I am back!

Monday, July 16, 2007

So I am finally back from camping and so glad to be back into the swing of things. I am really sore from the sun and being out on the lake. I think I did okay eating but was definitly behind in my water in-take! I really need to be more careful with that- especially when I am out in the sun. I brought my workout clothes to work with me today. It's going to be a long 12 hour work day and I don't want to have any excuses as to why I can't make it to the track park! I am heading there directly from work no matter what! My legs are so sun burned! I did so well with the sun block the whole time I was there and forgot on the last day to put some on my legs. To make it worse it is only the front of my legs that got burned so when it fades the back of my legs will be white and the front will be tan... good thing I don't wear shorts often!

2 pounds

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

So I am down two pounds and am very excited! Maybe it's a subconcious thing but I think scaling myself back to only loosing 1.5 pounds a week vs. 2 pounds really took the pressure off somehow. I realized that if I wanted this change to be perminate it is not going to happen over night and so if it takes me a few extra months to get to my actual weight loss goal, who cares? I have been fat for 10 years- I am willing to carry the few extra pounds for a little longer if that means they will eventually be gone for good. I can't rush a lifestyle change- I need to commit to it. Because bottom line is this process is not just about loosing the weight- it's about learning more about myself and how to eat healthier and live healthier. My ultimate goal weight is 150 and the date use to be 12/31/06 but now it's sometime in April- honestly I am okay with that- because when that day finally rolls around I know that I will be a healthier person regardless of how much I weigh.

This is a great way to look at things. Too often, I think we try to rush through this process and I know I put too much emphasis on the weight loss. I keep hearing from others that once they took the focus off the weight loss, everything just fell into place.
A lifestyle change is for good, a diet is temporary.

New week... time to work

Monday, July 09, 2007

Weight loss is a lot of work! It's a lot of time to dedicate. You must be consistant to see results. That is my biggest problem! I totally lack consistancy. This is the best way to explain it. It's like I am pushing a wagon full of rocks up a hill. Monday I start at the bottom- by Thursday I am more then halfway up to the top of the hill- then Friday I just stop pushing- by Sunday my wagon is at the bottom of the hill again! Weekends are definitly my biggest problem and I need to take control of them! I don't know why I treat them any different then the rest of the week but it needs to stop and soon!

Sunday, July 08, 2007

I am busy so don't have time to journal a lot! I have not tracked my calories for 3 days now and have not exercised! I need to get back with it and make time!

Do you want a butt kicking? bend over! kick! but yeah I so hear ya! You are like me, when your good, your really good, when your bad your really bad, why do we do this to ourselves? that is the question.

It seems like it takes so much longer to take good care of ourselves. I wonder why that is, but then I also look at the time I spend sitting on the couch or in front of the computer when I could be active.
It's all a matter of priority and we're worth making time for.
You can do it!

When to weigh in?

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

So I was wondering when is the best time to weigh in? I usually weigh in first thing in the morning Tuesday mornings (about 4am) and just out of curiousity I weighed this morning (Wednesday at 9am) and it says I am down another pound- but I don't want to list that. I know they say your weight can fluctuate everyday so I don't want to look at it as an acutal loss yet- but really when is the right time to weigh in? Any recommendations? I'm wondering if the time of day really makes a difference or not.
On a side note- got all my strength training in last night and am ready to work out now (I even have my shoes on) so will be doing so momentarily! I was right where I needed to be in the calorie department and drank all my water, ate all my fruits and my veggies- didn't really cheat.... crap I take that back cant' lie I had A bite of my husbands fried fish yesterday- and it was not good.. which may be the only reason I only had A bite. Why am I so addicted to food?

I always wieght myself in the morning, buck naked, after I hit the can, I dont want any ounce influceing the numbers :P, Way to go on being a good girl! eating your veggies and doing your workouts, sounds like you are on a roll. I dont consider that one bite a cheat, what I consider a real cheat is something sweet or encrusted with bread, but thats just my take on it... thanks for the vibes, I got them all and hopefully I can release my obsessive scale behavior this week and not go near it and have it show that magic number I am seeking the next time I jump on it, normally I dont have the urge to hit the scale but since yo-yoing between the terrible 244-242's, I have been jumping on it every two days or so....anyways, have a good day.. and weekend thats coming up. take care
