uh oh

Monday, May 03, 2010

We went today to my granddaughters kindergarten today and watched her perform what she had learned in gymnastics this year. They put on a great program and the kids did great.
They said my granddaughter had a natural talent for gymnastics. They said we should follow up on it.
I had to go to the dermatologist after the program. I had three places looked at and two were alright. He took a biopsy of one. I'll know the out come in a couple of days.
I messed up for dinner, we went to Kentucky Fried Chicken and I did not eat healthy.
I will do better tomorrow.
I hope everyone had a great day and ate better than I did.

I'll bet it was great to watch your granddaughters program. It's such fun to watch them at that age.

Good luck on the biopsy!!!

Doing better tomorrow on eating sounds like a plan. I wouldn't worry about the KFC today though. You have to allow yourself to occasionally have things you enjoy and would miss. As long as you get back to the healthy ways, it's great! I allowed myself a treat tonight of coconut cream pie and I know that tomorrow will not include such a treat.

Keep up the good work!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day. The sun came out here and we were thrilled. We ran jumped in the car and took a ride. It felt so good to be out of the house.
Hope everyone has a great week and Sparks real good.

I'm glad you're having such a nice day! I'm on vacation at my sister's and having a good time. I'm managing to get in a fair amount of sparking, though not as much as usual.

working in the yard

Saturday, April 17, 2010

We worked in the yard all day today. We planted squash, tomatoes, sugar baby watermelons, peppers, cantaloupe. We may plant some more stuff later. We worked on getting our stream cleaned out and working right. It was a good day.

Spring Fever?

Friday, April 09, 2010

Spring fever a term describing common psychological symptoms occurring in the spring season. In general it refers to an increase in energy, vitality and particularly sexual appetite. Sometimes it is the oppositive an unexpected loss of energy with the onset of spring.
In the northern hemisphere the symptoms usually arise from mid-march to mid-april, and depending on the person may be more or less pronounced, weariness (despite an adequate amount of sleep) sensitivity to changes in the weather, dizziness, irritability, headaches and aching joints and a lack of drive are the most common. Hormone balance may play a role.
You can look up the rest of it on Wikipedio
I have seen a lot of people on Spark that are showing these signs and don't know what it is.
I thought it would be interesting to look it up and see what the experts say. I think we are all having some of the symptoms.

Butternut Squash

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

I have been craving butternut squash for about two weeks. Isn't that strange? I'm glad its not fattening. I thin slice them, coat them in olive oil, season with salt, cayenne pepper, garlic, Mrs. Dash spices, bake them about 20 minutes at 400 degrees. They are wonderful.
I looked them up and they are full of vitamin A. I must need the vitamins.
I finally got through with my walking and bicycling. I am tired. I do not think I will do my weight lifting tonight. I do so much better if I do my exercising in the morning. We had to help our son by taking our granddaughter to kindergarten. It's a hour round trip. That takes up your morning. But its okay, we have to help our kids when they need us.
I hope everyone has a peaceful night.

Sounds delicious. I've been roasting different vegetables quite abit and love them! A while back I got a counter top Breville Smart Oven (it's like a toaster oven on steroids) and I plan to continue roasting with it even in the heat of summer since it doesn't heat up the kitchen like my big oven does. Thanks for the idea!

Roasted veggies are my favorite. I LOVE butternut squash. Roasted big .. roasted more like strips .. as a soup ...

In fact I HAVE part of one in the fridge .. and now I'm going to have as part of dinner :)

I like butternut too. I started to buy one of those green ones that are shaped like a small pumpkin but didn't know how to cook it.
