yesterday wore almost all of us workers out. The good news is we had one of our best sal days ever!

Have a great weekend, my friends. emoticon emoticon

Beautiful day

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Still chilly this morning but we broke 60 degrees a few minutes ago and the sun is shining. It is not supposed to be so cold tonight so we can go back to enjoying our Florida winters.

I've had a minor cleaning frenzy this morning and got a bathroom and my office taken apart, cleaned and put back together. Everything is looking and smelling sooooooo clean!

Now it is exercise time.

I've been roasting the extra turkey we got for Christmas and just finished cutting it up and freezing it for other meals. We'll have sandwiches tonight for supper out of it, and there's 4 other meals now ready for us in the freezer. But the whole house smells like the turkey now. YUM! emoticon

Up too early today...

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

It is so rare that we actually use heat here in central Florida that I found it waking me up as it clicked off and on. Our winters do not usually include morning temps of 36 such as we had today. I think I will do my stationary bike first this morning and save the walk for a little later when it warms up just a bit!

I remember being in Jacksonville for business and running in 40 degree weather. Later, I noted many people had jackets on but it's a normal temperature for me up north!

I found myself listening to the heater also. And thinking about the electric meter clicking along!

It has been cooler here too...lows in the 60`s and highs in the lower 70's. I was in my pants and fleece sweatshirt all day today. When you are used to 90's and hot and humid...this is cold to us!!

I was cold this morning too. I wasn't sure how the water at the Y would be but it was nice and warm for our work out. Getting out of the water was another issue though! Br-rrrrr!

It was 36 in Titusville when we got up. It's now about 41 degrees. Thankfully we'll be back in the 70's in another couple of days. emoticon

I think it is waning...........

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

OK, I'm finally wearing out - sure would like one more day of this frenzy of cleaning and taking down Christmas but I don't think it is going to happen. My office, one bathroom and two more bedrooms still need to be seriously cleaned - maybe I'll get one of these moods one day next week.

For today I took a mid morning walk waiting for it to warm up and it was still cold and windy. I have a pot of split pea with ham soup bubbling away on the stove - most will go to my neighbor who watches our house when we are away. I finished cleaning the family room, did the kitchen and our bedroom and bath - enough already!

I have errands to run and will go do those so I will still be busy and productive. emoticon

Wow! You are impressive! Here I thought I was doing well by doing 120 minutes in the pool, a 30 minute walk and an 8 minute cardio video. You must be taking your vitamins!
