Rain dampens my plans...

Well, the early morning walk was out this morning due to torrential rain here in NE Polk County. We also had some thunder and I fear lightning may not have been far behind so no outside walk was going to happen.

We needed some things at Sam's so I put my sneakers on and walked the perimeter three times, then up and down every aisle, most twice - I got 45 minutes in that way and stayed dry. I have 10 more minutes to do on my bike and that should do me for today.

    Now that's creative walking -- weaving in and out of shopping carts and stray children at Sam's. I should be so motivated! I am honoroed to be your SP friend.

    Yea you!!! I did the same thing today at Kohl's. Then I felt guilty for spending so much time wondering around so I treated myself to a cute shirt that was on sale. I did around 60 minutes of walking and had fun looking around. A win/win!

    Good for you for getting in your exercise despite the wet weather. Wish you could join me at the Lakeland Family YMCA. There's lots of fun, healthy things to do there no matter what the weather is. -Marsha

Rainy and cloudy

Today is volunteer day so the exercise schedule has to fit around that time. I got in some stretching exercises and 25 minutes on the bike before I went. I did lots of bend and stretch while there stocking shelves and helping customers so that will qualify as miscellaneous exercise for today. I'll finish my bike ride and hope the thunder stops so I can get some walking in outside. If not, I'll have to go to Wal-Wart or Target and walk around the store for a while!

First walk for the day

I've completed my first walk of the day - a brisk 40 minutes at 7:30! Now I'm enjoying a cup of coffee and then will do 30 minutes on the bike. Strength training will come after that and then this afternoon will be a 20 minute walk and 15 minutes on the bike.
In between, I may try to squeeze in some yard work!

My mantra is to keep moving!

We're back in Florida - how come it is still so chilly here? I was so looking forward to being warm again!

Anyway, I MUST get back on track with exercise and no more eating out for a while. Both my husband and I feel we have not had sufficient exercise or fruits and veggies while traveling. We did better on the days/nights we were on our own but lost some control while staying with family/friends. Why do people love to feed company!

    Breaking bread is one way of sharing with another person. The person hosting the meal shows their appreciation for their guests by making a special meal. I think that's why people feed company so much. In some cultures it is also a way of expressing love and trust by letting guests into their family circle.

I'm glad that you are back! Hopefully you'll get back into your routine soon!
