This is an unusual Thanksgiving day for us. We had our Thanksgiving celebration last Sunday. We had a wonderful day with both our children and our granddaughter. We did this because our son teaches in a live-in school for challenged children/young adults and the school does not close on holidays and because our granddaughter will be with her father for the holiday.
My husband's aunt always reminded us that the date on the calendar does not make a holiday but the time together is what is important and we were fortunate to have had a wonderful day.
Today we will be having turkey soup for lunch and enjoying the parade and football games.
