Sleep... It's important

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

So I couldn't help but notice, I was kinda cranky today. After only 4 hrs of sleep, I'm sure that's why. I made it to the gym and while on my machine going to it- I could hear a woman talking on her cell phone LOUDLY. So I ignore it, figure, she'll wrap it up soon... She's at the gym after all.... NOPE. I was on that machine for 37 minutes and she yacked the whole time. I had ear buds in- pretty loud and could still hear her. :/

Sleep... It. Is. Important. On a normal day, I would have blocked her out and just focused on me... No sleep + loud lady = me cranky!

Positive notes- almost done with all my water- got just about 11000 steps in. Going to bed early! Nighty night!

I totally get this!!! I was in a swim class the other day and this lady kept getting in my swim space! She wasn't even paying one bit of attention! Normally, I would have just moved away and kept doing my thing, but I got stubborn and just wouldn't move! It was infuriating to me! But, I didn't sleep at all the night before because my baby kept me up most of the night. I think you are sooo right about this. Sleep is vital to every part of our day! Thanks for sharing!

Cell phones are so inappropriately used. I have issues when people are on them at the grocery store too. Simply rude!

Hang in there and get some sleep.

February is flying...

Monday, February 24, 2014

I can not believe that we are already in the last week of February! My weigh in is on the 1st... just 5 days away. I'm hoping the scale says 264- as it would be achieving my set goal of 1 pound loss per week. But regardless of what the scale says, I know I've made progress. My pants are starting to feel a little baggy. I've come to the conclusion that I will always lose my boobs first, then my butt will start to flatten out a bit, then my legs start to slim... my stomach will take forever and my arms will take forever... but that's okay. Progress is progress. Having done this before (pre-pregnancy) I know that slow and steady is the way to do this. I know my results will not be the exact same this time around as the last time around, as you can't make baby belly skin completely go away. Regardless, I'm glad that I have energy. I'm glad not to be so winded by going up a flight of stairs. I look forward to working out... something I didn't think I'd enjoy again.... so CHEERS to February! It's been a great month thus far and I plan to end it the same!

P.S. Totally kicked butt in steps today! I'm over 13000! emoticon

Haaa! I said the exact thing to my husband on Sunday! He asked if I noticed it (the weight loss) anywhere. I said "Yeah....my boobs!" He agreed. LOL I'm really okay with that. Never understood the gals who want them to be Double D's anyway. The less the better for me!!!!!!!!!! Congrats and I'm rooting for you and your loss! I didn't realize that you and I were about the same size. emoticon

I can't.

Monday, February 24, 2014

I used to say all the right things, but my thoughts were all wrong. Living with negativity can destroy you. Seek positives. Celebrate accomplishments. Love yourself. Make every day count.

Some days it's easy to get lost in the negativity. It's a lot harder to pick yourself up and see the positivity. But every day does count. emoticon

Book Club Tonight!

Saturday, February 22, 2014

I am a member of a fabulous book club that meets every 5 weeks to laugh, talk, drink wine and just enjoy girl time. I look forward to it! Tonight will be fun as always. I've nearly drank all my water for the day and had a light breakfast and lunch. While I won't count as I eat tonight, I know I'm going into it with 1200 calories left for the day. I made sure to hit the gym early this morning and I'm at 9120 steps- so nearly there!! It's been a good day and it will be a fun night!!! No counting for this girl.... It's once every five weeks and I am looking forward to a great time! We read "The Rosie Project"- which is a good read btw!

Make the best of your situation...

Friday, February 21, 2014

Whatever your situation may be... try to make the best of it. While you cannot control what may happen, you can certainly control how you react. My mantra this year is positivity. While I'm not going to sit here and say my life is perfect, everything is rosey... cause it's simply not true... I will however, choose to see the positives in every day!

Last night, we were freezing! The power was out from 5:30pm to 1:00am... and this had to happen on the same day that we had a crazy snow storm. So we had a family bed with lots of blankets. Like all nights, I wore my fitbit to track my sleep. I woke up 15 times, a total of 29 minutes. I was restless 20 times, a total of 45 minutes awake. It was not a good nights rest for sure. But the kids were warm and they slept good. So, when the power did kick on and it finally warmed up (about 2:30 or so) hubby moved kids to their bed and then I finally slept. Needless to say, I did not wake up as planned to go to the gym. So, I ended up getting there way later than planned and had to get ready at the gym, then go strait to work.

Not the perfect day at all.... BUT, I did get to the gym! I did eat really healthy today, staying under my calorie goal. I've got 11, 409 steps so far and because I'm closing at work, I'll have more as I need to walk the building and close up. Today was a success overall, because I'm choosing to make it one!

Keep your head up people! Focus on the positive! It will motivate you to achieve your goals!

Great attitude! I bought a desk calendar last year "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" and it really helped me look at things differently. Like you said, it is how you CHOOSE to react to situations. I have been much better this year, especially with dealing with my elderly parents (who drive me nuts!)
Keep up the great work.

Exactly! Making the best out of any situation is always a better choice than focusing on the negative. It's amazing what you can do when you think positively.

Good job making it to the gym in spite of your restless night!

So sorry about the restless night, but it's amazing what you have accomplished so far. Way to go!!

Our responses to what happens around us do really make a difference not only for our own health, both mentally and physically, but for those around us as well. Too often, I have knee jerk reactions and realize, after the fact, that if I had just taken time to think before responding, everyone would have been much better off. I need to add "positivity" to my words for this year. My word is "enough," enough in all things.

Blessings on your day.

Oh no, sorry so cold! It's really important to get a good night's sleep. I'm always dragging when I don't. You are a STUD for still getting to the gym BEFORE work after a night like that. Proud-of-you! That fit bit is really motivating you!!

I am glad you had a successful day after what sounds like a very cold night. Spring should soon be here for you, not many sleeps.
