Every action you take is a seed you sow, and every seed you sow is a harvest you'll reap.
Have you ever had a thought like this: "Nobody would ever notice"? Or this: "It's just a little thing"? But to God every action-big or small-is important, because every action you take is a seed you sow.
For example, say that you tell your boss you worked eight hours when really you only worked six. But on the other hand, it's only two hours, and "nobody will ever notice." However, you're sowing seeds of dishonesty in your life that will reap a harvest of the very same thinig.
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." Galatians 6:7-8 Don't think that you can lie to someone i.e. sow a seed of dishonesty, but yet expect to reap a harvest of truth in your life.
Proverbs22:8 warns that He who sows wickedness reaps trouble.
Therefore, be very careful about how you act in every area of life, because every action you take is a seed you sow, and every seed you sow is a harvest you'll reap.
You'll never change your life until you change your choices. If you want something in your life to change, then you'll have to change your choices and actions. That is because doing the same thing will never get you different results.
In other words, what you do--the choices you make, the way you treat people, the attitudes you have--all impact your life. If, by your actions, you're sowing bad seeds, then you'll reap a harvest of those things. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says, Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Therefore, if you want to reap abundant harvests in your life, start sowing abundant seed. That may require changing your choices; but until you change your choices, you'll never change your life.
Just some food for thought from 'Wisdom for the Week'.

We don't have to be perfect to be beautiful. God made each one of us special.

Luke 11:24-26 "When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil that itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first."
When I first lost weight, I almost completely stopped eating and exercised like crazy...trying to burn up calories and not replacing them with healthy food. I ate only nutrition bars and processed "diet' food and drank diet soda or coffee. Sure, I lost the weight but I felt miserable and 'weak', my mind was not clear...I went about in a haze. The weight started to creep back on, and it kept on coming. Soon, I was overeating every chance I could get and stopped exercising. All my weight came back and then some. I was worse off than before and didn't know where to turn next. Food was my god and my belly cried for satisfaction.
Then I found Spark People and learned that this is NOT a diet, this is a lifestyle change and I was to replace old, sickly habits with new, healthy habits. All things in moderation, don't deprive yourself but don't go overboard too often either. Daily exercise of some variety or another replaced complacency and laziness. Fresh veggies and fruit replaced diet bars and diet shake meal replacements. I was losing again but in a new, exciting and healthy way.
I'm almost to goal and for some reason, these last 10 or 15 pounds are the hardest but I'm not giving up. I know that I can feast on the Word of God each day to fill that hole that I was trying to fill with food. I can ask and pray for help to control my portion sizes and my intake levels. God has been faithful and good to me. He has given me a Spark community that will come along side of me to encourage me and strengthen my resolve.
With God's help, the evil spirits have been kicked out and I've put on the new 'woman' that trusts and relies on God for satisfaction and fulfillment. I just had to take the time this morning to tell my story because I came across this Scripture and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I saw myself in this passage and wanted to share and encourage as I have been encouraged.
To anyone who wants to give up, try filling up on prayer and the Word of God. That void you feel can disappear and can be filled to overflowing with love, compassion and trust in a Savior that only wants the best for you. He will help you be an overcomer and you will have victory over your out-of-control desires for food.
Put off the old self and put on the new person that can be made manifest through a faith in Christ Jesus. The Bible says it better than I can.
Ephesians 4:21-24 "If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth."
He can do it. You can do it. Trust in Him and you will find peace and life everlasting.

Zechariah 4:6b, "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord Almighty."
My nutrition and my exercise have been going really well this week and it's because I have turned it all over to the Lord. On my own, I have no power, no strength to resist food's allure. It's not like quitting drinking. With that, you just don't touch it again. With food, you must practice moderation and sensible eating. You can't quit eating!!
I want to glorify my Lord in all I do, with my mind, body, soul and spirit. He has heard my prayer and helped me through this week.
All the glory goes to Him. He is my Strength and my Shield in times of temptation.
Praise His Name for His faithfulness to me.
