My poor body does not know what has happened. I am loving the heat. That is unheard of around here. I have had severe allgies for the last couple of years, could not stand the heat, I would itch, if the sun touched me it felt like I was on fire and would turn bright red, If my legs or feet touched grass I would itch like crazy and break out in hives. I could go on and on.
I worked outside for 4 hours this day, preparing another bed for planting butternut squash. I hope it is not too late to be planting them. The grandkids had planted the seeds last week and most of them have come up. The kids were so excited. I'll transplant them next week, they should be strong enough, I think. I'm not really a great gardener but I love trying and do have pretty good luck. If I can stay this active and happy I should have a great year far as weight loss is concerned. I am too busy to worry about overeating. And I could not do what all I'm doing if I was eating junk. I'm running off beans, vegetables, tuna, chicken, peanut butter. Almond milk, etc. Its all healthy and it does do a body good. I froze my almond milk for tonight and I hope it is like ice cream. I sure like reading all the great things folks are doing on Spark. It seems like most everyone is having a great year.

Another good day. I did my weight lifting. I have tracked my calories and did some Sparking.
I am trying to take one day at a time, not to worry about what the rest of the year will bring.
I can't do anything about yesterday or tomorrow but I can live today to its fullest.
I thought about maybe joining OA again but I have to drive 45 minutes one way and I hate driving in city traffic. Spark really has everything I could possiblity need. And anytime I need to talk just pick out a friend and let it all out and I don't have to worry about crazed drivers.

I was able to do some weight lifting today, yeah! It always makes me feel so good.
I had some salsa with raw squash, out of the garden, It was wonderful. I think sometimes just being able to chew on something like that keeps me satisfied. Well now is the time to take advantage of lots of raw fresh vegetables. I find I like a lot of vegetables raw. I don't care for some vegetables cooked but raw is fine. I was reading on Dr. Oz. the benefits of tomato paste and I think I will start eating two tablespoons a day and see if I get younger looking, great skin and all the other stuff it is suppose to do. It sure won't hurt.
I like Dr. Oz, he is real interesting and likable. I hope he does not do like some of the rest do and let the fame go to his head and change him.

Oh, my grandson age eight has learned how to swim. His dad taught him. HIs dad said he dove to the deep end of the pool and picked a penny off the bottom. Now he is going to work on teaching his four year old how to swim. I am so proud of my son, single dad that he is, really going all out for his kids. He has a girl friend but the kids are with them most of the time. You just don't see many young dads taking up that kind of time with their kids. He takes his responsibility very serious. His son is autistic, slightly, but does great. As you can tell nana and mother is proud.

This has been a great day. Nothing major, just relaxing. We went for a short ride, took our lunch with us. It was so tempting to stop somewhere and eat. I was also wanting sweets.
I did not cave. I had bought us an Atkins brownie bar and we ate that. I had cooked some dried white lima beans before we left and when we got home we had lima beans, rice, chicken sausage and corn on the cob. I was still wanting sweets so I got one teaspoon of honey and I calmed down. I also went to the garden and picked a patty pan squash and we ate it raw with dinner. It does not have much taste but yet my mind said, fresh, isn't that wild it just tasted fresh and we enjoyed it. I think I will make us some kind of dip for the raw vegetables. Maybe greek yogurt, little buttermilk, little mayo, garlic. I'll enter it in the calorie counter and see if its okay. My knees and hips have been giving me fits and I have not been exercising like I should, walk, maybe 30 minutes a day. I think tomorrow I will start weight lifting again. If it hurts too bad right now to walk on the treadmill, and ride my bike maybe the weight lifting will take up the slack.
I so want to lose about 70 pounds by the first of the year. I must keep my head on straight.

I had a great morning. We worked in the garden, pulling weeds, admiring the baby watermelons, squash, tomatoes. I had to keep an eye on the grandkids, at four and eight they do not watch where they are going and will walk all over stuff. They were so excited about see the baby vegetables and fruit. I let them plant some butternut squash seeds and we will see if they come up. I just took the seeds out of the squash I had bought at the grocery store, let them dry and we planted them today. I don't know if they will come up or not. They still wanted stuff to do so we washed dishes and mopped the floor. They are still saying what else can we do. I am taking a break and told them to run around the house a few times. Wow, if we could bottle that energy wouldn't that be something. I have to try and keep them busy until 5:00. Oh I'm tired already.
We fixed tents in their room yesterday so maybe they will play in there for a few minutes.
I have a time fixing them something healthy to eat. I hope maybe they will want to taste the vegetables and fruit we are growing and they help tend to. I picked a white, round, lacy squash yesterday and baked it for supper. It cut like butter. When it is fresh it really makes a difference. I don't know what kind of squash it is, we lost the tag, but it was sure good.
I better go get something laid out for lunch.
