I used to say all the right things, but my thoughts were all wrong. Living with negativity can destroy you. Seek positives. Celebrate accomplishments. Love yourself. Make every day count.

I am a member of a fabulous book club that meets every 5 weeks to laugh, talk, drink wine and just enjoy girl time. I look forward to it! Tonight will be fun as always. I've nearly drank all my water for the day and had a light breakfast and lunch. While I won't count as I eat tonight, I know I'm going into it with 1200 calories left for the day. I made sure to hit the gym early this morning and I'm at 9120 steps- so nearly there!! It's been a good day and it will be a fun night!!! No counting for this girl.... It's once every five weeks and I am looking forward to a great time! We read "The Rosie Project"- which is a good read btw!

Whatever your situation may be... try to make the best of it. While you cannot control what may happen, you can certainly control how you react. My mantra this year is positivity. While I'm not going to sit here and say my life is perfect, everything is rosey... cause it's simply not true... I will however, choose to see the positives in every day!
Last night, we were freezing! The power was out from 5:30pm to 1:00am... and this had to happen on the same day that we had a crazy snow storm. So we had a family bed with lots of blankets. Like all nights, I wore my fitbit to track my sleep. I woke up 15 times, a total of 29 minutes. I was restless 20 times, a total of 45 minutes awake. It was not a good nights rest for sure. But the kids were warm and they slept good. So, when the power did kick on and it finally warmed up (about 2:30 or so) hubby moved kids to their bed and then I finally slept. Needless to say, I did not wake up as planned to go to the gym. So, I ended up getting there way later than planned and had to get ready at the gym, then go strait to work.
Not the perfect day at all.... BUT, I did get to the gym! I did eat really healthy today, staying under my calorie goal. I've got 11, 409 steps so far and because I'm closing at work, I'll have more as I need to walk the building and close up. Today was a success overall, because I'm choosing to make it one!
Keep your head up people! Focus on the positive! It will motivate you to achieve your goals!

Yep... When I got off work , I headed to the gym. Got changed, went to put on my shoes and.... Duh duh duhn... No socks! And it had to happen on a day that I wore shoes to work that I don't wear with socks. So, I went to the counter to see if they sold socks. The gym sells lots of stuff- shin guards, cups, locks, shirts.... No socks!! What was I to do? I didn't have enough time to drive to the store and drive back to the gym... So.... Ew... Ew... Ew.... No sock workout. I didn't realize how sweaty my feet get, how much by feet move in my shoes or how overall important socks are! My feet hate me for the torture and I no doubt need to find a way to wash my shoes. So... Glad I still got my burn... But don't know if I'd do it without socks again!
Got home to zero electricity. This blog is brought to courtesy of iPhone, which luckily I charged fully at work before I left to the gym. I still need to drink the rest of my water and didn't get my full steps due to the sock incident- but I'm close at 9,439 steps- maybe I'll walk around the apartment and get the rest of them in before bed. I didn't have the best dinner , leftover pizza from Costco- at least it was veggie and didn't put me over calories!
It's very quiet. No electronic devices to distract... Kids are forced to actually play with each other and toys, for at least another 2hrs according to the power company. I'm sure the fighting will begin soon enough!

I had a major craving today for macaroni and cheese. I've not had it in months. After I finished at the gym, I had 1,000 calories left. I decided to give myself this one enjoyment. But, instead of making processed crap from a blue box- I opted to make it from scratch. Whole wheat macaroni elbows, milk, butter and cheese. Still a lot of calories- 700- but I feel better knowing it was made with organic hormone free ingredients. Man was I stuffed after only eating a little over one cup. Guess that's what happens when you don't eat pasta for a while.... I love that I'm satisfied with less now! Anyway- success for me- I was able to satisfy my craving and stay under my calories for the day!
I did much better with my water intake today! Got over 11,000 steps. It was a great day!
