Woke up feeling sick... and still kicked butt!!

So I woke up this morning without a voice. My throat hurts and my sinuses are stuffed. In my past, this would have been the perfect excuse to stay in bed and not do a darn thing all day long! NOT ANY MORE!!

I got up early, packed my lunch and gym clothes. Focused on extra fluids all day, adding hot tea to help with my throat. Then I hit the gym for a great workout! And now.... I'm actually starting to feel a little better! AMAZING!!

When I got home from the gym I noticed my steps were at 9,524.... so I walked one side of my apartment to the other, to get my extra 500 steps in!! 3rd day in a row over my 10,000 step goal!! I'm feeling FANTASTIC!!!!

Do you push yourself, even when you are tired or a little sick?

    Woot! Way to kick butt AND illness lol girl you are a MACHINE! I'm glad despite feeling not so great you still pushed yourself. If anything I would think exercise would be good for a cold (sweat out the bad stuff) a couple of weeks ago I was dealing with a nasty cold and I still went for walks and it cleared up in like 4 days...not too shabby lol.

I killed it... yep... again! I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm on a roll. 10,590 steps today! Again, over my goal of 10,000! I didn't work out for that long at the gym today and didn't feel like I really worked as hard as I could have... but still managed to get there and get it done!

I went to dinner tonight with a friend from out of town. We went to Chili's and I was sure to look at the menu early in the day and decide on a few options within my calorie range. I settled for the black bean burger with sweet potato fries. I had a mission at the start of the meal, no appetizer and only eat half of my plate....... I DID IT!!! YAY!! After dinner we went to a movie... I only had about 2 cups of unbuttered popcorn... YAY! In the past I would have ordered the large with extra butter then added salt... not any more!!!

So it was a great day! I was under my calories, drank all my water, made my step goal.... Did you accomplish any of your set goals today?

    You are killin' it! Very inspirational! I love getting the margherita grilled chicken. It's like 750 calories for the whole thing but if you get a take out box when it's delivered and put half in there for later. I'll have to try their black bean burger next.

    Wow! You are really kicking butt this week! Kudos to you for making some great food choices at Chilli's. That has always been a tough one for me personally. I love that you had a game plan before going. That is a great idea emoticon and I am going to give it a try the next time I go out to eat.

Yep! I killed it! Not only was I just under my calories for the day, I also went over my step goal! 11,646 steps! And probably more, as I walked back and forth from the office to my bedroom a couple of times. I've been almost to 10,000 steps for several days, but didn't get over it until today! YAY! That 46 minutes at the gym paid off!

Super Bowl Sunday!!

I find this blog title funny... as I'm not watching it at all.... I'm actually at work today. I work every Sunday. I used to do it because it was easier with kids and hubby working (one less day to find a babysitter). Now my hubby is a stay at home Dad, yet I still find myself working Sundays. Guess I've just gotten used to it. I've actually learned to enjoy my Sundays... not a lot going on in the office and I use it as a "catch up" and "prep" day.

So... Super Bowl Sunday! In celebration, the few people that are working today are having a "potluck". I brought Nacho Cheese Sauce and Chips. And I've not had a single Nacho! I'm using the work crockpot, so no worries about the temptation of bringing any leftovers home either! So lots of junk options today and the worst I had was a small amount of spinach artichoke dip (with carrots instead of chips) still within my calorie range!

We have a TV in our breakroom and it's been OFF all day... which is even funnier- everyone was anxiously bringing their Super Bowl Sunday Potluck food... but nobody is watching the actual game on their breaks or lunches.... Which makes me think.... Do we look forward to these "events" simply for food? .... Interesting thought....

Today is my one relax day per week, where I don't hit the gym... I've been challenging myself though to take a long detour everytime I use the restroom (two flights of stairs)... then after I use the restroom I do 10 squats, 10 leg lifts, 10 wall pushups.... You get the gist.... not a bad "day off" if I do say so myself!

Birthday Parties

Birthday parties..... It's the only time I ever eat cake. My work will sometimes put things out for associates- like cupcakes and I never have any. Today was my nieces birthday. She turned 6. She had a "Frozen" themed birthday- the kids had so much fun. The adults had fun telling jokes and catching up. And yes... I ate cake... and I made sure to not go over my calories for the day!

I've not had sugar in a long time... and as good as that cake tasted, the headache I got after eating it made it soooo not worth it.

Started the day off right, with the gym- lots of water- and errands... Ending the day with 8586 steps. Another great day!
