It was a very long work day of 7500 steps. I didn't make it to the gym and I'm exhausted. I will do a real blog tomorrow... Night night!

Ugh I had a day like that too for work recently, out and about 13 hours and came back with 4600 steps. Ready to collapse on the couch.

Stomach bug

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

I've been sick since the gym yesterday. Throwing up is the worst. Had to work today, even though I was sick. Needless to say I'm way under my calories and didn't get to the gym today. Hoping to feel much better tomorrow!

Don't try to work out when you are sick...at least that sick. Every ounce of energy that your body uses to repair from your workout takes away from your healing. Take it easy and rest up.

Giving into cravings....

Sunday, March 09, 2014

So I got to work only to find something was wrong with my PC. I had a lot of things to do and a lot of meetings set up with agents and everything I needed was on my PC. Needless to say our IR department is not in on Sundays- so I had to cancel just about everything... which means it's going to be a very long and hectic week at work...

Perhaps this is what set me off for giving into my cravings... before I knew it, I was pulling into the parking lot of my favorite mexican restaurant for take out. I've not ate out in so long. I don't know why I gave into temptation. While I'm still within my calorie range, I feel like total crap. I didn't "log it" before I ate it... first day of my new goal and I totally don't follow it. I'm in a funk and need to get out of it quickly.

The positive side of the day, I left work early and the weather was fabulous! I ended up taking the kids to the park. They had a wonderful time. I walked while they played, so I got all my steps in for the day.... And thanks to all that salt in the mexican food, I'm sooo thirsty and have been chugging water all night.

Another day... tomorrow we try this again...

What's important is that you turned your day around. I heard a new variation of an old saying. 1 Step back, 2 steps forward.

Backward steps are inevitable, but overall you are making forward progress.

If you were still within your calorie range, you shouldn't be beating yourself up about it. Sometimes we have to give in to cravings before we crave too much and go on a wild binge! You got a nice walk in and are drinking your water, so you are on the right track.

Today is a new day. At least you walked and then drank all the water. Stress is such a crazy thing and does wacky things to us. We're here for you! emoticon You WILL get there! emoticon

Ugh, it's just never worth it is it? Why can't we REMEMBER that??? I'm dealing with that a ton being at my parents house in Wisconsin. Every day is a journey. Keep on keeping on, focus on the positive! It could ALWAYS be worse I guess!

I feel you sista! :) I had a rough time last week staying on target. Just remember that it's just one meal and one moment. You are still motivated to lose weight and you will succeed! You can do it! emoticon

    Trying to give it words.
You had a frustrating day at work that went unresolved and would set you up,for a difficult challenging week. That would make me angry, frustrated and make me feel sorry for myself for the upcoming week.
An emotional blow can still trigger old patterns of behavior. You ate Mexican food because you felt.....???? Try to reframe the inner message in your head to the positive. It's been a long time since you ate because of your feelings. You recognized your bodies negative reaction to overeating or eating less healthy food. Because you ate a less healthy meal, you felt less healthy and less energetic. You are making progress on this journey by recognizing all these things.
You didn't resort to negative self talk of "what's the use or all's lost so I might as well."
You were mindful of what you ate and aware of its effect. You assessed what happened and are trying to figure out why and what feelings were the trigger. You are planning a course in your journey to return to the healthy journey within 24 hours.
That's awesome progress. Be proud of how you've changed and learned.

I have always said that it's not the mistake that you made, it's how you fix it and you fixed it by taking the kids to the park and getting your walk in. The fact that you had a bad day and turned it around making it into a plus is FANTASTIC!!!! Jump back on the wagon tomorrow and you will do great! emoticon

Think before you eat...

Sunday, March 09, 2014

I thought a lot about yesterday's binge today. I'm not trying to dwell, I'm trying to learn and understand. It took another 14000 steps... But I think I got it..... I really don't think before I eat- I think after I've ate or if I'm lucky, after a couple bites in. I need to stop and think before I eat. The only way I can ensure that happens is by logging it before I eat it. So that's my personal goal for the rest of March... Log it BEFORE I eat it.

I had a good day. Took the kids to see my Mom. They love playing in her backyard. It was great to see her and catch up. Now time for bed... Nighty night.

When I feel off track, I try to log everything I am going to eat beforehand. Sometimes I will think twice before eating something if I have to go back on the computer and log it in. I do try to stick to the motto "If you eat it you have to own it" (on the tracker).

Friday.... Ugh....

Friday, March 07, 2014

Not a great day for eating. I had 4 slices of pizza and a Reese's peanut butter egg, 3 cups of coffee with creamer and some dessert pizza. Can you say binge? Yeah- crap day.

So out of guilt or disgust or whatever, I walked and walked and walked. I really thought about why I ate all that. Self sabotage? Deprivation? Boredom? I really don't know. I wish I knew the answer. I feel like crap. I have a stomach ache and a head ache. I don't know how people eat like that every day.

17,400 steps of soul searching. Guess that's my positive for the day. The most steps I've had in a single day. Sad it wasn't for the right reasons. Tomorrow is a new day... looking forward to it!

You are still hand over fist ahead of where you were when you started. This journey isn't easy. The fact that you can announce to everyone here that you had a bad day and the things that you did wrong says that you are still on track. Congratulations on being honest with yourself. :) emoticon

Girly you did awesome! Everyday is not gonna be a win but at least u walking your buns off to make up for it! Eating healthy and then slipping up and feeling like garbage really puts things in perspective for former life doesn't it.
