I was looking through some old books I have and they were saying about how so many foods heal. It made me remember years ago my husband had gone out of town on business and when he got back we were going to the coast for the weekend. I talked to him and he was getting ready to eat lunch and would then be on to pick me up. He was up and looking forward to the weekend. It was about a four hour drive and when we got there he could hardly get out of the car. His joints were locking up on him and he was hurting real bad. We thought he was coming down with the flu. He was a young man, vibrant, strong and he was acting like he was twenty years older than he was. He said he could feel it moving in his body while we were traveling. He said he just didn't feel right. When we got back home he went to the doctor. They thought he might have arthritis. They gave him a bunch of pills.
Nothing was working, he hurt all the time. He went to several doctors and they tried different medicines. He got in the bed and he said if i have e to live with this kind of pain I do not want to live. It scared me to death. He is a man that loves life. We were doing some tall praying for the Lord to show us what to do. My boss at that time asked me had I every thought that it could be some kind of food illness that he might have got a hold of something that poisoned his system. I started researching all kinds of food and the healing properties of them. I cleaned his diet up, no processed foods, everything had to be as pure as I could get it. We tried all kinds of remedies that was recommended for cleansing the body, mostly just pure good food. In a few months he started to feel better. This had been going on for a year.
He is doing wonderful now. He still has a little weakness in his shoulder joints but not like it was. He takes no medicines, me either. I do not know why we don't eat the food that is upon this earth that was put here for us. Why do we put the processed foods in a body that does not know what to do with it. You really should research the healing properties of food and try to add what you need. I am. I had forgot that the right foods really saved my husbands life. And I know they will save my life also by getting healthy and not burdening my body with so much weight.

five more pounds gone

Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day. I have. I have lost five more pounds this morning, that makes 35. It is such a relief to see the scales move. I know I should not get so stressed about it but I really want to get some weight off to help my body. I was able to also add my bike exercise today. I do my weight lifting five days a week and I either do the treadmill or the bike but I was able to do all three today. I take it I'm getting stronger and 35 pounds gone helped a lot. I am really enjoying no processed foods. Its funny I had a bigggg salad for lunch yesterday and I was still full at dinner and I could not eat it. I finally had some cottage cheese and fruit and a pack of pistachios. I remember you do not have that terrible hunger when you are filling up on vegetables, grains, fruits, you are satisfied. emoticon

It's been a great day. I have spent a lot of time in the kitchen. A neighbor brought me some cabbage, rutabagas, kale and onions that he had grown. I had to wash everything and you know what we are having for dinner. I added some corn, cottage cheese and fruit. That should take care of us. We had a huge salad for lunch. We sit and chewed for awhile. But when you are full of all that good nutrients you do not want any junk or processed food.
I should have took a picture of that salad. Listen: 3 cups of mixed lettuce, 4 radishes, 1/2 zucchini, 8 small pickled mushrooms, 1/2 portabella mushroom, 1/2 bell pepper, 2 0z. snow peas, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes, 1/4 cup greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of bacon bits, 1 pack of Guamole, chopped onions, 5 sprays of balsamic vinegar. You talk about a salad, yummy. My husband added turkey to his and had some nuts too. I had whole bread and peanut butter for breakfast. I hardly know how to ate not eating processed foods. I'll settle down soon and stop talking about all the foods we are eating. I just can't get over me slipping back to eating all this processed food when I know better. Oh well, live and learn.
