It's almost time!

The 1st is right around the corner! I can't believe how fast February has gone by. When I decided to really commit to this journey (again), I dedicated to focus on the positives of every day and every situation. I truly believe that this is the reason I've stuck with this and am still going strong. I also decided to celebrate each accomplishment and not set my goals or expectations too high. I've made progress with endurance, flexibility, and strength. My clothes are feeling looser. I've had compliments about my progress, so I'm pleased its noticeable. A big change for me this time around is my weighing in. I decided that the scale should not be my primary focus and that I would not allow myself to be obsessed with weighing in. I weigh in on the 1st of the month and once in the middle of the month. No cheating/peaking at the scale. At first I was afraid that not weighing in would throw me off track- but I've been so focused on staying positive and my other goals that I've seen great progress on the scale. 16 pounds in 1 1/2 months is more than I'd ever expected. I am excited to weigh in on the 1st. Which feels weird... Totally weird.... feeling excited to step on a scale. I think the real difference this time around for me is that I'm happier, less stressed and more positive. Attitude is everything, right? If you can believe it, you can achieve it!!

    I've made the focus of my journey this time just to love myself. I can't believe the difference it has made. I've had 32 years of negative self talk and hating my body, and look where it's gotten me. It's a hard thing to reverse, but you're so right - attitude is everything! With the right attitude things will happen naturally and you'll get where you want to get to. Good on you!

Sleep... It's important

So I couldn't help but notice, I was kinda cranky today. After only 4 hrs of sleep, I'm sure that's why. I made it to the gym and while on my machine going to it- I could hear a woman talking on her cell phone LOUDLY. So I ignore it, figure, she'll wrap it up soon... She's at the gym after all.... NOPE. I was on that machine for 37 minutes and she yacked the whole time. I had ear buds in- pretty loud and could still hear her. :/

Sleep... It. Is. Important. On a normal day, I would have blocked her out and just focused on me... No sleep + loud lady = me cranky!

Positive notes- almost done with all my water- got just about 11000 steps in. Going to bed early! Nighty night!

    I totally get this!!! I was in a swim class the other day and this lady kept getting in my swim space! She wasn't even paying one bit of attention! Normally, I would have just moved away and kept doing my thing, but I got stubborn and just wouldn't move! It was infuriating to me! But, I didn't sleep at all the night before because my baby kept me up most of the night. I think you are sooo right about this. Sleep is vital to every part of our day! Thanks for sharing!

  Cell phones are so inappropriately used. I have issues when people are on them at the grocery store too. Simply rude!

February is flying...

I can not believe that we are already in the last week of February! My weigh in is on the 1st... just 5 days away. I'm hoping the scale says 264- as it would be achieving my set goal of 1 pound loss per week. But regardless of what the scale says, I know I've made progress. My pants are starting to feel a little baggy. I've come to the conclusion that I will always lose my boobs first, then my butt will start to flatten out a bit, then my legs start to slim... my stomach will take forever and my arms will take forever... but that's okay. Progress is progress. Having done this before (pre-pregnancy) I know that slow and steady is the way to do this. I know my results will not be the exact same this time around as the last time around, as you can't make baby belly skin completely go away. Regardless, I'm glad that I have energy. I'm glad not to be so winded by going up a flight of stairs. I look forward to working out... something I didn't think I'd enjoy again.... so CHEERS to February! It's been a great month thus far and I plan to end it the same!

P.S. Totally kicked butt in steps today! I'm over 13000! emoticon

    Haaa! I said the exact thing to my husband on Sunday! He asked if I noticed it (the weight loss) anywhere. I said "Yeah....my boobs!" He agreed. LOL I'm really okay with that. Never understood the gals who want them to be Double D's anyway. The less the better for me!!!!!!!!!! Congrats and I'm rooting for you and your loss! I didn't realize that you and I were about the same size. emoticon

Book Club Tonight!

I am a member of a fabulous book club that meets every 5 weeks to laugh, talk, drink wine and just enjoy girl time. I look forward to it! Tonight will be fun as always. I've nearly drank all my water for the day and had a light breakfast and lunch. While I won't count as I eat tonight, I know I'm going into it with 1200 calories left for the day. I made sure to hit the gym early this morning and I'm at 9120 steps- so nearly there!! It's been a good day and it will be a fun night!!! No counting for this girl.... It's once every five weeks and I am looking forward to a great time! We read "The Rosie Project"- which is a good read btw!
