This week I am going to focus on logging my activity. At least 30 minutes of something every day.... Even if it is vacuuming. I have to regroup. I also will commit to not having any alcohol during the week! Starting with a few small goals ......

    i have to track my food better. i miss a few items do i will think iam in my goal and i am above it so i give myself a "treat"

    You are right: a long journey starts with a single step... or something like that! small goals are stepping stones to meeting our destination. focus on one or two until you have that added into your routine, and then add more as you can.

ONE YEAR!!

Well, yesterday was my 49th Birthday ..... the big one .... 49.99 ..... 49 and holding!!! NOPE - for me it means I have one year to get serious about loosing this weight if I'm going to be fit at 50!!! I haven't been under 200 pounds in over a decade!!! WOW!!! I want to have my own "before and after" shots!! So there it is .............. on paper (well sort of) ... never the less, I'm doing it!!!

    Happy Birthday! I turn 49 in two months and I have the same goal - to be a fit by the time I turn 5-0. I had the same goal for turning forty, but this time I will do it! No more excuses. :-)

    Turning 50 isn't so bad. I did it a couple of years back. I lost about 40 pounds just before turning 40, and vowed to keep it off forever. Then spent the next 8 years putting it and more back on (diet and medical issues). At my highest iwas 220, but am now in the 180's. I feel and look better and will continue to lose, because of a lifestyle change and not a "diet". Congrats to you, and good luck on your journey.

I've got to start moving!!

The heavier I get the harder it is to move around .... if I don't start doing some sort of exercise I'm never going to be able to .... I'm noticing now that as I walk short distances my lower back hurts - I'm not good with PAIN so I MUST start somewhere. Any suggestions besides walking???
I've got to get serious about my health once and for all .................

    Hi! I too get a severe back ache when I am up and walking around after a short amount of time,it comes and goes.Sometimes it hurts bad enough,I just have to sit down and put gentle pressure on it. It goes away until the next time I get up and do the basic same thing.I think I read on SP health article that it means you need to strengthen your abdominal muscles! Why am I up 3.5 pounds??? Could it be the chinese food I ate last night - although my husband and I just split a meal ..... didn't FEEL like I went overboard!!! OR ... could it be that it's about that time of the month (sorry guys) ........... or maybe a combo of both!! WHATEVER it is has me pissed off this morning .... but I'm going to stay on track!!! emoticon

    i WOULD THINK IT COULD BE THE CHINESE (HIGH SODIUM) AND THE TIME OF THE MONTH BLOAT?? ALSO, MAYBE IF YOU DRANK MORE WATER TO OFF SET THE CHINESE FOOD IT IS LIQUID WEIGHT!

    Go for it girl!!! This morning I feel fat because of everything I ate yesterday, dumb dip me!!! Back on track today and try to behave myself!!! Kind of hard to do on a Sunday for me though.
